I picked up smoking after three year's of being smoke free. I tried those gas station eCigs that look like cigarettes and I hated the taste, so I continued to smoke. After spending $180 a month on cigarettes, I figured I should go out and buy a nice eCig to help me quit smoking. A real nice shop owner (Ace of Vape in Highland, CA) educated me on the diferent types of devices. I ended up spending way more than I was expecting on a Carbon-Fiber and Coper Paragon mod with a IGO-W dual coil rebuildable vape. I felt douschey, because I always disliked the guys who would go out and buy the most expensive road bike as their first bike.

Well I am enjoying my purchase. I figure the device will pay for itself in two months; Plus, I enjoy the process. I was always into the process of smoking, and this new hobby allows me to replace my old habbits with something I am excited about. I don't think I would feel that way about some cheap drip tank. We will see how long this lasts, but I haven't even craved a cigarette in 3 days! I think it's working. Just my :2c:

Thank you. I am not mechanically, technically, mathematically or scientifically minded. I do not and will probably never understand resistance, voltage, omh's, etc. and am not interested in mods and such anyway. I just want to quit smoking and think that I maybe could with a personal vaporizer. The addiction is so much more than nicotine and for me the other parts of the addiction are so much of it. The blu does nothing for me though. Kanger EVOD 650mAh Starter Kit and Kanger Mini Protank 2 V2 seem simple enough and do get recommended. But so much even in the beginners part of the forum seems to be too complicated for me.

Please give this a try. I am 6 weeks into vaping. I smoked for 30 years. I too tried the blu type years ago and thought they were nasty. My brother sent me a a Kanger EVOD starter Kit. I smoked 3 cigarettes after I got the pv and gave the full pack less 3 to a coworker. Vaping will change your life. I too find the beginners part of the forum confusing but I've found that YouTube videos are very helpful. I went to 3 different local shops, tried their juices until I found one that I really like. It was the only one that custom blends the e-juice. I usually get add on extra flavor and sometimes a sweetener. The whole process of vaping replaced the process of smoking tobacco cigarettes. I hope you give vaping a try. Life is sweeter when you can breath easier.

For simplicity you might want to consider something like a pack of vision v-nanos and automatic cigalike batteries. That would give you the simplicity of the blu but you can see your liquid and you can put whatever liquid you want in it.

Being someone who likes to take things apart, and build things the eGo twist with smoktech pyrex tanks (uses the same replacement coils as the Kanger) was a step up from the gas station ecigs, and the cheapo plastic tanks I had before, and enough to get me to drop the smoking habit I had for almost 30 years of my life.
But...... Like I said I like to mod things, build things, take things apart, and redesign things. Doesn't matter what it is I have to mess with it, and mod it.
Didn't take me long before I was running mechanical mods, and rebuildable atty's.
WOW!
Now staying smoke free (for me personally) was a new adventure in modding my devices, trying different types of coils, wicking, and now even making my own juice (that's a whole hobby unto itself for me playing with flavors).

I have introduced a few of my (now ex-) smoker friends to ecigs, and even passed on a lot of my starter gear (eGo batteries, and tanks with replaceable store bought coils) to them since I wasn't using it anymore.

Some are natural tinkerer people like myself, and have expressed interest in making their own coils, and juice.
They take to Ohm's law with a smile on their face, and mixing juices like a Hogwart's potions master.

Others don't want to put forth the effort to do so, and maintain their equipment.
This group would rather just spend a few bucks on replacement coils, and store bought juice.

In the end it doesn't matter which group you fall into.
We are all in the 'I want to quit smoking' group, and know what suits our own personalities and schedules.

Run with what works for you.
Vape on.

What is satisfactory to you isn't necessarily satisfactory to all. I've been Vaping for a little over two months, and have already moved up to an SVD with either a helios, Taifun, or EhPro Kayfun lite plus clone. I worked my way up from a simple 3.7v Ego-T, moved on to The iTaste VV, and like I stated previously am now using a SVD until I can get my hands on a Futara. I Used Mini Protank 2's, Aspire bdc's, Vivi Nova's, Iclear 16 and 30s, and was left wanting by all of them. I have done a lot of research, and absorbed a lot of information, but there's always more to learn. I just thought I'd give my two cents. Just because you're new to something doesnt mean you should be relegated to (in my opinion) sub par equipment. If you're willing to jump head first into vaping, and learn as much as possible then you should go for it, although intelligence does help. Though I find myself lacking it sometimes:p

Kudos. I agree with you completely, though I slowly worked my way up. I love fiddling with ...., and RBA's, and vaping fulfill that desire. I haven't smoked since I began vaping, and I was a pretty heavy smoker(began at 16, quit on my 25th birthday)I also chewed, which I have only done once since I started Vaping, and found it disgusting. The smell of cigarettes makes me almost want to vomit. I like to fill my lungs with smoke, and with my ego, and even my iTaste I was having to hold the button until the auto shut off came on. The SVD will do for now, but I am still not fully satisfied. I spent a LOT of cash on cigarettes, so whatever keeps me from slowly giving myself cancer is fine by me.
