Okay i will try to make this short for you guys, but first - thanks in advance if you can lend me some of your expertise on my road to quitting traditional cigarettes!

I've been smoking for 6 years now - normally one pack a day. This past weekend my buddy let me try his new ecig(not sure what brand) and now, i want to fully transition over to e-cigs.

I'm looking for a product that will produce a lot of vapor, will give me that "throat hit feeling" and will be good for "on the go" trips (work, bars, etc)

It doesn't need to be small, and i'm not worried about people looking at me funny - so i don't really need something that mimics the exact look of a cigarette.

I've been researching all morning and I am overwhelmed with all of the products out there. tanks, Cardomizers, Clearomizers...

I'm lost, and i need help!

i've been looking into revolvercigs.com - the tank system? has anyone tried these?

again any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to ECF :)

A good quick setup is to go for an eGo style battery (JoyeTech/Ovale, Vision, Kgo make similar batteries in this form factor) as they are relatively inexpensive and good for testing the waters. You'll have a choice between 300mah (battery capacity) all the way up to 1300 mah. Higher the mah rating, the larger the battery, but the longer it'll last w/o charge.

I'd also recommend checking out a clearomizer and a box of cartomizers, to see which you like best.

If you go the eGo route, get two so while one is charging you can still vape. You'll also need a charger. This you'll have to make sure is appropriate for the battery. If it charges 4.2v@420ma it will work with eGo batteries.

I new to the forums as well, but I bought and eGo starter kit 4 months ago and it totally worked for me. Just get a starter kit with 650 or preferably 1000mAh batteries, a charger and clearomizers. Don't forget juice. Get a bunch of samples of tobacco and others favors too, I found I liked fruity type juiced better that tobacco ones, but everyone is different. Good lick!

I've been done with cigs for almost 5 weeks now and started with a 510 cig-alike setup .
I'm really happy with this still but the batteries are pitiful .
After plenty of research ( i still want something easy)i'm now on the hunt for a ego twist (variable voltage )and
Kanger T3 clearos . This , i know is a great setup and quite easy to use .
You'll also need some sample packs of E-juice in 18 mg. & 12 mg. nic strengths .

I'm looking to buy a "kit" that has everything i need to get started.. just not sure where to buy from? so many places..

I used myfreedomsmokes.com at first, great service and shipping time, and they have a good selection of starter kits and juice.

Then just check the forum and you will find many others, better juices etc.

I guess I would recommend something with variable voltage so you can really play with it to get it just right for you. It's more expensive, though. I know I bought something cheaper at first and didn't quit on them. Then, my girlfriend bought a really nice one for me with variable voltage and it made a world of difference. It just really sucks to not get a really good one and miss out on how good vaping can be.

The EGOs are good and cheap but you'll still invest a lot either way with vaping initially once you tally up the chargers, juice, etc. Buying an ego with some cheap prefilled cartomizer is probably the most economical way to start but, imo, won't really allow you to experience the full potential that vaping has advanced to.

If there is a local shop in your area that sells items they usually will let you go in and test them before you buy.

You will probably find most serious vapers use the provari distributed by the people at provape.com. It's not cheap, though. Buying the mod you want is going to probably be the most important decision. Most people like any tank that has a cartomizer in it for good throat hit and vapor. I've found the lower ohm cartomizer, the better the throat hit. I'm a throat hit junkie.

My setup is the VV OMG handle from vapor4life. I use 1.5 ohm cartomizers at 3.6 volts. They're much cheaper than the provari because they're plastic and not as durable but they put out the same amount of power for a fraction of the cost. Only issue is you sort of commit to them as they use 808 threading (which is why I use them because I get better airflow) when everyone else seems to use 505. There are adapters but it sort of sucks to have to use them.

If you want a kit, you can go to vapedojo.com and grab the Katana kit. $13.00 for a 650 mAh eGo battery, charger and a CE4 clearomizer. Get 2 like others have been suggesting. All you'd need after that is some juice. Vape Dojo sells the juice as well, or you could go to any number of vendors and try some out.

ECBlend sells 5 milliliter bottles for $2.50. Mt. Baker Vapor sells 15 milliliter bottles for about $5.00. Heather's Heavenly Vapes, Vape Dudes, Johnson Creek and a number of others sell sampler packs.

Good luck!

how about the Volcano Inferno?

The ecig granddaddy

This was my 1st real upgrade and I love it.. I think the company is awesome.. Great website with good CS.. Ordered on a Sat and got it by Wed.. I recommend Volcano products to everyone.. I got a LT a few weeks ago and its awesome! Their kits might cost a little more then other kits but you get everything you need plus a 1 year warranty.. They have everything you need, 1 stop shopping.. Tanks, cartos and really good juice.. Their website is great for vaping noobs because they have very helpful videos to show you everything you need to know.. A+ in my book..

I agree! Volcano is reliable and the prices are good, shipping is really quick considering it comes all the way from Hawaii! The inferno tanks are good and they last forever with the five empty cartos you get to go with them, and replacement cartos are relatively cheap and can usually be found on one of the sites you would order your liquids from. The only thing I don't like about the tanks is that the draw is too weak for my taste. I contacted them about this and they were right there helping me try to figure it out, but I think it's just a personal preference issue. Still have my original tank for emergencies! As far as batteries, you can't beat the inferno battery for lasting long, both on a charge and on general life-span. And the infernos are pass-through, so you can keep vaping away at the computer until they are charged again!
