Hey there Brother

Oiy what a week. Lots of work going on right now. We are working almost 12 hour days straight through until we get out to sea. This coming week will be even harder because we have to start up practice drills and stuff so even longer days ahead. I wish I could make it up to the shop but by golly I just have no time right now. I probably won't until I get off the ship next month sometime. Then I will be able to take about a week of leave and then back to training again. Sheesh this Command is wearing me out something fierce.

Well my Mom is visiting my Aunt in Arizona who has all of our family military archives and such and she just found my Grandfathers Photo Album from the USS Logan (APA-196), an old troop transport ship and darned of that bugger was not Commissioned on MY BIRTHDAY in 1944!!!!! Holy Moses there are a LOT of parallels between my Grandfathers Naval Career and Me!! Crazy I tell ya

Oh Man I tell ya. Our Section Leader even made adjustments to the watchbill so that those who want to watch the Superbowl can be off watch when it is on I am really excited to see this one and I am hoping the satellite feed holds out on the barge during the game

It really is, he commissioned a ship that I decommissioned and we both got promoted to First Class Petty Officer on that very same ship. Then now I find out that he was on a ship that was commissioned on my birthday too.

I am definitely trying to take some time to relax because this coming week is going to be so much of a nightmare that I may actually just sleep on the barge all week just so I can save on gas and get some sleep.
