New to the forum and to vaping

Hello everyone,
New to the forums here and to the vaping world. After smoking analogs for 30+ years I quit around four years ago. Was scheduled for back surgery and the surgeon said my back would never heal if I didn't quit. So I toughed it out and quit cold turkey. HARDEST thing I've ever done in my life but I made it. Unfortunately, my back didn't heal properly anyway and I'm now disabled. So out of sheer boredom I've made the plunge into E-cigarettes. I always said if they made a cigarette that didn't kill me I'd smoke forever.....so it seems they've made a death free cigarette(or the closest thing).

Hope you all are doing well and having good luck in your various endeavors to quit smoking. HARD thing to accomplish but worth it.....

Peace....

Welcome to the forum! I'm with you, I never wanted to quit smoking I just didn't want it to kill me. I guess that's why my attempts at quitting always failed -- it's true what they say, you have to really want to quit. I just never really wanted to quit, now with ecigs I don't have to anymore, I can use it forever... hooray! :)

Welcome to the forum...I'm relatively new also, but rest assured that the learning curve is drastic! I quit on January 3rd of this year for a few reasons...1) I'm a nurse and I was constantly a hypocrite to my patients, 2) I have two beautiful daughters who deserve a daddy that doesn't stink and will be around for a while, 3) My wife said I had to quit, and 4) I was recently diagnosed with a form of RA called Ankylosing Spondylitis that is trying to shut my body down... Since I quit I have plunged into vaping with a passion...It satisfies my craving and gives me an opportunity to learn more which keeps my mind occupied on long sleepless nights (when my youngest daughter who is 2 months old is sleeping :) ) It is 100% worth it

Welcome to the ECF forums. Congratulations on your decision and best of luck with it. I have only been vaping for 13 days and have been analog free for 4 days. This has truly been a godsend and I applaud anyone willing to give it a try. As stated, the learning curve is huge, I really don't know anything compared to what there is to know but if you are dedicated to the switch I think it will be a wonderful thing. Keep us posted on your progress.

Great choice. I love my KR8's. Nice warm vape and it's the most supported 2-piece threading for cartomizer types. Be sure to check out Vapor4Life for prefilled carts and accessories. I think (not sure) their spring 25% off sale is still on today - code is SPRING25 (3 day sale and it was still on yesterday). I like that WOWbacco (it's a very dark chocolate tobacco, mostly dark chocolate to me, and WOWBoy is the same w/ some mint added) and their WOW Vanilla is a sweet marshmallowy vanilla. I know somebody liked their Cowboy (Marlboro-alike I think). Their cartos are all soft-caps so easy to add juice. Just be extra careful if you bought auto batteries - auto batteries of all models are dependent on a drag sensor in the threaded end and that's right where a carto would drip - it is possible to kill auto batteries with drips. After you add juice to a carto make sure the center air channel is clear of juice (I puff into the threaded end), make sure the threaded end is clean and dry, and sop up any loose juice above the juice. That should prevent both sputters and drips.

That's all fine and good, but what I said still holds true. I for one think it's healthier. But we can't possibly know what the long term effects are going to be. That's why I stick with the answer I give. It's the truth. One day we'll know for sure. Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for ecigs whenever I can. I just hate to tell people,"Have at it, no worries.", when I don't know.
