Hello to all!
My name is Mark I am new to the forum. I heard this is the best place to come for support when trying to quit smoking. I have been smoking marlboro reds (and occasionally Benson & Hedges) for about 25-30 years now. I had attempted to quit many times in the past but never really had any luck. But one day I saw an old family friend using an E-Cig and I was shocked to find that it really did taste and feel like cigarette smoke. He gave me this referral card and I decided to buy myself a kit, the brand was A1 Vapors (www.A1Vapors.com). The company offers a 30 day money back guarantee so I figured, what I have to lose? Well I just got it in the mail about 3 days ago and WOW. They have this flavor called Creamy tobacco that taste even better than my cigarettes, I was impressed. So now im at day 1 with no cigs, I'm an early bird so its been about 6 hours now without any cigs. Ive been puffing away on my A1 Battery so it hasnt been THAT hard. But I still have the thought of lighting up a real cig in my head, thats why I came here…
Any suggestions? Tips are appreciated

Hi Mark - glad to hear that the e cig is helping you with your smoking. I wonder what strength of nic you have there. As a heavy smoker, I had to up my nic to 24 mg to get my smoking down to just barely smokiong. Yeah, I'm still hanging on to smoking a few throughout the day. Some people hide the ashtrays and throw away the smokes and some people just smoke one if they want it. Now that I have my nic level and clearos and x-2s for around the house and 78's for when I am out and about, I really only smoke about 4 cigs a day. Honestly, I don't think I need those anymore, I'm just hanging on to them anyway.

The fact that it hasn't been that hard for you to do without means you are well on your way:) Congrats.

So its the end of the day now and I didn't exactly go cigarette free but I only smoked 4! I am proud of myself though. I'm new to vaping but I gotta say it really does the job. I must say I was skeptical at first but from a pack and a half a day to 4 cigs a day is really an improvement. I hope I can do as good or even better tomorrow.

Thank you for the tips, and thank you A1 Vapors!

I think you did super. I know that it is easy to skip having smokes with the vaping. I still wonder what nic level you have in your cartridges.

Good for you and keep vaping before you turn to cigs. That will take care of most of your cravings IMHO.

It really is about how many cigs you didn't smoke today!!!!

Mark, that is so awesome! I think you should vape whenever you need to, if you are like me it may be more than you smoked. Don't beat yourself up for having an actual cig but keep vaping tough. I took smoked analogs for over 25 years. I have been analog free for 18 days. I vape a lot more than I ever smoked and I don't care. It is so much more subtle to vape nicotine then burn it. You should be proud of yourself!

I'm in the same boat except that I'm about six weeks ahead of you. I decided to quit on a Monday and smoked three outside. That Saturday, I smoked another two outside. Since then, nothing. One thing I've discovered is that atomizers die and Clean Cigs suck. I've now decided to buy a few accessories every week so that I have something ready to go at all times. Even with a $30 a week order to Value Vapor a week, I'm spending about half what I was. After 30 years (oh my) of Marlboroughs, it's nice to be done. I need to go ahead and give away the almost two full packs I've got stored. AND I haven't gone out to the bar with my friends. That will be the REAL test.

Hey Mark, when I started vaping way back in February, I also had the same urge to grab a real smoke.the trick is to find a flavour of e juice that really hits the spot. After trial and error I found that `Virginia` flavour really did it for me as it left that Smokey taste and feel in my mouth after I'd put the e cig down. Also if you can, pick up a couple of ego batteries with some low resistance boge cartomisers and they will really hot the spot. Much more than the kit you have at the moment. Hope this helps mate :) just be warned that vaping will take over your life lol in a good way though. Others on here will back me up on that lol
