New to modding, could use some help.

Hi everyone, some information from someone who knows a little more about electronics would be greatly appreciated. i have made a few 14500 battery box mods with no problems, and now i'm trying to make a 18650 mod. i want to use one of these switches : Tactile Switch with Round Actuator, 300g and realize i need to limit the current so the switch doesn't burn out. also on MV they sell this regulator : LDO 5 volt, 3.0 amp regulator with control pin! Now it says in the description that it can work with 3.7V to use a smaller switch. I just do not know how to wire it up, and what other items i need to make it work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Get your post count up and move to the mod forum. Your going to need to step down your voltage for that switch.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the thoughts. the switch is capable of handling 12v. it's the amperage that i'm concerned about, not the voltage limitations.

I think somebody else had a similar problem not long ago. You could also go to the modding forum and use Search Forum to search for tactile to see if a similar question has been answered or similar setup used.

from what i see if you go with the swicth from 1 to 4 should work

if you haven't got the reg yet i sure when you get to the mod fourm there are cheeper ways to do it
and this would be good for a 5v mod

Thanks for the input. there are so many threads on this forum, with some really knowledgeable people weighing in, that it is almost a little bit confusing at first, getting my bearings and once i drop this question on the mod section, I'm thinking I'll get the information that will really help me pick the right parts and get it up and running reasonably.

what you realy need if you are going to build a 3.7v is a mofet , look at this thead
