Most important. I think you just need to ease up on your vaping your going to put yourself in a bad spot. No one said you HAD to quit smoking "real" cigs" so until your more used to vaping smoke a regular cig from time to time. I worried your going to make yourself VERY sick. e-liquid is NOT a toy and should be respected.
I think it is pretty much impossible to OD on nicotine by using an electronic cigarette.
The body is going to MAKE you stop long before you reach any point of crisis.

Drinking a bottle of juice, on the other hand, is a VERY bad idea.

Actually, I find it very easy to OD on nic juice. Especially if you are sucking drops into your mouth and the nicotine strength is in the 25mg range. A few drops at a time and pretty soon you've swallowed quite a bit. OD as in death? No, that's not what I mean, but enough to induce gastric upset, definitely! Even enough to pass out. Sometimes when I'm working with my DIY juices, I get too much on my hands and/or swallow too many drops by one means or another, and I have to go lay down. It's kind of like being drunk! I don't vomit easily, but nicotine does give me hiccups easily, and heartburn. And the spins!!

I hope I can say this without creating any animosity, I'm only trying to help.

Generally, at least from what I've seen, mixing is supposed to be done carefully (wearing gloves, etc.). I am sure when you buy premixed juices, the folks that mix them wear all sorts of protective equipment. Especially when handling higher strength nicotine extract.

I don't mean to be an alarmist, and don't mix juices myself, but if you have to repeatedly go lay down, you might want to consider being more cautious. Just my "newbie" 2 cents worth. Please take this in the spirit it was intended, its not meant in any was as a "chastisement", but rather a "wow, dude, be careful" :)

Amy,
You seem like a really sweet person. Welcome to the 'easy way to be an ex-smoker' club.

In one of your threads you mentioned not spending a lot of money.
E-cigs are a strange deal. As someone else said, "you trade a habit for an obsession".

I say this because in 6 short weeks, I did move through several devices to seek my goal of performance, reliability, and convenience.

If a $100 device looks to be your answer, and they are a supplier on this forum, then its probably going to be a good purchase for you. This forum can help substantiate any questions you have about a product.

Otherwise, the cheap route will have you temporarily satisfied, but soon enough, disappointed.

Consider some of the 10 minute reviews by Grimmgreen.com as well as other.

I personally took the route of a Reo mini. A small box with a bottle of juice that lasts all day. A quick squeeze of the bottle shoots some juice into the atomizer and its good for a few puffs. I haven't found anything simpler or better in performance.
I was hung up on the idea of not having a device that was a ciggy-like cylinder. This hang-up quickly passes.

Good luck...and quit drinking the juice!!

Hi Amy! I'm not sure if this issue has been addressed yet or not because I can't read all the replies to your post. I have a Joye 510 and one thing I have found with it is that I get a much better TH if I hold down the button for a second and very slowly and lightly suck on it while the button is held down for about 3-4 seconds. I get a better hit and more vapor. I am completely and totally satisfied with my 510 and have no intentions of modifying it other than perhaps the filler in the cartridge because I am able to get good hits and vapor by using this method. I hope I was able to help you a little.

Oh Amy I am so sorry that I never saw this post! You live so close to me and I certainly would have helped you.

oh it's ok I was thoughtless and didn't think to get in touch with you either. I was pretty sick for those 2 days though! OMG the night I puked was awful, can you imagine trying to projectile vomit into a cereal bowl? yeah I know lots of people who would loved to have seen that and then laugh their butts off at me. Things are better and I'm trying to figure out what to order...need to do it now but I'm at work and so sleepy I just can't think straight...that's what I get for not sleeping my usual amount today! I think someone linked me to a Riva that's in stock so I'm gonna try to stay awake and go check it out.

Hiya, Amy! I did a quick check and didn't see any Rivas, but cignot (https://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-ego-all.htm) has the ego, which is the same thing, just rebranded for cignot. (Comes in PINK, too :) )

ok now I'm totally ferclumpted about what to do. Liberty flights has the Rivas in now but only in black, I've been sad about needing to upgrade my Joey 510 cause as my brother said when he first saw me with it "it totally looks like YOU!" so a pink would still give me a little bit of girly feel...sigh so many decisions
Thanks for your help!

Hi that's a great post and there is MUCH good feedback here. I'll keep my reply simple.

I have had some smiler symptoms with my 510. Like me and others that have replied to you I think some of of are just big smokers and not all e-cigs are designed for that. I still use a 510 but only when I'm out and about or when I need to be discreet. I purchased the "tank" add on for my 510 and that made a BIG difference for me, it's the only way to fly for me.

Also i upgraded to a eGo-T for home and driving around. The eGo-T is amazing and is suited for a heavy smoker.

