You are WAY too south but the more the merrier. Perhaps group leadership is able to get the name changed and geography won't matter. Huge land mass is Texas though.
I'd be IN for meets in Austin area, centrally located for most everyone.
Any meets is better than no meets, IMHO.

We have a combined North/South Texas group going that has already had one unofficial and one official meet since February. We are working on scheduling more stuff but are still just getting our feet wet at how to plan those things.

Working on that ... I am a teacher with about two weeks left of school (and six performances ... eek!) that I need to get through before I can plan anything but I am thinking something small up here in Dallas mid June just to get more DFW and surrounding peeps involved.

Then I think we are going to have another bigger thing in the Houston area for the WAT group in mid July. We have a member who has generously offered to let us have a get together at his house so hopefully that will get planned in the near future. I would LOVE to have more DFW folks get involved in the bigger group.

I also am a Lubbock native and tend to spend quite a bit of time there in the summers, so maybe I can find some people to get involved up there as well. Trying to take baby steps with all this ... but baby steps aren't my style so we will see how that goes
