My Joytech Cubis is starting to annoy me with it's $3 ea atomizers sometimes only lasting a day. I realize quality control from foreign companies is meh but it seems like these atomizers are getting worse.

So I wander across the asvape cobra as a "$5 with $25 purchase deal" on vapor dna and it shows coil wire, pre made coils, and cotton padding.

What can you guys tell me about moving from simply replacing atomizers to these types of coils? (Ni80) What can I expect?

Thanks

First, that's not an RTA, it takes drop in coils.. the drop down boxes are suggestive sales tools, there is a cost added when you choose wire for instance, from the drop down menu.

If you want to get into RTA's that's fine, and we can suggest some to you after knowing what mod you own, what wattage you like to vape at and whether you vape mtl or dl...

Building your own coils takes some knowledge of ohms law (for safety same) plus you need to buy an ohm meter, wicking material, coil wire, and tools, on top of an RTA that will work for you. There is an initial investment, but it does save you money in the long run.

But it does NOT save you time.. if you don't have time, building your own coils might not be for you..

Here is a basic build video that you can watch:

if you interested in building your own coils, tell us more about your mod and vaping habits and we can make some recommendations for you.

Ah, no I'm not interested in that, thank you for clarifying.

Current setup is a Itaste MVP 3.0 pro with a Joytech cubis.

0.5 ohm coils
37.5 watts
5 volts

All I'm looking for is a new tank, and maybe a new device that is the best bang for your buck in regards to coil price vs quality/quality control.

I usually fill my 3.5ml tank 2-4 times a day with 6%. Not interested in big clouds or anything like that, just wanna get my nic fix and not murder my co workers.

Thank you

As far as the device I'm kinda stumped there as well. I like my MVP 3, it's about as big as I'd ever wanna go, and it's served me well for a few years now. However it's getting to the point where I have to charge that 4500mah battery nighty, and it's slow to charge.

I'd just go buy another but I see the prices haven't dropped a penny over the last few years.

Lol.. just so you know, they make rta tanks for people who vape anywhere from 10 watts to 200... cloud chasing has nothing to do with whether or not you build your own coils.. I do build mine about half the time because it does save money and I'm a tootie puffer (low watt vaper) when I build my own coils I do it on a Kayfun tank (generally speaking).. it's lower wattage mouth to lung, not cloud chasing.

Give me a few to get someone's attention and we will get you some suggestions for a new tank that takes drop in coils.. me and my husband vape lower wattage and my son vapes around 60 watts, so I need to make sure any suggestions I make will work for you.

I appreciate it

From the looks of it the Aspire Triton is going to be the right fit for you as far as tanks go

Aspire Triton 2 Clapton Coil Sub-Ohm Tank

That has lovely versatility and good flavor, and is right in your ball park as far as best vaping wattage. Aspire coils are available everywhere, are reasonably priced and I use them all the time in my Kabuki tank.

A 5 pack of coils you can generally pick up for around 12.00 - 15.00 or so, (your store carries them for 14.00 a 5 pack) and one coil lasts around a week. (5-7 days on average depending on your juice etc.) You will probably be buying one 5 pack a month.

As far as a device, most people around here like the Pico.. it's inexpensive and people seem to love it. iStick Pico Kit by Eleaf for that though you will need to buy (2) batteries and a battery charger..

you may find you might want to stay with what you have, since that has an integrated battery and you already know you like it, but at the same time, having a mod that takes external batteries has serious benefits, and all the newer model mods generally take external batteries, so you may decide you want to get into that aspect now if you can afford to.

Buy this instead:

Aspire Quad-Flex Survival Kit | Four-in-One Versatile System

With some 1.8 Ohm coils:

Aspire Nautilus X Coil - 5 pack | Replacement Coils | VaporBeast

And the 4 ml extension:

Aspire Nautilus X Replacement Glass & Adapter Kit | Accessories | VaporBeast

It's the Aspire Quad Flex Survival Kit. You'll get a Nautilus X MTL tank (uses the 1.8 Ohm atomizers) and all of the tools to turn that into a RTA, a RDTA, and a squonker if you want to get into doing your own coils eventually.

He vapes at 37 watts.. he can't use a 1.8 ohm coil at that wattage, so the nautilus is no good for him.

To be more clear: What I am suggesting is that you go to a lower Wattage vape, that is designed for MTL, that mimics smoking with a higher nic% juice. The kit I linked would also allow you to mess with coils and get a higher Wattage vape but I'm primarily suggesting that you switch to something that more closely resembles smoking.

With the triton tank he can experience higher ohm coils with lower watt vaping, while still keeping the versatility of being able to vape where he's at now, just in case he finds he's comfortable there.

Cool. Sounds like it would work. I bought one of those Quad Flex kits recently and I'm having a lot of fun with it, but whatever works for the guy to keep him off the cigs.

I stick more with trying to pair people with some flexibility where they found keeps them off smokes and let them find their happy place, than trying to push equipment on them that might not work for them.

Holy moly. Thanks for the info guys. I've been looking up the pico. Gonna try to figure out if after buying batteries and a charger if it's still a good deal.

Listo, I haven't smoked since 2012 (check my join date) I don't need to be too concerned about mimicking smoking. I said that to establish the fact that I'm vaping for the nicotine and actually inhaling instead of the 0% vape like a cigar thing the kids do these days. I don't view this as a hobby so every couple years I dive back in and find a new setup.

Ironically enough when wandering the internet I found 0.5ohm Cubis coils for $2 ea. If I wasn't concerned about the battery eventually going on the MVP 3 I'd just go that route.

A couple things about the pico:
- Most people seem to vape that setup at about 60 watts. I am away from home kind of a lot, how many 18650's would y'all suggest I get?

I just started reading into the different types of 18650s. Any wisdom to bestow there?

Thanks guys

I have three Pico 75's. I absolutely Love'em.

The Samsung 25R and Sony 30Q batteries are perfect for this device. My personal preference is two batteries per Pico.

I use Kanger Subtank Minis and Smok Baby Beasts on them and rarely stray above 45w.

The BB's are good little cloud makers and the STM's can do both MTL and DL. The STM's also come with an RBA deck should you get interested in building your own coils.

I can always drop the wattage down to 10-15w and drive my old Protank II's or Kamry X10's for stealth.

Only drawback to the Pico is the 22mm limit on tank diameter.
