Hey all, I have recently made the switch from analogs to e-cigs. I chose to go with blu to start because i tried a disposable and it actually helped me cut WAY back on analogs, so I decided to pick up a starter kit and i have't looked back since. However over the week of vaping I've run into a few questions that I would appreciate help with.
First of all, I really really love the blu classic tobacco flavor, but lately it seems that my cartridges stop producing the flavor and leaves a really weird taste in the back of my mouth. It is not really a burning or metallic taste like I have read about. This happens after the first 1-3 "sessions" about 4 minutes a piece, spread out 1-2 hrs apart. I don't know if its maybe me being dehydrated or "getting used" to the flavor or if i just keep getting dud cartos. I'm on #7 already and all of them have done this or given a burnt taste or just plain give off unflavored vapor. I really wish I could describe the taste I get but I just can't (thankfully) relate it to anything, I mean I guess it could be slightly metallic. Really I'm just trying to figure out how to make the flavor I like so much last the whole carto. The vanilla ones will literally last me a full 2 days at least of normal use.

The other question I have is just "maintenance" on my e-cigs. Like how to store cartos that don't fit in my PCC upright or on their side, how often to clean batteries, general tips and tricks to keep the enjoyment there and to keep me fully away from analogs, because sadly I still go back to them though it is only 3-4 max a day instead of 15-20 like it was before.

I have also ordered a joyetech 510 for the better battery and the manual battery, seperate atomizer, and TRULY refillable carts. And ordered some e-liquid to go along with that.

Thanks all in advance!

Welcome, callit! Glad to see you've taken a step away from analogs. Honestly, the best answer to your questions is to just toss that whole blu setup as soon as your 510 arrives. Once you see the difference you'll never go back...and hopefully it will keep you off the cigs as well.

If you like the blu tobacco flavor, I'd try one of the Johnson Creek tobacco blends or a juice called Tampa from Vaporstation.com, it tastes really close (and is the closest to a real cigarette flavor that I've found). In any case, good luck and happy vaping!

Welcome to ECF and Congrats.
It could be anything. Whenever I experience something like you described, It's usually a high power output cause by a connection issue between ato and battery
I used 2 disposable blus. And order my ego set from fasttech because it was the same thing like analog ($10 a day) .
I would recommend bright or turkish tobacco . Plain tobacco flavors close to sh**y analogs :)
I've smoked for 10 years 1-1.5 pack a day I can't smoke 24mg . It is going to be cheaper than blu.

Is there any way to fix the high power output in the meantime, I just ordered my 510 yesterday so I will have to wait a bit before I can start with that. And yeah I like turkish tobacco a lot but I do like classic tobacco I'm a full flavor smoker (Marlboro blend 27s), so it's nice to have still for now at least.

Awesome thank you! I will look into that place you mentioned. And I have ordered Johnson Creek Domestic, from the research I done, that will be great for me.

The blu helped me but only after discovering refilling the cartos with aftermarket juice. After rocking the blu for a few months I came to a realization that the battery life and performance was barely enough to stave off my cravings. I bought some ego c batteries and a couple clearomizers and discovered everything I was missing. My biggest gripe with the Blu was just how unpredictable the performance the cartridges were, seldom good for more than a few sessions and I only found the coffee flavor tolerable. When you get your new battery, check you local shop for clearomizers, I do have a DCT but I wouldn't totally recommend that for a new user as priming them is a pain and when they flood it can be quite discouraging.

Would you be able to give me some advice on refilling the blu cartos? I took the top off and figured out how to do so but would just like some tips on doing so.

Well congrats on making the switch and I am here to help and get help. Whatever mistakes I make I try to share on here so people do not make the same ones I do, Like do not order Bacon flavored vape no matter how tasty it sounds

Haha I appreciate the advice on bacon vape. And i think I will pick up one of those katana kits real soon, looks nice and easy and pretty basic. I like that, not too overwheming! :) thanks! Appreciate the advice and welcoming!

Hi and welcome , I started off with the blu and had the same issues with them so I quickly moved on however if you still want to get some use of your blu check out jetcigs.com they sell carts for the blu that are way more consistent and at a better price.

Awesome thank you! I will definitely check out jetcigs.

You have so many choices, you'll see soon
I used to smoke Marlboro too . There is a liqua traditional tobacco.
I'm recommending Liqua all time because I save some money for high quality juices by purchasing liqua ($5 for 30ml) as tobacco flavors that I chain vape. Now I enjoy mixed liquids without or with low (6mg) nic .

Let me ask you this
take a look at this site
if you feel like you want to own one or you think that you would spend sometime on your device, don't spend another penny on egos or starter kits.
spend some time in forum , read reviews ,watch tutorials(youtube) , learn basics of vaping(VV/VW,Ohms law, coils)
