Hello there forum members . Just recently I found out about e cigs and vaping. I was wondering if you guys could give me some info on what I would need to get started, and the best way to approach this without prurchasing stufff that would be useless in he future. And good vendors here in Vancouver or Canada? There are so many e cigs out there I wanna get the right one to start. Should I get a vv? Ty for your time and help it is greatly appreciated.

Welcome N1tro; Holy cow soooo many choices. I started with an Ego-T 1000mAh batteries, but have since given up on the atomizer/tank but love the batteries. Putting a low resistance cartomizer on the Ego batteries is good, Boge LR cartomizer, as well as a new gizmo called a Visions Ego Stardust.(sorta feels like a tank)
GotVapes VISION eGo Stardust 1.4ml Top Coil Carto 2.5-2.7 ohm [gv-visionstardust-2.5] - $7.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
I'm trying out a ProVari and a VMod XL now......
I am sure you will gather a bunch of ideas here as others chime in.
Good Luck

The different levels of nicotine are 6. 12, 18, 24 and 36 mg. Most begin with 18 or 24 mg. I started with 36 and am now down to 20 mg.
I went straight to a Magalodon because it was mechanical, had long batt life (20 hrs) and was quality. The VV range from $70- $300? and you can dial the amount of voltage you want giving a warmer hit and more vapor. If you don't get a VV then make sure you get manual batts because: they are less peone to damage from juice and puts YOU in control of the vaping experience. Here's an ECF listed Cdn vendor run by a highly respected ECF member vendor with a low end LavaTube VV- seems to have some great reviews:
Lavatube lavatube variable voltage personal vaporizer vv pv

Understand in regards to batteries: 100 mah= 1 hr vaping before recharge.

Welcome to ECF N1tro. Good choice you've made for yourself. You'll get many suggestions for hardware and juice but what I think you need to do is when you buy, buy back ups and back ups for your back ups. At least two of everything including your battery charger.

There is a wealth of information here. Read as much as you can and ask questions. Yes, we've heard the same questions a thousand times. But, the good people here don't care how many times they have to answer it because it's you that is asking.

Become a water drinker if you are not already. I can't stress this enough. And . . have fun with this! :)

Welcome aboard, N1tro!

I smoked a 1.5 packs of Camel Blue 99s per day and just skipped the little cigarette sized e-cigs entirely. I purchased an E-Power 14650 in November and I'm loving it. Any of the better 510 mods are a good choice. They are larger units of course, but many like the E-Power will fit into a jeans pocket. Nice thing about about the E-Power is the 3.7V that provides a lot of vapor and flavor and the standard rechargeable 14650 batteries. At 1050Ah or better, they will provide you with a day of vaping before needing a recharge.

I recommend Hoosier for the E-Power 14650 because he carries this mod with the superior blue LED switch.

Wow thanks to everyone who replied with there suggestions and so quick. I searched around this site a lot but still needed some help as I found it confusing cuz I'm not farmiler with all the terms and e cigs out there. So ego huh I've read good and bad things about it. I guess it would be a good start but Im reading and seizing that a lot of ppl get egos or Rivas to start off wih and end up getting something else in the future . A vv? Is this an advanced e cig should I not start off with it as im fairly new to this? Or would it be good and save me a lot of time messing with starter e cigs? Thx again for everyone that replied your replays have all been helpful!

Hi N1tro! I too am taking the leap and should be recieving my gear very soon. There are thousands and thousands of posts to take your time poking through that will slowly start making sense. There are some fantastic FAQ's and stickies at the top of this forum and others that will have answers to questions you haven't even thought of yet! Whenever you hit a roadblock or something that doesn't make sense, just ask. The folks in here have been extraordinary in helping me and many others make the right choices. Just be aware that it will likely take a few days to get your head around things such as the different types and the myriad parts that are available. I strongly recommend you check out the reviews, especially the videos. You will see the devices being used in anger and that helps alot. Poke around the suppliers sites as well. For the most part I believe(?) they are also members and every single one I have contacted has been extremely helpful and some of the best retailers I have had the pleasure to talk to.

If you need to ask some stupid questions (I did) feel free to PM me (click on my name and select private message) and I should be able to find someone who knows the answer, or if in a hurry just pop in here and ask. With something so new, no question is too stupid -- as long as you dont ask the same one 5 or 6 times! ;) Pop into the Canadian forum once you get 5 posts under your belt and say hello.

Best of luck fellow noob!

If I were you I would at least get a KGO, Riva or eGo BUT I would make absolute sure the batteries were at least 1000 mah. Any of these are a high end starter kit and even if you decide to upgrade at a later date a backup PV is a must in case your main PV needs repairs, batts, charger, etc. When you've decided on a PV post the model and we'll find a discount code for that model. It also helps if you can also order additional accessories from the same site and save on shipping. At this point you may think saving a few bux here and there is no worry but believe me you'll be surprised at how quickly the costs can amass if not careful. First 2 months and I've spent $500+ and that's the low end of vapers here.

Traditional e cig ? Meaning looks like a smoke? I want something that will last me so I won't need to purchase multiple e cigs. Or do you guys recommend starting off with something easy at first ?

Hey N1tro. Welcome to ECF.
You have definitely found the right place to ask questions BEFORE you buy anything.
Don't worry too much. This stuff falls into place fairly quickly. Study the terminology that Vapoor Eyes Er linked.
A lot of people go with an Ego-style PV because it blends a long charge time, ease of use, and options available.

You should stick to a 2-piece design. That is 1) a battery and 2) a cartomizer.

The battery: There are two things that matter on the battery.
1) Charge time - this is dictated by the mah. 100 mah = 1 hour vaping time
2) Voltage - This will determine how hot or cool the vapor is.

The cartomizer: There are many things that vary between different models, but for now, just worry about the resistance, measured in ohm. Low resistance (2.0) will give you a warm vapor, whereas a higher resistance cartomizer (3.0) will give a cooler vapor in comparison.
The word cartomizer comes from the marriage of the atomizer and cartridge. The atomizer is what gets hot and vaporizes the juice. The cartridge holds the juice using polyfill (looks like cotton fluff) and feeds the atomizer.

If you put a low resistance cartomizer on a high voltage battery, you will get a very hot vapor. If you put a high resistance cartomizer on a low voltage battery, you will get a cooler vapor, and vapor production will decrease.
