It could be helpful for consumers and vendors to see the differences in nicotine vaporization found between/among the 16 different e-cigarette brands that were tested.

[h=2]Abstract[/h]Introduction: The electronic cigarette (EC) is a plastic device that imitates conventional cigarettes and was developed to deliver nicotine in a toxin-free vapor. Nicotine in a solution is heated and vaporized when a person puffs through the device and is inhaled as a vapor into the mouth. The EC is a new product on the market and little is known about its safety and nicotine delivery efficacy. The aim of the study was to analyze nicotine levels in vapor generated from various EC brands and models. The study was designed to assess efficacy and consistency of various ECs in converting nicotine to vapor and to analyze dynamics of nicotine vaporization.

Methods:
Sixteen ECs were selected based on their popularity in the Polish, U.K. and U.S. markets. Vapors were generated using an automatic smoking machine modified to simulate puffing conditions of real EC users. Nicotine was absorbed in a set of washing bottles with methanol and analyzed with gas chromatography.

Results:
The total level of nicotine in vapor generated by 20 series of 15 puffs varied from 0.5 to 15.4 mg. Most of the analyzed ECs effectively delivered nicotine during the first 150–180 puffs. On an average, 50%–60% of nicotine from a cartridge was vaporized.

Conclusions:
ECs generate vapor that contains nicotine, but EC brands and models differ in their efficacy and consistency of nicotine vaporization. In ECs, which vaporize nicotine effectively, the amount inhaled from 15 puffs is lower compared with smoking a conventional cigarette.

Well this could be why some chain vape all day.

Lower nicotine absorption than when smoking cigarettes would obviously
be one of the top reasons for chain vaping. Not the 1 and only reason.

I smoked 2-3 PAD for over 40 years and switched to vaping 4 years ago
with a joye 510 and an 801 pen style. Later switched to a standard eGo.
Later moved up to an eGo with a Monster atty/cart and 1000 mAh battery.

My Nic level preference has always been 36mg. My preference is
because (in part) the heaviness of the vapor. 18mg, for example,
feels "airy" in comparison and less satisfying.

The first few weeks after switching ... I was chain vaping so much that
I got concerned and called my vendor. I told the vendor I can vape 36mg
till I get dizzy but I continue to chain vape ... What's going on? Was told
"Your body is craving what was in e-cigarettes and initially chain vaping
is totally normal ... Your body is going through a period of adjustment"

Well, that was 4 years ago and I'm still chain vaping (not inhaling as often).
I enjoy vaping ... but chain vaping goes well beyond enjoying blowing clouds.

If truth was known ... I suggest Nicotine gets most of the press. In fact,
there are TONS of chemicals in cigarettes. Burning and inhaling some
of those chemicals are also addictive. Maybe highly addictive?

Regardless ... Many of us are still chain vaping after several years because
our body is craving what is in cigarettes ... and that ain't just nicotine.

It is interesting to see science reporting lower Nic absorption rates with e-cigs.
However, I suggest that even if the absorption rate was exactly the same ...
Many of us would still be chain vaping because our bodies would be craving
other addictive ingredients in cigarettes.

At the very best ... e-cigs are just an "alternative" and not an equal substitute
for smoking cigarettes.

I miss that wonderful relaxing Aahhh feeling we all remember .... When we took
that first puff after not having a cigarette for a period of time.

studies are getting better but things are still a little vague. Were all the PVs tested with the same juice or did they look at the unit as a whole, perhaps with preloaded juice? Pg/Vg ratio has an effect on nic delivery according to some on this thread and I have come to believe it.
What was the starting mg? The voltage/resistance/total watts of each PV?
I have a laundry list of follow up questions.

Not to derail the thread, but you may want to try some snus or WTA. It has the Aahhhh
Thanks
I'm really not interested in snus ...
However, just noticed one of our supporting vendors website
Aroma E-juice ---- USA MADE Eliquid - Whole Tobacco Alkaloid Eliquid (WTA)
I'm thinking about giving it a try ... If it gives me that Aahhh feeling,
at least I could vape it from time to time to cut down on this insane
4 year chain vaping
:)
Thanks again for the suggestion

Yes, you definitely need to try some WTA juice.

and where did they get plastic PVs?
The value of these studies could be vastly improved if "they" would include
knowledgeable vapers as consultants (period)
