I smoked a lot longer than you and switched to vaping 3 1/2 years ago. I still vape. In January I decided to exercise, something I did for 10 years when I wasn't smoking. I do 3-4 30-40 minute cardio sessions, 2-3 strength sessions and walk about 25 miles a week. That involves lots of heavy breathing. Breathing rates are typical for the heart rates I'm pushing too. Lung capacity for exercise appears to be typical for my age and condition.I am a smoker of 16 years and I recently bought the Nexus vaporesso. I used this most of the time now and only smoke a few cigarettes a day, but I noticed that vaping gives me shortness of breath. It seems to go away after a couple of hours without vaping but it is worrisome. I am not convinced that vaping is that much safer than cigarettes, I do it because it's easier to do anywhere and doesn't smell bad. Anyone experienced this?
My DIY is 50/50 PG VG with 1% flavoring and 12 mg nic and I vape 7-8 ml per day.
