Thank you both. I've been lurking a while and so much is so complicated for me.

Vision 510 Nano Clearomizer with a cigalike battery? I thought an ego worked better than cigalikes. I'm about 2 packs a day.

Nicoroshi
But...... Like I said I like to mod things, build things, take things apart, and redesign things. Doesn't matter what it is I have to mess with it, and mod it.

For me only if it's fabric. Machines and technology I leave alone. I also don't know how to properly quote part of a post.

Ha! I don't even have anything as fancy as a twist (next fasttech order) but I'm fine with what I've got. The big thing for me is having enough back ups of EVERYTHING. I've got 8 batteries (cigalike, ego's, and 510's) with more on the way and lots of different cartos, clearo's and tanks with probably enough juice to supply my entire country for a year. So far, I've spent probably about the same amount I would have on cigarettes but what I've got with what's arriving shortly will last a long time and I don't have to panic about things failing or running out and me going back to cigarettes. Now, if I lived somewhere where I could go down the street and buy supplies it'd be a different story but I don't, so I've turned into an vaper prepper!

Yes; in response to this:
Thank you. I am not mechanically, technically, mathematically or scientifically minded. I do not and will probably never understand resistance, voltage, omh's, etc. and am not interested in mods and such anyway. I just want to quit smoking and think that I maybe could with a personal vaporizer.

For simplicity. You could go with a disposable carto, but the typical carto you don't see your liquid; the v-nano is built like a minicartotank with builtin carto and you can refill it; its a good way to quit the cigs; at 2 or 3 dollars for a v-nano and 3 or 4 dollars for an automatic battery it's an easy step; plus the v-nano is 510 threaded so if you get a standard eGo battery you v-nano will work on that too.

I started with a ego-t starter kit I picked up at fishbone, it was alright but I want satisfied and it was only a couple of days till I gave up on that and went back to cigs. What I had didn't give me much flavor and hardly any vapor (I think ima cloud chaser) I jump in with both feet and went strait to a mech mod and a RBA, had it for a couple weeks and I love it.

And my point is that's perfect. :)
Everyone is different, and will have different things they want to get out of vaping.
The common thread is getting off the analogs. That's what's important.

The cigalikes use a battery not unlike a eGo battery or a mechanical mod really.
The difference would be in the mAh (milli-Amp-Hours) of the battery. Basically how long it will last before it needs a recharge.
The higher the mAh the longer it will last.

More important is what you put on top of it IMHO. Some of the clearomizers I have tried had small (and I mean pin hole sized) air holes that made me feel like my head was going to implode trying to get a drag off them, and some like the Kanger protank was much better for me. In the end I found I like adjustable airflow systems like the KayFun 3.1 or the Trident RBA so that I could set it where I was most comfortable. It did take me a while to get there though. In the beginning my lung capacity wasn't what it is now, and the first (tight airflow) cheap plastic tanks I bought were enough to get me off the analogs.

What I have found is my vape is evolving. This may not happen for everyone (we are all different you know).
A good clearo with a decent battery (and I also believe in backups :) ) is a great place to start (or stay depending on what works for you).

Dear noobs, eGo Twists are the gateway battery. You've been warned.

Lol.. I went from a Caravella mechanical mod and two Vamo's with RBA's to a EgO twist with a mini protank..... You're saying I'll be going to cigalikes then back to regular cigarettes next?!?!?!? OMG NOOOO... :)

Thank you. I am not mechanically, technically, mathematically or scientifically minded. I do not and will probably never understand resistance, voltage, omh's, etc. and am not interested in mods and such anyway. I just want to quit smoking and think that I maybe could with a personal vaporizer. The addiction is so much more than nicotine and for me the other parts of the addiction are so much of it. The blu does nothing for me though. Kanger EVOD 650mAh Starter Kit and Kanger Mini Protank 2 V2 seem simple enough and do get recommended. But so much even in the beginners part of the forum seems to be too complicated for me.

That sort of a setup is what I would recommend for beginners, the Evod or an eGo Twist along side a mini protank. If you wish to start vaping, that is a good setup to start with, and you may never need anything bigger. If you're still having problems with one of those setups, ask. The dumbest question is the one never asked.

The beginners area is usually just that, for beginners. Any other conversations should be moved on to another thread. However, since there is a protection against moving on to other subforums, they limited it to five posts before you can move on. This stops spammers. Sometimes you'll get an occasional "experienced" vaper who needs to get his five posts out of the way.

This setup is really all you need for a good vape. If i really want a super vape i will double barrel "redneck dual coil". Please new members dont get carried away with all the mods. mechs and so fourth. My setup i have been using for more than a year....also i get all my jucie from Mount Baker Vapor which is the cheapest online but most of there just needs a good steep b4 using...

So true! All you need.

Thank you. I wanted to just quote part of it without backspacing over a lot. I think of mah as miles per hour because I understand that and 100 mah=1 hour. I spend several hours a day chain smoking in front of the computer. Backup the backup. mtbakervapor.net/e-juice-that-may-break-a-plastic-tank/ Most of those don't look cinnamon or citrus.

Thank you. I really find this to be so confusing.

My husband had a stroke on Xmas morning 3 years ago and we both were told for lack of any other evidence, cholesterol, blood pressure for example. For lack of these they told us it must have been his 30 years of heavy smoking. We quit that day and I love him to much to fail even on the sly so I found myself drawn to e ciggs like njoy or blue. Loved the flavor and pull of the one I chose but was spending at least 20 bucks a day. Had to find a better crutch to remain smoke free and my hubby bought me the twin pack tsunami for xmas. I fellin love with this and met someone who pointed me to the best little vapor shop ever! I spend less now in a week than I ever did in only a day or two and trust me I chain vape. Since I chain puff my ecig , not sure what to call the tank, I don't think I really vape as much as I chain smoke the vapor. For those who believe I traded on vise for another well this is what has happened ... We had to move because the smell on everything made us ill , all our clothes were either cleaned or thrown out and we have much more energy and less breathing problems than ever before. Maybe vaping is not 100 % healthy but it has changed our lives for the better. In my opinion the Tabacco companies and the government did not fully realize the impact ecigs would have on their profit margin. Now that nearly everyone I know is switching there is a scramble to tax the products and control the revenue . The government has been enjoying a pretty penny from the tobacco industries and this is all that is fueling any legislation to tax and control the ecig trade...just my opinion...I have never once had a cigg , I can not stomach the smell or taste and after 3 days I never ever have had a craving for a smoke. Bet the tobacco industry is really focusing on how quickly long term smokers like us are able to kick their products for good.

Please new members dont get carried away with all the mods.

You can't tell someone not to get carried away with mods. If they want a mod, they will get one.

As already mentioned a couple of times in this thread, what works for you may not be satisfying enough for someone else.

Nice pic:)

I've been vaping over 2 years and use 650 mah ( for the smaller length) egos and 650 mah twists and a couple evods. Works great for me. Mini protanks and some CE4? clearos still in use after cleaning and dry burning work great as well.

When I'm not at home direct dripping that is!

That's exactly what I was saying. A person should not be discouraged from doing something that can be potentially fulfilling to them. If a ego-t, and a cheap clearo satisfies you, then more power to you. I'm happy that you are not puffing on a cigarette. Anything but that. Screw Blu though. The owner of that company supports FDA regulation of E-cigs. basically so we are forced to use his product, because blu would be excluded from that category...but that's a story for another thread. Point being...Vape!
