New to vaping, just got the eGo C kit yesterday, I feel like something is wrong (a slight sharp/harshness to the vape)

I tried the C tanks out of curiosity and they were better than the T tanks by far, but still too many dry or burnt tasting hits for my taste. Switched full time to dripping with a LR atty as the TH and vapor production is beyond comparison, not to mention the taste. Keep in mind though vaping is as it was for most when they started, it does take time and money to find what works for you until you are satisfied..... Do keep in mind what works for other people doesn't always work for you and their taste buds aren't the same as yours. If I only knew then what I know now, I would have save some good $ by now......

Thanks everyone. Hopefully dripping onto the atty coil will work out nice, gonna try that soon, and I'm goin straight for the Boba's Bounty to finally give that a try. I don't see why it won't work if the wick is gone and I've got an empty tank on there for a tip.. although I will have to remove the tank to drop more juice. Plus I only have to get by until Friday. I'll let you guys know how it goes soon!

I'll give you a few months of vaping and trying other gear. I'll bet the farm you'll then be in 100% agreement.:vapor:

You may well have me pegged....went to bed last night tickled pink with my stuff and its performance; woke up this morning thinking about ordering cartos to see what all the fuss is about. And maybe a custom storage box to better organize what I have.

Right now though, I'm really happy with the performance of what I have and the taste of just one juice....I've got a bowl of fruit to eat and tobacco's for smokin'/vapin'. I won't disallow experimenting with flavors but that will be for whenever I attempt to wean myself off nicotine....if ever.

I've got the normal problems with tanks resolved, darned good facsimile camel taste, and a logger boot hit to throat and chest....have probably 6 months of supplies and a fixed income. I'm going to hold off on anything else as long as I can.

:D

OK! I did manage to drip with the ego c. I took my current atty and removed the spike cap. The wick was a little burnt.
I dripped a couple drops of Boba's Bounty into the atty, and put an empty tank into the end. Screwed it all together and vaped. It was a little harsh at first, but after a bit it was MUCh smoother and delicious.
I was unsure of how much liquid to put into the atty.. if it should cover the coils, just touch the coils or literally just one drop. I put like 2-3 drops in there and it was probably just touching the coils - those first vapes were really nice, but I think it got harsher as the liquid depleted.
It was a pain to keep taking apart, dripping and reassembling, but I did manage to get some good vaping.

A few of the vapes were real nice, but a lot of them were harsh still, although not as bad as with the wick on it.

I think later I'm gonna clean out another atty better and try the default atty again. Gettin there, though!

Hang in there....mine just began pulling hard and thin....pulled the tank, blew out the atomizer....absolutely no leakage. Looked at the tank before plugging it back in and saw the plug still attached to the cap. Gave the tank another twist on insertion and I'm back in business again.

I'm a tinkerer attracted most to stuff that doesn't work. I got a problem, I apply myself at correcting it. Wish all the broken things were as easy to fix as tanks. Fanatical maintenance regimen has kept all my stuff working at 100% for over a month. Thought my wife had burned out a VEC tank atomizer. Last time I plopped it in the grain alcohol soaker I forgot about it for four days. Rinsed it with fresh alcohol, blew it out, and it's working better than the minute it was new....really "crackles."

Have a good one.

It's worth changing the atty to see if that's the problem. lots of folks are getting great results with this device so it's not a universal issue. I find dripping with a 510 atty or kanger carto to be the most flavourful experience but it's hard to beat the convenience of the eGo-C. I'm still a noob but after 2 months analogue free I've found what works for me and gets me through the night.

:2cool:

I've been using Joyetech eGo C and replacement parts for a few weeks now and generally everythings been working as it should. I blow out the new attys into paper towel and pop em in. I give it a few dry, hard pulls to get some juice into the atty before I hit the power and this seems to work fine.

Great! Yeah, I'm gonna try a new atty later on.
I sort of feel like punching babies right now, too, so I definitely need to vape more, or my e-juice isn't strong enough (18mg). So I really need to get this working nicely before I have an analog!
I'm almost debating on overnighting a 5-pack of boge carto's, but I think I can make it to friday.. as long as they come friday.

Just had a little better luck with a new properly prepped atty. Still was getting some burning, though, after long draws. Every few draws I had to do a hard cold pull to get the wick wet. mostly good, though.. but boy, I can't wait for those carto's to come. I'm getting a better feel for how this should be working now, though, so it should get me by until Friday..

Try a thinner juice. Thicker juices don't wick very well on this unit.

Great advice! Dark,VG only juice will work if you are patient and rinse out the cone and atty base after every tank-full. I usually blow out the atty as well between tanks of my fav coffee VG juices.
I noticed the C becoming hard to draw on using certain juices only to discover I was inadvertently covering the air holes on the atty base with my thumb! In my mind I had contributed this behavior to certain juices when in fact it was user error IB{]. Just goes to show, deductive reasoning requires a reasonable approach to begin with.

I tried some straight VG to see if it would work and it was horrible. I ended up mixing about 20% vodka in it before it would wick properly. It's great now. From what I've read, you should have no more than 20% VG in your mix or you'll start having wicking problems. Other than my experiment, I personally haven't tried anything other than straight PG and I love it.
