Welcome st1r. There are many choices and in order to get a good reccomendation it would be helpful to know some info. How much do you smoke now? Do you want it to look like and be the same diameter of a cig? Or are you OK with a larger batt? How much work are you willing to do, meaning do you want to just fill it and forget it or are you willing to add drops when needed? Many people here can give advice about what worked for them but you are asking what is right for you and some info is needed. Sorry I don't have a canned answer and can just tell you to buy X,Y & Z. We want you to be succesful and what worked for me might not do the trick for you.

Think of ecigs as an alternative to smoking, not a quit smoking device. Tell yourself your trying something to supplement your smoking. They are not designed as devices to help you quit. They are an alternative to smoking. :)

Now that we have that cleared up....

I highly recommend the simple eGo ECF Special bundle kit for only $49:

Hi st1r - i'm pretty new to vaping myself - just completed one month tobacco cigarette free a couple of days ago. I got on the internet and researched and read for about a week. It seems like those new to vaping like us favor the electronic cigarettes that resemble real life cigarettes--but then get over it a little while later and start going for stainless steel batteries with blue led lights so that no one can mistake your eCig for a real cigarette, or analog as it is known in the vaping world.

The three models that seem to be the most popular among new vapers are
1-The Supermini - also known as the RN4081 or DSE103 - because of its smaller size, batteries will last anyway from 3 to 4 hours
2-The Joy - also known as the yeti or the 510 - I find that the batteries for the 510 expire quicker because you get tons of vapor from this model
3-The Classic, also known as the 901

Names vary by manufacturer - for example, the Blu ecig and Njoy are RN4081s.

Getting a starter kit of any one of these models will serve you well. Look for a minimum of a 30 day warranty in the event you get a bum unit. Shoot me an email and I'll be happy to let you know where I got my starter kit (and I have been a repeat customer there many times since).

Also, there are eCigs marketed as Quit Kits. I believe the thinking is that you start at the level of nicotine that you used with tobacco cigarettes for your eCig -- for example, I used VS Menthol Lights and ordered 11mg nicotine strength which is medium to low strength. If my goal is to quit, I can later order lower strength nicotine, say 6-8mg nicotine strength, from there, I may step down to zero. So, although for the most part eCigs are not marketed as a quit smoking device -- it sure can help you get there!

I hope this helps :)

Good Luck and please let us know what you end up picking!

...I can't wait to put a vapor meter on my signature :)

My advice would be to do a little (or a lot!) of research. No one can really say what the "best" is, because it's all about preference.
I started with a kr-808 (from CigEasy) and I love it - but some people don't. It's nice because of the 2-piece set-up, and it's portable. The battery won't last as long as a bigger PV (Riva/Ego/Elegant), but it works for me.
As far as juice goes, order a bunch of smaller bottles and figure out what your tastes are - after you figure out what you do and don't like, it's easier to read a review of a flavor and decide if you're likely to enjoy it or not.
Good luck!

I got the kissbox classic and i am happy with that. Give it a little while it is a lot like a analog but you do have to learn how to smoke all over again. Just do not get any free trials, those cost 60 bucks a month and for that you should just start smoking again. But i just started this whole thing and on my 2nd day i quit smoking (spent the first day charging the batty)

st1r - need some info about your smoking and battery needs before anyone can make a reasonable recommendation

Meanwhile please check the sticky threads at the top of New members
1. the newbie videos
2. the thread with Library in its title which leads to a multi-part illustrated guide

And a good idea is to skip over the super-minis - most people are unhappy with those within 4 weeks

Most popular basic starter models here are Joye 510, DSE901, KR808D-1 and the fat-battery models of same which have much longer battery charge and allow use of more hotter more power-hungry atomizers and cartomizers
