Hi, Im trying to switch over to vaping. I started off with the blu e cig, They work ok but the battery life is not good and it's expensive. I tried refilling the cartridges and could not make it work. I switched to a tank type "Blow One" and it is so harsh I can't hit it, I tried tsunami and puff brand e juice 4 different flavors and anything from 18mg nicotine to .6mg nicotine and it makes no difference I can't take a hit off of it. I just bought some "ecto" brand e juice 8mg and its just as bad. I can take a tiny hit and as long as it goes nowhere near my through I can with effort not hack up a lung. ( we are taking so small a hit that there is almost no vapor exhaled at all)

I have searched online ( how I wound up here) and I have seen said to try a lower nic level, which I have to no effect. I've seen discussions about PG vs VG and that PG causes the harshness, others say VG does. Locally my options for some juice are very limited, maybe 4 brands and when I ask about the PG/VG content they have no idea what I'm talking about. As much as I have spent so far I am ready to give up on it, I can't afford to keep buying e liquid after e liquid hoping the next one with be better.

Any advice what I should try, what about the Johnson Creek VG only juices ?

The tsunami juice is a 70/30 split, the puff is 60/40. ecto even on their website you can't find that info. I just wonder if my having such a strong reaction to it that its not going to matter how much PG or VG. I Think I will try the VG only juice from Johnson Creek. Could it just be the tank I have, Ive heard there are top and bottom tanks (mine is a top tank) does that make much of a difference ?

It took me months for fiddling around with stuff to finally get what i prefer. When I first started I got 24mg nicotine juice which was way too much for me. I ended up using 12 - 18mg for a while around a 50/50 mix. I used a protank with a smoktech variable voltage battery for ever until I started building my collection up. If you don't mind ordering juice online fuzion vapor makes one called unicorn blood that was and still is a go to for me. It has a candy taste which is what helped me quit my Marlboro addiction, I liked the fact it didn't taste like cigarettes.

I can't inhale it enough too blow it out my nose, thats how harsh it is for me

Welcome Ronk..I see you live in Michigan and I would suggest you try Ahlusion. You may even be lucky enough to live close to Swartz Creek to visit Walds shop where he can inform you in person if it's your gear or just the way it is set up. I do suggest also you go with all VG as PG is where the throat hit comes from.

Don't give up.
You said the Blu worked ok; but I think the blu hardware not quite the same as the industry standard 510/eGo hardware; (or maybe they use reverse polarity on their batteries? in which case you can use a regular ego battery and get better battery performance).

If you see an evod type starter kit like this:

that's what a decent low cost starter might look like.

If you shop online, the best bang for the buck in batteries is the mvp2, usually comes as a kit with tanks.

First off welcome to ecf. Nic has the biggest impact on throat hit. PG gives a little throat hit, but its main purpose is to carry flavor. VG gives you the clouds aspect. People can be allergic to PG or VG but a PG allergy is much more common and like any allergy everyone has a different level of sensitivity. I would suspect its the tank / coil thats more of the culprit. 6mg in your typical tank shouldn't be very harsh. Have you tried a new attomizer? Also you said its a top coil so make sure the wicks are good and wet BEFORE taking your first hit. Id guess that you fired it up with the wick being dry and a burnt atty will taste foul no matter what liquid you use. Also be careful of the cheap starter kits, you'll wind up spending more money on those than a quality device up front. And by quality I'm not talking about spending hundreds either. Most importantly vaping has worked for so many people it tells me there is a solution for you somewhere so dont give up!

They Filled the tank for me at the shop and made sure it was wet. I can't taste anything burnt, honestly I can't take enough of it in to taste much of anything. It's like when you had so bad of a cold that no matter how much you tried you just couldn't smoke a cig and you just gave up till your cold went away. That is how hard it is for me to hit it.

Try not going direct to lung inhales.

Just suck into the mouth first.

Yes indeed a top coil tank can have have a much warmer Vape.[1 of my top coil clearomiser is Hot] I would try Juice that is 70 to 80% VG. I would try a tank Like a Protank 3 or PT3 Mini as they are not very expensive[ the replacement coil heads are reasonable also}. I recently purchased both for use on my Ego VV Twist type batteries and like them alot ----$14 for the Protank 3 and $8 for the protank 3 mini

I think you will need to buy a EGO VV Battery .These will have a universal EGO-510 threading so many brands of clearomizers will work. I do not know if Your Blow battery is EGO threaded or not.
Vision eGo Spinner 1300mAh Variable Volt Battery

Thread are several brands of EGO batteries to choose from. Get at least a900 mah 1300 is better and if you can afford it get 2 so while 1 is charging you have 1 to use.

I found one last smoke/vape shop in my area (20 miles away) and they had custom e juice, some VG only. They even had sample tanks with different flavors for you to try, I tried the VG only peppermint 12mg and it's a night and day difference! no coughing or harshness at all. I haven't tried it in my tank yet, but I am hoping this sovles the problem.

BTW: the "BLOW ONE" battery is Ego/510 threaded 650 mah

If you need the heat and throat hit of a cig, start out with 70/30 pg/VG and see how you like it. I've found that with the right flavors, inhale speed, voltage and nicotine level (18mg for me), I can achieve the desired throat hit with 50/50. Takes some trial and error, you'll get there.

I suggest starting with a variable voltage eGo style battery or the Innokin MVP 2. I also suggest glass clearomizer as its easier to get rid of the previous flavor when switching.
