New Super Concentrated Flavors - Part 2

Sometimes I think the bottom notes will always be missing because the bottom notes are predominantly the rich smells of the tobacco shop and the memory of the delightful sensation of burning tobacco searing my throat LOL

This is so true. We are only making a simulation of the dreaded and much beloved burning tobacco. I doubt we will ever come much closer than we are now, but I hope I'm wrong about this.

I agree that RY4 and Real Cig are close, but I wouldn't call it "too close." One tastes like a cigarette, the other tastes like another cigarette. Did cigarettes taste that different from one another?

Are you saying that Island Tobacco tastes like Real Cig and RY4?

Im saying the base tobacco is pretty much the same. Especially with Realcig and Ry4. I dont think Realcig tastes like a cigarette either. I do agree its a pretty good tobacco flavor though.

As somebody else alluded to, I guess it would depend on what cig you smoked. Because Real Cig is one of the closest real that I've ever tried. And all I vape is tobacco.

But, thank you! Got to try the RY4 now. I want to see if that little difference would be in a good or bad diff for me.

Cyrus! I'm really digging the 555 at 5%!! I will try the 6-7 as you suggested. How about Real Cig? Have you tried that at a higher %? I'm happy with it anywhere from 1.5%-3%. Just may try it higher after doing it with 555.

OH! And I vote for BOTH! :)

thank you for the vote :) I'm real good at waffling forever and ....doing nothing lol

I recall real cig being a bit too much for me over 3% but I don't trust my memory, or the nic that I tried this with (MFS) so I have a new batch steeping at 5% right now ;)

a lot of these flavors come to life in a whole new way from 4% upwards. its probably best to use the least amount of flavor you can be happy with, but hey, I'm never satisfied ;)

The only one that def did not work for me above 3% so far was Desert Ship. The menthols also just get too mentholish at higher percents. I have Old Captain at 10% right now and its amazing :) As I said in the review thread, its not actually all that intense, just a bit different vs. 5% and 7%

And I've learned that 555 is actually a great blender, it can add a robust, dry note to just about anything. Also the RY4 seems to do this quite well (I have the ECX though, so YMMV).

Virginia is a great blender too, it adds some sweet and some of that grassy hay note. Oddly enough its more potent to me in a blend than it is on its own (6-7%), the sweet and earthy tones just pop out more.

Does anyone know if 555, RY4, etc were actual cigarette brands, or are, actual cigarette brands?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm just wondering if that explains why these concentrates are a lot less like nutty, caramel candy that we've come to associate with these names, and a lot more like cigs.

If you go to RTS chinese flavors, there is a picture of a cig box next to each one. Maybe they're photo shopped LOL but there is 555, RY4 etc IIRC

that would explain a lot. especially if these flavors are actually tobacco extracted

I agree with this. But I can't for the life of me see the island tobacco sharing the base with them. It has the same base as Old Captain IMO. Not that it matters, taste is taste.

LOL. Jimi back when this insanity started, you reported that the tobaccos were actually tobacco based flavors right? Or did I make that up....

The real cig I'm loving at 5%, it was the nic that threw me off on the last batch. Gonna go up it to 7 % :)

I'm brainstorming a way to balance out the Old Captain and the Black and Mild. I'm thinking Cohiba or 555. Any ideas?

I love blending these things