Most important. I think you just need to ease up on your vaping your going to put yourself in a bad spot. No one said you HAD to quit smoking "real" cigs" so until your more used to vaping smoke a regular cig from time to time. I worried your going to make yourself VERY sick. I know right? this place has awesome people with so much great advice!
And no nobody said I had to stop analogs right now...well except myself. I just made some noob mistakes and got more juice in my mouth/on my skin than I should have. I've learned my lesson well! Thanks for the info and support!

Well guys I can't thank you all enough for all the help and information! I made a few noob mistakes that I won't be making again. I'm looking into the Riva but until then cleaning of my atty's and slowing down is helping a lot. I realized as an analog smoker I was always in a rush to finish it because of one thing or another...with the PV I need to slow down and take long slow hits, doing this has even brought back some of the TH I was missing.
Thanks again! I'm telling every smoker I know about ECF! cause you people rock! :headbang:

You've gotten some good advice. I hope it has helped. You mentioned being in a rush to finish cigarettes and having to slow down with vaping. I know exactly where you're coming from there! I have found that vaping actually helps in that department. With a busy schedule like you probably have it helps reduce your stress level because you have to slow down, :)

I'd like to add a few more words of advice. First of all, we all have days when for some unknown reason we just don't seem to get the throat hit and flavor we normally do. That is one reason I like to vary the flavor of my juices. It seems to happen to me more frequently if I vape the same flavor too much.

The advice you received to try out cartomizers was absolutely correct! They vape much more consistently with less hassle than cartridges. I see you are looking into a Riva or larger battery ecig. That is a good idea as well. If you go with the larger battery, I strongly suggest you try the low resist boge 2.0 cartomizers. With standard resist cartos I was still getting some popping which I found annoying. The low resist just seem to vape better for me and give me a better throat hit. I also use a drip tip with my cartomizer. It feels better in my mouth, plus it puts my mouth farther from the carto filler which prevents accidentally sucking up any juice into my mouth if I overfill it accidentally.

I have to tell you that I experienced some episodes of vomiting like you described. It was horrible! Worse than I ever experienced with the flu. I'm talking scenes from the Exorcist! It turns out I am allergic to cinnamon flavored juices.

The other pages of the thread aren't pulling up for me right now so if someone else suggested this I'm sorry. As far as the atomizer/cart part they have you covered.... I didn't see if anyone recommended you get 1 or two bottles of higher nic flavors...? I mention this because on day 4 for men nothing I did seemed to get me a satisfying vape... finally I used some of hubby's liquid which is about 6mg higher than mine.... voila! satisfaction. I vaped on that for an hr or so then went back to mine and so far have stayed there. Nicotine level affects the throat hit too it's not all the pg.

yes the help I've gotten here is just amazing! yeah I've realized I need to slow down with vaping but I'm having so many problems with my Joey 510 that my stress level is still up pretty high. Once I get my new upgrade I think things will be better because I won't be fighting with it and having to hit so hard just to get a hit. I love vaping but I really should have done a little more research before I bought. As a heavy smoker and apparently a heavy vaper a Joey 510 was not a wise purchase!

I have to tell you that I experienced some episodes of vomiting like you described. It was horrible! Worse than I ever experienced with the flu. I'm talking scenes from the Exorcist! It turns out I am allergic to cinnamon flavored juices.

yeah it was pretty bad, but I'm rather proud of myself for managing to keep the most of it in my cereal bowl until I could make it to the bathroom.

thanks, and no it wasn't suggested but I did discover it for myself while at my brother's this morning. I used his 36mg and it was better, still not what I want but I'm playing around with things and I'm about to order a new kit. Before I order more juice I've got to go back and look at the PV/GP info...I don't care so much about vapor output as I do TH and flavor...gotta find my sweet spot I guess.
Thanks for the help!

I got an ego (in pink) from puresmoker it's 49.99 $5 shipping and they have BOGE cartos for cheap ($1.49 each) I looove the ego and Puresmokers customer service is epic. They have a lot of good juices too and include a free sample with the ego kit. Btw their juice is either 75/25 or 70/30 PG/VG I forget. Ego comes in black stainless steel red pink and blue. They are the only shop I use!
Good luck Sweety!

I just checked and the PINK is instock oh and the shipping is flat rate ($5) so buy the kit and cartos and maybe some juice samples (they have 6ml bottles for 4.99 it's not the cheapest juice out there but it's good and might as well make the most of the flat shipping lol)

Amy, I have been religiously following this thread since day one. You've got to deliver us the punch line and tell us what type of kit you end up getting. The suspense is killing me. :)

FYI: I found that I needed two nic levels to keep me happy and satisfied without going back to cigs. I keep two rivas always around, ready to go. One has 18mg nic of my favorite juice in 50/50 PG/VG and I vape that early and often. It's very satisfying and relaxing. The other one has 24mg PG of strong tasting tobacco flavor that hits really hard and I vape that for high stress or real quick nic fixes. This system works well for me. Your results may vary.
