Got my new UFS today and promptly lubed up the orings and started to use it. I'm finding even with the juice control fully closed there is liquid getting into the atty. I first tried my favorite pink spot liquid with an HH .357 long barrel atty and I noticed the juice slowly going down in the tank. Took everything apart and sure enough it all dripped into the collector tank. I examined the point where the base cup meets the atty when the juice control is fully closed and I noticed a very small gap. I can't think of any other reason than cup not making a good seal with the bottom of the atty as the cause. I havent tried any other liquids yet but I'm guessing it won't really matter.

To rule out my HH .357 I tried some dual coil 1.25ohm cartos from COV and two other IKV attys I had. Still had the leaking issue :(.

Is my UFS useless now or am I doing something wrong here?

If there is still a gap then the juice control cannot be fully closed. I know you said it is... But, the only thing that stops the juice control from turning is when it bottoms out on the bottom of the atty.

Take into consideration that the illustration I am referring you to is for the UFSv1. UFSv1 Atomizer Installation
(Just got the UFSv2 tonight so hopefully in a few days I will have the illustrations done for that)

1.) Take items "C", "D", "E" and "F" off of the UFS.
2.) Open the Juice Control by turning the bottom of the tank fully clockwise.
3.) Install the atomizer, make sure it is finger tight.
4.) Close the juice control by turning the bottom of the tank fully counterclockwise until the atomizer is bottomed out on the inside cup portion of the tank.
5.) Close the air control ring.
6.) Put the bottom of the tank in your mouth and try and draw on it.
7.) if you are getting air in then it is not sealed yet.
8.) Open the juice control and make sure the atomizer is screwed all the way down using just a little bit more pressure.

CAUTION: Be aware that the UFS atomizer connector is made from Stainless Steal and will eat your atomizer connector if you use too much force while tightening it.

9.) Repeat steps (4) through (8) until you get an air tight seal

Also, if you can, could you please take a closeup picture of the bottom of your tank on the inside and also the Atomizer connector itself. Need to check to see if there are any burr's which could prevent the tank from screwing down all the way.

My base cup also has a small gap where it does not fully close against the atty. It is not along the whole perimeter, but rather it is more like a small notch along one side of the opening in the base cup that the base of the atty will not fully cover. I'll take a picture later but first I have to use up my juice. In my case the juice will not flow into the collection tank as long as I remember to close the air control ring when not in use. I have an extra clear juice window and base cup for an UFS v1 that I could use, but I would rather give these to a friend who actually owns v1, since I was never able to score one back then and had thought I could build one from parts.

One more thing. Next time your UFS is empty, take it apart again until you are only holding onto the UFS connector assembly without the collection tank. Screw your atomizer on tight and take a look at where the atomizer meets the UFS connector. There should not be any gaps where the high points of the crenelations meet the bottom of the atomizer.

We cant totally seal the atomizer against the base because metal to metal cant be totally sealed danks. But this very small gap doesnt allow our thick liquids to come inside the CT or atomizer. There are tanks that allow 510 atomizers to get feeded from their side holes without any liquid control and they still work. So your issue is not sealing. Maybe you overflood the atomizer when you refill or when you vape and then you cant get rid of the liquid inside CT?

Thanks for the info everyone... I tried to take some close up pictures but my iPhone couldnt quite bring it into focus. I tried seating the atty a few times again and it is definitely going down as far as it can go. Maybe the pink spot juice is the culprit here? It's a very thin liquid, much more so than any other liquid I have.

I'm going to vape out what's left in the atty and try and refill the UFS again with a different juice.

I do not want to sound like a jerk here, but it kind of sounds like you have the batts tightened before you install the atty. The GG batt tube has to be loose so there is no pressure on the center pin when installing attys. It sounds like the pin is all the way tight and you are not getting a full seat for the atty. Lets see if I can post some pics to show you what I am talking about. This is with the tank and CT removed for clairity.

Here is with the batts tight first

Here is how it should fit

I hope you see the difference.

I believe I got things working now... Thanks for the pic inquisitorj, I definitely have the atty fully screwed down like in your second pic. When the atty is dry and the air and juice fully closed a small amount of liquid still goes into the atty but it looks like it stopped now as I don't see the liquid going down anymore.

I opened the air control a bit and also the juice a tad and now its ripping nicely. It's been a while since I used atty's so I forgot a few things, gurgles a bit but I don't get any juice in my mouth. Seems the HH .357 needs a stronger pull to work well.

I can vape for a while with the juice control closed and only have to open it a tad when I find vapor production going down or the taste flat. Not sure if this is normal or not...

Bruce, PM sent. Bruce and Imeo, I love both ya guys, you two really know how to take care of your customers!

Stinky

You're a stud Bruce! I hate to brag (no I don't! :p) but between Imeo's art and follow-through and your execution of the sales and the support in the US, I think US GG users have it the best.

I mean no offense to any other reseller but I mean really, if it can be done any better than the way you do it Bruce, I wont believe it until I see it. Seriously, how many resellers make the time to follow their suppliers threads to pre-emptively address an issue even before a customer can send you a service request?

I'm thinking not many and that's being generous! ;) Thank you! Or as you say Bruce "Wow!

I expect Imeo and Bruce to jump in a private jet fly out here and present me my gg products on a soft velvety pillow. Seriously though great service from both of you!!
