Hi! :)

There are hundreds of kind of e-cigs, but two very popular ones: the 510 (or the eGo if you like a longer lasting battery - same as 510 other than that) or the kr808d-1. People choose based on different things, so it's important to have a look and see which will suit your needs the best.

Here's a series of videos to help you figure out what you might like better:

good luck!

Hello fellow newb! I to am new I have only been at this a few days but wow what a change it will be to your life. I bought the ego 512 kit from myvaporstore.com and I am very very pleased. I also got a bunch of extras that really wasn't necessary at this time but you never know what you might need. I prefer to have lots of extras. For me the ego is perfect, its super easy to use and to me it provides great vapor. I would suggest in your free time going to the section that deals with juice reviews and do some research. I have found myself wanting more than just a couple of flavors.
I did buy the mega carto to go with my ego and I do like that for times when I am out and about, but the more I vape the more I find myself dripping. It to me gives the best flavor and vapor.

Also just a side note I have mostly bought 100%VG or 80% VG, but I did buy a flavor that was 80%PG and 20% VG and that one doesn't create much vapor but the taste to me is stronger.

The people in this forum have blown my mind! I have been given so much help and support and have been asked nothing in return. I believe people here are genuine and out to help others such as ourselves to break the addiction to a death sentence.
I wish you all the luck and if I can help just pm me. I dont know a lot but what I do know I am happy to share. Good luck!

And I recommend LiteCigUSA.net

They have Joye 510 (original manufacturer is Joye) and one KR8 kit. I get my own KR8 stuff at Vapor4Life.com

And if you are a heavy smoker, heavy dragger or need battery life of 6-8 hours vs the 1.5-3 of a 510 (3-5 with 510 mega xl battery) or the 3-5 hours of KR8, then skip slimmer cylindrical ecigs and look at Ego and Riva 510

I guess I should clarify that I'm looking for a 2 piece ecig for the convenience, and a long battery life, and something that tastes as close to a real cig as possible. Does such a thing exist? I'm worried that using drops will be a hassle.

filling the cartomizer (the nicotine thingy) isn't that hard to do and saves a lot of money, plus you can control the flavor that way, but you certainly don't have to do it if you don't want to.

any system CAN work with cartomizers, so it really comes down to this: what do you mean by "long battery life"?

an eGo will last about 8 hours, a kr808d-1 lasts about 3-5 hours, a 510 lasts about 1-3 hours.

BUT you can get any of those in a bigger (ie: longer) version, which adds about 3-4 hours.

I'm interested in knowing also... I have an Inferno T from Volcano. No particular reason beyond the fact that I live in hawaii and they have a Vapor bar here and let you try them out. From what I understand, most companies get them from the same factories in China (Correct me if I'm wrong). Tried to order the OvaleUSA one, they are having problems with paypal, so no- go for now.

well im the last person that should be answering this - because im a clueless 3 day vaper myself.. and I think it's gonna depend on your budget but I know the KR808D is a common starter model, it's a 2 piece, and from my understanding has a little more power, which might get you a little more TH than say, a 501..not sure on battery life but it being a starter model with a stock battery, its probably not gonna be that great BUT I know madvapes has a very very basic 808d kit for like 10 bucks so that would be a cheap way to try it out -

but really you shouldn't listen to me at all, there are so many other people here who know what they're talking about and im sure they'd all recommend much fancier gear that I don't know 'nothin 'bout :)

EDIT: oops see before i clicked edit much smarter people already pointed out that with a cartomizer, that will turn a 3 piece model like a 501 into a 2 piece style. so yeah.. ill stop typing useless info now. lol.

Cartos or tank, you need a syringe to refill. The Ego-T Tank is one of the newest, has a clear and visible fill level, and is one of the most trouble free atty/cart combinations I've found. Vapor is strong with any juice, but the best combo mix for me is 70pg/30vg. Backwoods Brew juices work just fine in the tank and they are all 70/30 (and tasty). 100% pg might just flood once on a while, but I prefer a little VG in my mix, anyway.

I really appreciate the timely and informative responses, even if some of the info sounds like Greek to me at the moment - But thanks to all. After doing some research, I'm slightly more confused, but I hope to remedy that with some more homework tomorrow. I found that some of the sites that offer ecigs for sale didn't have enough info for the newbie, and didn't seem to explain the products being offered. Some sites were very good - like the Blu site. Based on that alone, I'm considering going with Blu.

510 looks closer to a real cig if you use it as a 2-piece with cartomizers. At Cignot you can choose a white kit with red LED. A 510 has a long middle piece then a short cart. The black ones (what I have) usually have a blue LED. I use cartomizers instead so it's just the battery and a filter-sized cartomizer (cartomizers are usually black so it would look like a black-filtered white cig if you have a white battery). Battery life is short - 1.5-3 hours depending how much you vape. Get a PCC. 510 has few pre-filled cartos, lots of types of blanks. Almost as slim as a cig and about 110mm long, 100mm with a Boge standard carto. You could also get their Mega xl long batteries to have the same battery charge life as KR808D-1 though it will be a bit longer - 128mm long with a standard Boge carto, 138mm long with atty+cart. The mega batteries need a different Mega 510 PCC.

KR808D-1 (aka Vapor4Life and also Bloog though I don;t like that they don't offer manual batteries which is what most people here use - manual) - dedicated 2-piece, lots of prefilled cartos available, smaller variety of blank cartos. Noticeably fatter than a cig, standard batteries last much longer than 510's - about 3-5 hours, less if vaped heavily, because more of its length is battery. 120mm long with carto

And there are smaller ecigs that look just like a cigarette and generally are crap, or at the very least weak and satisfy few for more than a month

Death2sanity is right about bloog; they have very good batteries, and their maxxfusion cartos are known for their quality and consistency. pm me if you'd like 15% off. btw their pre-filled cartos are very good (e.g. reds and kamels).

But with whatever you choose, I always recommend trying to save $$$ because it's SO easy to spend a good amount on new (and upgrade) starter kits, flavors, etc. Choose a good kit and some nice flavor samples, and there you are. cheers ;)
