Hi all, just got my fist vv mod, a Provari and using it with a J-tank and 3.0 boge. I'm loving this thing so far, I've had the same carto on my vari for about 7 days now and wondering if it's time to switch to a new cart, how can u guys tell if it's time? flavor drop off? Less vapor? Ohms increasing? Also, do U guys clean your slotted/punched cartos and reuse? Thanks in advance for all the help!

Welcome to the provari club. I love mine. I use a tank with 2.0 dual coil cartos and I put in a fresh one every other day. I know alot of people use the same one for weeks but personally I love the fresh carto vape. Also they are cheap enough that cleaning isn't worth the trouble to me. I am sure others will share their routines.

You can always try washing it and seeing if it comes back. A quick test on the meter will tell you if you should use it again. I tape up the slots to get a good flush through the carto and then take the tape off and repeat to make sure I haven't left any tape residue behind. And a good wipe around all the outside with alcohol. As usual, you will know when it's time. Harder pulls, drop off in vapor and flavor, etc. If it stays good until the ohms increase, well, there is nothing yo can do to bring it back down unless it's just a gunky coil raising the resistance. Even then, you may never get that gunk off.

Couldn't agree more. Some cartos I get 1 day and some 3 days out of them. Once the flavor gets muted or vapor decreases, it's time for a change. As far as cleaning goes, I have a bunch of cartos I have save, but I don't know if I will ever get to cleaning them.
7 days and still vaping. That's pretty good. Like you stated, flavor drop off, decreased vapor, and also a very tight draw, are indicators its time for a new carto. I do clean my punched cartos for reuse. Do a search for "carto cleaning" and you will find several methods.

I think that when it's time to change the carto, you'll know. I'll keep using my carto in the tank, upping the voltage to compensate for the increasing resistance, until one of the following happens:

- cartomizer stops working
- vapor no longer tastes good
- the juice around the holes or slits is darker than the juice in the rest of the tank

I'm about to try some Bobas bounty for the 1st time and wondering if I should punch 3 holes instead of the 2.

I would start with 2 holes. Find out if that works first. I have never read of anyone punching 3 holes in a carto. IMHO It would most likely flood. I could be wrong though.
