Hi, ECF! I’m Cody, I’m a singer/musician, and hopefully a soon to be ex smoker. I just invested in an eGo-T starter kit, and I really like what I’m seeing so far, minus a few things here and there. It came with the disposable tanks that have the atomizer in them, and a 10mg bottle of e-juice (I picked out a grape flavor with 24mg of nicotine. Love the nicotine content and the flavor.), and the battery and charger. I’ve read through the newbie sticky threads and all of that, and I am pretty sure I have a good grasp on how all of this stuff works, but what I AM having trouble understanding is the more advanced stuff. I’m not really comfortable with the disposable tips with the built in atomizer. I bought an extra one to go along with the one that came in the kit, and that one is holding up better than the one provided, but that’s really beside the point. I don’t like that the tank itself is going to burn out and that it isn’t reusable over a long period of time, along with the tank size itself. I want a tank that is reusable that you can clean and reuse and has a larger size. And don’t get me started on what I’m reading about the different atomizers and drip tips and all of that jazz. You could call me 100% lost in the wild on this one, and I need some help finding my way back. I need some help finding information about mixing and matching, and making my ecig a little more advanced and personalized, so if someone could help me out by leading me to links, giving me insight on what goes with this specific type of battery, and what I really need to know. Thanks so much!

I've suggested this a bunch of times so I feel like a broken record but I can't say enough good things about the Kanger EVOD tank for new vapers! It may not be the biggest but it is worth every penny. Also just for the record I don't think there is any tank out there that won't burn out eventually. The best thing is to consider how expensive replacements coils are or how hard it would be to rebuild a coil yourself.

Kanger Evod Clearomizers

That is just one place of many that you can get them (I've ordered twice from DV and they are excellent). The EVOD has great flavor, vapor production and is simple, reliable, tough and have inexpensive replaceable coils. I bought an EVOD starter kit over six weeks ago and have only used one of the tanks that came with it. It has not leaked a drop despite a daily refill. They just work and work well. It will fit on your ego-t no problem and look good doing it too!

Best of luck!

Hi Cody and welcome this tank will work for you very simple , excellent flavor . You will need replacement heads for it as well , for your battery the 1.8 ohms will be best . Aspire Vivi Nova-S BDC Glassomizer $10.99 - VividSmoke.com

    Hi Cody,

Welcome! The ego battery is a pretty standard battery, almost any tank will work on it. That said, the tank you end up liking will be the one that works best for you. Vaping really is a personal thing, people will argue for hours over the best battery, tank, juice, etc. As for what to try, here are some general tips and what works for me.

For starters, top coil tanks were pretty much the standard for a long time, until pretty recently anyways. These are tanks like the T2, T3, iClear 16/30, etc. Basically they are tanks with visible wicks hanging into the tank.

Bottom coil tanks are tanks like the Kanger Protank series, EVODs, iSmoka BCC, etc. There are also clones of most tanks too, some better, but most worse, than the original tank they were cloned from.

As you have obviously been reading up on these things, the coils themselves are the biggest difference between the tanks. The lower the ohm the hotter the coil will burn. Most tanks come with a 2.6 ohm coil as this is a pretty versatile resistance for most standard batteries. You can also get them (usually) in 1.8 and 2.2 ohm versions. Personally I like the 2.2 ohm coils, they seem to be the most versatile for me. I also keep a box on hand of the 1.8 ohm coils ... just in case.

I use the Protank II (2.5ml) with a 2.2ohm coil, and the iSmoka Mega BCC tanks (3.5ml) with a 1.8 OR 2.2 ohm coil (I have several of these). I personally have never been happy with a coil rated higher than 2.2 ohms. I have tried many tanks over the last 8 or 9 months, but these are the 2 that work best for me. I would recommend staying away from the Kanger Unitank because it seems to kill juice flavor, at least my juices lose flavor in them. I would also stay away from the EVODs, many people like them, but I have 2 and they have been nothing but trouble since day one.

I'm only going to give you a single link; Vape Dojo it is an awesome site. They have most of the tanks I use, and several I don't. To really make it great, they also seem to have some of the cheapest prices on the 'Net. The owners are awesome and will do what ever they can to help folks succeed.

    YMMV

    and HTH ...

    Hi!

Let's try to unconfooz a couple things.

With a real eGo tank kit there are two parts you need to replace. The tank atomizer - just because they do wear out with use. The plastic tanks that hold your liquid - just because those end caps can be fussy and after so many reinsertions back onto they atty they can leak. All these devices have parts that need replacement from use.

The good part is you have an eGo threaded battery there. So any device that says it has either eGo or 510 threads can be used on your battery.

You may want to consider a ProTank Mini for an eGo battery. The Mini, because it's the same diameter as your battery so it makes for a nice look. You could get the larger ProTank, but it is bigger in diameter and looks kinda kludgy on an eGo battery. A Mini holds 1.6 ml's of liquid, a full size ProTank holds 2.5 ml's.

    See here for examples:

Kanger mini Protank II (Static Tip) | Sun-Vapers.comSun-Vapers.com

Kanger Protank II Fully Modular Glassomizer with changeable glassSun-Vapers.com

With ProTanks you have coil assemblies in them that produce your vape. Similar to an eGo tank setup - those need to be replaced on a regular basis.

As other have said, the good news is you have an Ego battery, so just about every vaping device you choose fits it. It has "ego" threads, the threads on the outside, and "510" threads, the threads on the inside near the battery connector. Personally I would go with a glass tank of your choice so you don't have to ever think about what e-liquids break down plastic tanks. It's not mandatory though, because your choices are more numerous with plastic tanks.

If you are going on a juice tasting spree.. I would suggest a glass tank vs a plastic tank. I love my EVODs but because my juices I like to vape are known tank crackers I stick with Glass tanks. I use Mini Protank 2 with removable drip tip because I love to customize my tanks look. These tanks that everyone is suggesting will last much longer as you will only need to replace the atomizer which are very easy to do. They just screw onto the base.. if using a bottom coil. The tanks suggested are a little more expensive but they will last you miles longer than a disposable tank.

    Hi Cody,
I may be different than a lot of people as I started right off the bat with Vision Spinner VV 1300 mah battery, a Kanger pro tank 2, a charger, and a 5 pack of coils. All for about $60.00 and I've never looked back. I skipped all the junk that they sell at the gas stations juices included. I am very happy with my setup, and have not had a cigarette in over 6 months. the hardest (most expensive) thing for me was finding the right juices. DON' GIVE UP!
