New to RTA vaping

good morning all
new to this forum and new to RTA vaping. been vaping for many years now and fancied a change of MOD. i have purchased the hell vape dead rabbit3 and trying to use it on a lost vape Centaurus mod but keeps saying short circuit. any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I wonder if the centre 510 pin on the RTA is long enough to properly connect to the mod, but I'm no expert. Hopefully others who are will be along shortly.

Your coil is probably touching something. The atty is electrically separated into two sides (it’s what that plastic is for) and the power has to run from one side to the other through and only through the coil. Anything messes that up and you have a short. Another possibility is that the coil is so very subohm that the mod can’t detect its resistance, in which case it will register a short even if there isn’t one.

Uh, need some info on your build, as in what is the resistance?

How long are your coil legs?
Did you have a "short" before putting the bell housing over the coils?

I'm sure you have watched a Few Video for building your RTA. But here is one more.

I have both the RDA and the RTA. Your legs are probably too long and touching the deck. Try cutting them to 4mm (Hellvape recommends 5mm), and make sure that when you tighten them, they are slightly suspended above the deck bottom.

The wire should only be pressed against the screw walls, without touching the deck bottom, or it will short. Start by building it in single coil, as it’s easier.

@Izan - Thanks. I know Mallorca very well and love it. We used to Winter there and did a lot of hill walking and cycling and I used to cover the Vuelta a Mallorca for Cycling World Magazine. Sadly age arthritis and Brexit put an end to that.
