Hey everyone, hope all is going well!

Yesterday at ECC I picked up a shiny new Vapor Flask squonker and a Vortice. I've been wanting to try out a squonker for a while, and I love my Flasks, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity!

Where I really need some advice is on the builds. It uses the dna 40 chip, though I'm looking more for a Kanthal build than Nickel (since I don't have any Nickel wire, Ha!) I prefer dual coil over single. I don't think we really need to sub ohm to get decent vapor and flavor from these regulated mods, though I'm not opposed to it.

I guess I'm really just looking for a few build suggestions....

Let me know your thoughts, really appreciate any suggestions!

Well, if you're going dual, you might want more than 6 wraps per coil to keep the resistance higher.

8 wraps each of 28g will put you around 0.8 ohms.

9 wraps each of 26g will have you around 0.5 ohms.

That's with 2.5mm coils. 2mm coils will be a bit lower and 3mm coils will be a bit higher.

As to building the Vortice, do keep in mind the coils need to be as high in the atty as you can get them to take advantage of the airflow. Check out this thread. I posted a video from Todd that he did a quick review on the Vortice...

On kanthal, I would build slightly higher in the 1.0 ohm range. At 40 watts, you'll be pulling around 6.3 volts. Should heat up the coil nice and fast, while still providing good vapor and flavor. For me, that's a 26g dual coil around a 2mm bit. 10 wraps.

It's not a cloud chasing comp type of coil, but then again the DNA 40 is not for winning cloud comps.
