New to Vaping

Hello All.

I just recently bought a starter kit from V2.

I know I know ... from what i've read so far on these forums, alot of you dont like them. But i didnt get to these forums until after the fact, so i'll deal with the trouble i guess, or get myself a new kit from somewhere else afterwards if this one doesnt turn out too great.

I havent received it yet as i just ordered it 2 days ago. I've seen some ppl complaining about the delivery time when buying from them afterwards, but how fast are they on getting your starter kit to you? I mean, 1st impressions mean alot, so you'd think they'd do a good job on getting your starter package to you right?

My kit comes with 15 cartridges, although i've read posts saying i'd be better off ordering more right away to make sure i dont run out, as apparently they dont quite last as long as advertized. I'm not sure if im going to like vaping all that much yet, so i'm a bit iffy about investing more money, also, i'm unsure whether to get blank caps or prefilled.

How complicated is it to make/refill your own? Is it better to get the premixed e-liquids or make your own with bases and concentrates? What kind of tools will i need? Where can i get these? Are there any suppliers with shops in the Capital region(Ottawa, Ontario ... yes, im a Canadian eh?)? I've read that the CHA(Canada Health Agency) are being ...... again trying to get the Gov's dirty hands on a cut of profit sales ... if thats the case, wouldnt it be illegal to sell nicotine products even without crossing the border?

One thing i was told by the rep at V2 is that there are chances nicotine products get seized at the border, so i went ahead and ordered 0mg cartridges. Are there any suppliers in Canada that can get me w/ nicotine products without the risk of losing my cash? And would products from other sites be compatible with my V2 4.2V battery?

Sorry about all the questions, but i'm just trying to get my bases covered. I'm sure i'll have many more questions later on, and plan on being as active a member as can be if i end up enjoying this vaping thing as much as some of you do.

Any help/answers you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Matt.

Ok man, I haven't had enough coffee yet and I can't read the entire post, or respond to it all...But I've never even heard of a V2, but you're a newb so it's all good...I normally recommend Vaporking from v4l for amateurs although alot of people here would disagree...THERE IS PLENTY OF TIME FOR UPGRADING..I truly believe it to be a necessary step...I started with a BLU (Total Dirt), then got a VaporKing from V4L (not bad for newer people) and now I'm using an ego-T (Amazing and I haven't even tried Cartomizers yet....The simple easiest way to make your vapor experience a good one is to be an active or lurking member here, so you are already on the right track...Refilling is relatively simple and easy, but it can sometimes be a bit messy...I suggest you order a couple batches of liquid get a feel for it, see how it works, and never order a replacement part for what you have...Eventually you should upgrade...Just keep researching the forums and read user reviews..NEVER TRUST ONE PERSONS WORD..There are idiots (I'm def one of them), and bias on ECF.. DIY e-liquid (making your own) is extremely simple and fun, but I'd try a few suppliers first...I'd suggest Blue Mist Vaping, for sample packs, and Backwoods for a real nice fine little more expensive liquid...But you might want to check this out anyways for the knowledge

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/74109-guide-diy-flavoring.html

And if you ever wanted to order a starter kit so you can get your nicotine, flavors, PG/VG, and all the little thigns you need like ebakers syringes and what have you, I would put down my life on DIY FlavorShack..Dawns great, and so are her kits..

DIY Flavor Shack by E-Cig Smoke Store

Just noticed the canada thing, post another thread specifically about that, I live in and order from American suppliers so I don't know much about that...I feeel I skipped so much, but hey I tried...Maybe I'll post somethign better in a bit...This forum contains everything you ever need to know about e-cigarettes, just look around and post some stuff...You will find what your looking for

Thanks for the quick reply either way. I'll be posing in the Canada forums once i have access to them for sure. In the meantime, any info i can gather is all the better.

Alot of ppl seem to love the Ego, although as i said, i just bought a brand new kit, so i'll run it's life out before i decide to try something else out. In the meantime, i just need to find out more about what's compatible with what i have, and what options i have to expand my horizons.

Seems like if i feel like getting creative and killing time, DIY'ing might be a fun thing to try.

I've also read many good things about V4L, so once i get into trying out new stuff, i'll definitely be popping by they're website for a gander.

Thanks again!

FYI, V2 is a brand being vastly advertized over the web right now. Alot of ppl dont like the "spamming" feel they seem to put out. Although the product itself seems decent enough, it is highly overpriced from what my research(late as it is) has shown. Had i know prior, i would have bought elsewhere.

I think I remember seeing them when I was first looking before coming here. I would see if it is possible to a) cancel your order or b) find out their return policy. Most of these quasi scam companies have a money back guarantee if you don't open the box. Then I would look at either the Smokeless Image Volt, V4L or Halo G6 kits for a good place to start. You will likely find they are both cheaper and better quality than the V2 kit you bought.

