I don't have any experience with the new coils as I use the rba on my subtanks. However with the old coils it was highly recommended to "prime" a new coil when using it. Put a couple drops of juice down the inside of the coil onto the cotton and then add a drop to each wick hole on the sides. After that, fill the tank and take a draw without power to get suction into the coil so it properly wicks. Then most people let it sit for a few minutes.

Hope this helps but it's all I know. I do this same routine with the rba as well and don't have any issues.

Good luck.

I did this, and I let it sit in the juice for about a half hour before I used it but it is still giving dry hits.

I find the new coils different from the old. (Vertical new vs Horizontal old)

This isn't causing me problem other than having to run it a good few watts higher.

What power? What juice (PG/VG) anything unusual (high ohm readings etc?)

I had one which refused to wick, period. I can find no explanation, other than somebody had packed it to death with something and it simply didn't soak up the juice. I knew immediately, as the liquid just sat on the holes like the cotton had been sprayed with something liquid-proof. Very strange indeed. #2 'bad' Kanger coil in 3+ years.
