Hi, i'm looking for a mod and an rta, i do not like the idea of constantly dripping but like the idea of cheaper coils, i vape regularly throughout the day and was using a alien 220w mod with a baby beast tank but i have maybe dropped my mod one time too many haha, so i'm looking to buy a new mod and an rta, however i am not interested in mechanical mods or mods that can not be charged via micro usb, any suggestions will be very helpful, thanks in advance, i also live in the u.k. so would prefer only uk websites to be buying from, again thanks.
PLEASE HELP, rta and mod advice?

The Smoant Charon 218w plus the Serpent SMM would be a fitting choice...i do hope you're building your own coils, way much cheaper than buying replacement coils..just check if UK stores have them as im not from there [emoji6]

i can agree that the serpent smm looks great, but i'm not sure on the smoant, i'm not too sure what it is but something throws me off it, and yes, i'll definitely be making my own coils haha

The biggest issue will be buying a tank bigger than 2ml.
Sure, there are 2ml tanks out there with extender this and larger tank that, but most of them use factory coils.
Your best bet (I would say) is to order a decent 3.5ml minimum RTA from China.
Or search the more grey areas of the internet for a larger tank or two. There'll also be thousands of tanks out there no longer being used by people (like Kanger Subtanks with RBAs etc.)
Depending on the power you like to vape, there are things like Aromamizer or Serpent or Griffin or Engine... it goes on and on....

@djsvapour looking on ukecigstore online there seems to be a lot of massive tanks, not to my liking tbh they're too tall, i usually stick around 50-100w
I own a serpent SMM and to me the flavor is lacking. My go to daily RTA is the Reload RTA. It’s a bit pricy, but well worth it. Easy to build on and the flavor is great on it. If you want to go a bit cheaper with decent flavor the Troll RTA is a good option as well.
SMM would fit flush on a Minikin 1.5 boost. Been vaping on mine for a couple days and I love it. It's a redone version of the original. All the naggling issues have been fixed. 2x 18650 @ 155W. Has the USB charging option.

I do not have the Smoant mod, so I can't comment. I rather like the RX series mods, though; I think I have 3 of the RX200s and there are other models. I will also second the Serpent SMM tank. I reviewed it for the board here, and did not find it lacking in flavor or anything else. I think you'll also find the major Chinese online retailers-- Fasttech, Elegomall, etc.-- all ship to the UK. Welcome to the board.

I'm a mod noob and know nothing about rta but when I was looking for a box mod I was initially drawn to the Alien but apparently Smok is having issues with their stuff's lifespan. I went with the eLeaf iKonn which seems an awful lot like an Alien clone, but without the smok issues and with ello tank coils that cost a quarter of what the baby beast ones do.
What RTA’s have you compared the flavor to? I speak from personal knowledge being the owner of quite a few RTA’s that I personally use and the SMM doesn’t compare to even some of the 30mm RTA’s I own.
...and to the OP, stay away from the WISMEC products as they are pure junk. I have owned several of their products and the 510’s alone would keep me from ever owning another one. Keep in mind you get what you pay for, so don’t waste your money on subpar products or companies that do not stand behind their products. WISMEC being one of them.
For me, you can't beat OBS Engine Nano. I also have SMM, IMO Nano has better flavor. I will say SMM deck is great. I have Smoant Charon tc paired with Nano and very happy with both.
If that isn't a wide open question that has one million answers.
It might help to narrow it down quite a bit. First, for charging via the USB, I highly suggest a single battery mod. most mods out there don't balance charge easily if they take 18650's. So, for reliable charging via USB, I'd recommend either a built in battery, or a single battery mod.
You say you vape between 50-100 watts. For that, I do recommend a built in battery or a 2+ battery mod with an external charger.
Now, something comes to mind when I read your post, if you're going from a pre-built coil to a RTA, chances are you might find a preferred vape with totally different settings as your pre-built coils. I friends running baby beasts running a .2 ohm coil at 70 watts, but I pull out my .7 ohm coil in an RTA running at 30 watts, and they say my RTA produces more flavor, and just as much vapor as theirs. I think it's a mixture of wicking and coil making, but it does show that an RTA can produce a better vape with the same stats.
As far as what RTA I'd recommend, well, I will just say what I use, and that's a goblin mini or a Griffin. Neither of those atomizers are for everyone, but it's what I like. I prefer bottom fill to avoid any vacuum issues. both the griffin and goblin are fairly easy to wick leak free. Another tank I like that has both pre-built coils and an RTA, is the TFV4... the newer versions are probably better, but it's what I have. It is a big tank.
I like my tfv4 better than any of smok's newer tanks. If I were going to charge USB would probably go with p80 paired with Nano or SMM.
Broke out tfv4 so I can clean rta's. Been a few months. I still genuinely enjoy the vape off T3 coils. Only have 8 left. Think I'll order few more packs.