Welcome to ECF and Happy Vaping! :vapor:

:closedeyes:As a vaper in Canada I can tell you that I have never had a shipment siezed or returned at the border. From what I understand there are two key points here:

1) They will not seize/return hardware. The corollary is: They will seize/return pre-filled cartomizers and cartridges.
2) Ordering your own blank carts/cartos and buying juice in bottles (as opposed to pre-filled carts) seems to be a better way to get it across the border. Most vendors (at least, all that I have dealt with) know the situation in Canada and will usually label the customs form with something other than "E-cig juice." (My last shipment, for example, was labeled "aromatherapy samples")

DIY may be another ball of wax, but if you order nic liquid from some place like Box Elder or FreedomSmokeUSA you might want to shoot them an E-Mail first to ask if they will mark the customs form in such a way as to not give away the fact that you're ordering nic liquid. :)

So, in short: Hardware should be no problem (if it ships with pre-filled carts there may be a chance of stoppage), just order blanks and fill yourself.

V2 is a ripoff selling kr808's for twice the price they should charge. And CS sucks. My first purchase was from them. Live and learn. If you want Kr808's myvaporstore has much better prices for the same thing. But, the batteries IMO are too small.
Cancel your order or return the kit. Look into EGO type for better battery life and better value. Seach the ECF.
I buy from Liberty Flights and MyPVshop. There are many other reputable vendors, but these are two I know and trust.
Good luck.

There is nothing wrong with V2 hardware... Over priced somewhat but they do have a lifetime warranty with up to 5 replacements... Their cartos on the other hand have been suspect on length of use and consistency lately... Get Juice and blanks (kr808-1d style) and refill your own...

Refilling is a snap you just need blank cartos, bent paperclip or something to pry the cap out, juice, and paper towel. There are videos of several ways to fill on you-tube condom method, Tayrn Sin, and the drip method.

Puff: I dont think i'll cancel my order. Over priced or not, it's still way cheaper than regular cigarettes, so i'm sure i'll be quite happy with my V2 either way. If the hardware ends up being junk, i'll see if i can get my money back under their 60day warranty, and if not, i'll just buy another set from V4L.

Mind: Thanks for the tips. If i do end up ordering replacements from the US, i'll make sure i contact them 1st. Arent there any suppliers in Canada that you can order from instead though?

I'm glad to see the community here is so open to helping out new members. Sounds like i'm going to have a blast trying to fit in!

Thanks everyone. :)

If i were to get empty cartridges, i suppose i'd need some sort of gauged needle to fill them up with the juice right?

Welcome to the forum, Matt! I use an Ego 510 set up; that's what works for me. I'm also looking into a mod in a few months just for the convenience because I spend a lot of time on the road.
You're going to read and see a lot of different opinions here on the forum; but whatever keeps you off the analogs is the most important thing of all!
Good Luck and Keep On Vapin :)

There are a few that I know of. Electro-Vapors, CdnVapor, Canada Vapor, and Maple Leaf Vapes are four I can think of off the top of my head. Selection tends to be a little more limited than most US vendors (Canadian vendors probably don't want to keep much stock in case Health Canada decides to get all douchey on them) and I've never tried the juices so I can't vouch for the quality, but they can be had within our own borders.

Awesome info everyone! I think when my carts are near completion, i'm going to dable in filling my own for a while and try out some samplers from different sites.

I'll try ordering from canadian vendors 1st and post up some reviews of my findings to help out our brothers and sisters in the great white north!

Please do! I'd be very interested in what you think of them. I've already got a ton of juice and half a ton more coming next week (I hope; Juicy still hasn't E-Mailed me to tell me my next order has shipped, and it's almost been a week) so I just don't need any more yet.

V2 told me my kit should have shipped out the day after the order was placed, and that i would get an email with my tracking #. It's been 3 days now and still no email. I'm wondering if i should call them to see whats up?

I think i'll give it a week, and then start pestering them everyday going forward until i get a sign of life.

Yeah, I'd give it a bit before you start pestering. But if there's still no sign of life I'd definitely start flying up their nose about it until you get an answer.

If you find that the V2's aren't exactly right for you and if you can't return them, it's not the worst thing in the world to have them as a back up.

It can take a while to find the equipment that works best for you. Once you do, make sure to get back-ups and back-ups for your back-ups, because you don't want to run out. That includes chargers!

Congratulations on diving in! I suspect you'll like vaping a lot more than you might expect right now.

Thanks Bella, i'm sure i will, although i'm switching from analogs to vapes as a method of quitting altogether. Though i wouldnt be worried any if i did get hooked on vapes seeing there's nothing bad for my health regarding them, i would eventually like to stop.

Scotay ... i never even thought of checking their site ... LOL. Gunna go do that!

Thank Druid, on my way to check those out right now!
