Hey everyone,

Just wanted to start by saying this is a great site with some very useful information along with some great people. I just recently bought my 510 standard e-cig and am enjoying it very much.

My question is Just about everytime I take a drag from it i get some liquid at the end of the cartridge where the vapor comes out of. Is there and way of stopping this from happening? I am using the supplied cartridges that came with the set. Also is it dangerous if this gets on my mouth or lips? Thanks in advance for the info and hope to stay with these! I can already breathe better and its only been one day!!!

If you get the liquid in your mouth or on your lips you should spit it out into a tissue and wipe your lips on a tissue or on you sleeve. It's not going to hurt you unless it's very high nicotine but it is a skin irritant.

Don't overfill your carts. It should look just damp on top, not a puddle. I also try to keep the angled down when I am not voing and the LED angled down when i am vaping so hopefully any loose juice will go to the atomizer.

But the precut blue foam for 510 carts at strictlyejuice.com (under $1 for 10 pieces I think). Try the blue foam instead. SOme say to rinse it first then pat totally dry. Remove the old stuffing from the cart. A small smooth unbent paper clip is handy. For a full fill, fill the empty juice cup 1/2 way with juice then stick the tapered end of the foam into the juice cup. Slide the foam piece in. Then push it down into the juice to wet it. Then use the paper clip to try to reposition the foam even with the top edge of the juice cup. Top off with 2-3 drops - whatever it needs to look just damp on top.

Give that a try - lots of people prefer the blue foam.

Did you get manual batteries? You could try cartomizers but they are safer to use on manual batteries because manual 510 batteries should be totally sealed on the threaded end. Autos are dependent on a drag sensor there and juice drips can kill a battery. if you have autos, at least buy a spare battery if you'll be using cartomizers. many prefer cartomizers on ecigs. If you are careful with filling them well and cleaning them up well (blow out the central air channel (you should bee able to see light through it), clean the threaded end totally, sop up any loose juice above the stuffing) you can vape a lot longer without needing to add juice and they are much less likely to dump juice in your mouth. They do have limited lifespans and you don't want to run them dry (can singe and ruin them). Fill one well and let it lay on different sides so every bit of the stuffing soaks up liquid, make sure it's not dripping and recap and vape. And keep it damp and a carto can last 4-14 days with these Boges. if they are out of stock, other places sell these. you want standard resistance like these, NOT the LR low resistance ones which can damage a slim battery.

Edit -- OK -- Doormouse beat me to an answer -- and a very good one, BTW. Will post anyway...

I had that too at the very beginning sometimes. Mostly when I refilled my own cartridges or cartos with too much liquid. I think you may be using too hard of a draw. We get eager! Most of us draw and inhale different than an analog (cig) and it takes practice. I draw into mouth a couple times, like a tobacco pipe sorta, wait a second, and then inhale---exhale.

It isn't dangerous--in tiny quantities--doesn't taste good and one sure shouldn't drink it! A good idea to wipe and/or wash it off as about everyone recommends washing hands if (and when) you get it on them even though I've read that the e-liquid does not absorb well through the skin---mouth is different matter.

Also, the higher the nic content the more careful one needs to be-----but I have not seeing anyone have big problems with the nicotine strengths that are sold in pre-mixed liquids.

If you are using the pre-filled cartridges then it's probable that you are just sucking too hard on it. The inhale on an e-cig should be gentle and a bit longer than the hard/quick drag we take on our tobacco cigarettes. Try a softer inhale.

Also, I do highly recommend that you buy some e-liquid to re-fill your carts with. Refilling is super-easy to do and saves a ton of money -- plus you can choose from thousands of flavors and even customize your own.

Good luck :) and welcome to the forum.

edit: tearose beat me to it! lol.
