VCU Is performing another study for electronic cigarettes! And if you live in the area or want to take a trip you can help! VCU needs our help bad... VCUs last study ended up with the famous news article which headlined "E-Cigs Don't Deliver" in which they did a short study on people who were smokers and they had them use electronic cigarettes... Here is a word by word of the flyers which they are hanging around the area, they need vapers bad. :)

Do you use electronic cigarettes?

Men and women who use electronic cigarettes daily and are between the ages of 18-55 are needed to participate in a research study that requires one, 5-hour laboratory visit.

PARTICIPANTS WILL BE COMPENSATED!

Call (804) 827-3562
Monday - Friday
9am - 4pm
for more detailed information about this and other studies for tobacco users

The study will be conducted in McGuire Hall on VCU's Medical Campus
Principal Investigator: Thomas Eissenberg, Ph.D.
Professor, Department of Psychology

Now for a personal note: I was contacted by VCU to hang some flyers up in our store and thought that VA vapers who wanted to get some extra cash (Im told possibly between $200-$300 for your time / IMO A damn good deal to just sit around and vape for 5hrs) or if you would just like to help in a study for e-cigs.

(Wasn't sure where the best place to post this was... BUT HEY! This is great news for me :D )

We told Eissenberg that his conclusion from the first study was wrong. He said e-cigarettes don't deliver nicotine. We told him that's because your study design only let them take 10 puffs. Some folks criticized the fact that the brands chosen for that first experiment might not be the most effective and that the nicotine strength was below what the averge ECF participant uses.

So this study allows people to use their own equipment, use their own liquid / cartridge / cartomizer, and doesn't limit them to 10 puffs. From the few subjects tested so far, they are finding that vapers do get nicotine. What conclusion Eissenberg will decide to draw from this fact is unknown. Just because he considered "they aren't getting nicotine" to be a negative factor doesn't guarantee that he will view "they are getting nicotine" as a positive factor.

The first time I requested I got declined. If anybody on earth could make this guy look like a fool it would be me. I doubt they will let me participate this time also but it is worth a shot I suppose. I just do not like the fact I would have to be nicotine sober for more than 30 seconds let alone the 12 hours required before testing.

ehhhhhh just eat a bunch of sugar and drink lots of coffee, it'll tie you over for 12 hours.

and yeah I hate this guy too. but the fact that he's willing to do another study is a good sign.

I am scheduled to go in NEXT Friday at 8am to do the testing... I would like to thank V4L!!! IDK if they know it or not but ALOT of the cartomizers are coming from Vapor4Life :D good thing i LOVE their Chocolate Banana Cartomizers :D

Enjoy. I went with only a few hours of sleep in me and had a 4 1/2 hour drive down to Richmond, which I capped off with a visit to Waffle House. I never would have made the trip if I had to abstain from caffeine for more than an hour or so beforehand. I was exhausted and ended up taking two or three short naps during the time periods where the nurse wasn't in the room with me.

I do remember getting a bit lost looking for parking, but if you're a local, I imagine it'll be a lot easier for you.
