Been smoking for almost 15? yrs now... pretty much a pack a day, marlboro or parliament lights.. and i'm 27. The last few years I been really feeling the effects of cigarettes... wheezing and coughing every morning.. just sick of the whole, breathing hard while walking to class- going outside to smoke all the time, worrying about how much i stink around non-smokers, even having to find a girlfriend that is okay with smoking or smokes too..

I never even dreamed possible that i'd be able to quit.. i figured the only thing maybe that'll stop me is maybe having a kid.. even then i thought - how the .... am i going to quit? i smoke with EVERYTHING, i wake up- smoke, eat- smoke, driving- smoke. HELL, if there's fresh air it's like "gotta smoke!" and it's embarrasing man when i'm hanging out with my non-smoking friends.. fiening for a cigarette, coming back after a smoke knowing i reak... anyway

so my friend who successful quit smoking after 10 yrs (gf helped him) have been having cravings.. even after 6 months.. and he bought an e-cig. he let me try it and it was pretty weak... had to take a huge drag.. not even the way i would hit a cigarette, but more if i was smoking weed... and i duno - just didn't have the same affect as a cigarette

i then thought.. hell maybe there some thing out there that successfully imitates a cigarette.. then i ran into these forums

HOLY CRAP - acronyms and terminology up the wazoo... browsed here off and on .. wasnt convinced at first but then i started reading more and more successful quitting stories on here..on how they successfully quit "analogs" (lol at that slang)... even the people who weren't trying to quit.. and how they dont even think of going back to analogs.. and i know people here were skeptical like i am now.. so it's really giving me hope. just the fact that alot of you are saying "i dont even think about going back to analogs" and then u try it just for kicks and you think it's nasty o_O

^ that's really giving me alot of hope and well.. i hope i wont be disappointed as i'm kinda looking at this as a life saver.. but i guess if it even helps me cut down even the littlest bit, it was worth an investment right?

so after just looking over recommendations.. i realized the bloog had the most "successful" stories. i read just way too many "wow i didn't expect much but this really got me away from the analog" etc etc..has smallest form factor in terms of a cigarette (more like small cigar) size... has a good "throat hit" and even has a warm smoke factor?

well, i hope i'm not disappointed as i spent $120 bucks on this thing.... i hope i cut down a good amount and man if i could really quit i'd be so happy. i'm sick of ....ing wheezing and coughing in the morning and breathing hard walking up a hill? lol - did i mention i have asthma? lol sad ...

if anyone has read this far (lol)

a few questions....

1) i smoke about a pack a day, marlboro/parliament lights... i'm not sure how much nicotine lvl i should have ordered for my cartomizer.. but i got 16mg.. is that too much? i figure i'll prob have fun with it when i first get it.. puffin on it alot, so am i going to get a mad nicotine high? should i have gone with the 11mg? how will i know if i should order higher or lower mg levels after i get my bloog?

2) i was reading about the withdrawals people come out with... is that for people that are using non-nicotine vapors? or even with nicotine? just curious because i want to know what to expect

3) how long till you guys started to breathe better and not cough in the mornings anymore?

thanks for reading

Welcome to the forum! I don't have a bloog (although I've tried KR808's) and I'm sure you'll have great luck with it.

1. You won't know the right nicotine level for you until you try it. Myself, I vape 24 mg. Some people higher, some less so it's difficult to say. You want it high enough that you won't crave cigarettes but not too high that you can't vape it.

2. I never really had withdraws. I had a few cigs the first few days and tapered off. I really like vaping more than smoking.

3. I felt great, 100x better within the first few weeks. My throat felt better and no coughing within the first few weeks as well.

I'm sure you'll do great! If you have any questions, be sure to post!

The Bloog was an excellent choice.

Make sure you read up, or watch videos, to know how to safely re-fill the cartomizers. You want to ensure you don't get liquid in the battery, as it can ruin it.

1. Try the 16mg, and see how it goes. You might decide to have two different nic levels. A high one, for when you really need to get beyond a craving, and a low level, for when you want to sit back and vape away without boosting your nicotine needs in the process.

2. You'll have withdrawals no matter what, even if it's mental only. E-cigs are an excellent method of quitting, but that doesn't mean you won't feel lifestyle changes in the process. Just stick with it, and if you relapse, keep going. You'll get there soon enough.

3. I still cough sometimes, but mostly from allergies, or if I vape too much I'll get a bit of a coat in my throat. My lungs feel incredibly better, and started feeling that way within a few weeks. Actually, when you first quit, you'll hack up some terrible things, and maybe even get cold like symptoms. Your body is trying to get rid of a lot of garbage, and in doing so you almost feel worse, while getting better. Once that has passed, you'll know it. You'll get a sense of taste and smell, and you'll feel like your lungs are twice as big as they ever were.

Welcome to the forums, and congrats on the first step! If you try, it will definitely help you! It's helped or is helping all of us from the cancer sticks! At times it may require effort on your own part, you have to realize you will still have some withdrawals, from the other chemicals in the cigarettes you aren't getting now, as you will only be getting the nicotine.

However the e-cig can GREATLY reduce these withdrawals and help ease your discomfort. I say can instead of will because all people are different, and your withdrawals may or may not be worse than other people's. Depends on your body and mentality. Yes, it will help you. And you CAN do it. If I can do it, anyone can.

Again, Welcome to ECF :)

thx for the reply,i'm sure i'll be back to post more questions once i receive it. i even got the 2 day shipping cus i'm so anxious.

can i ask you how much you smoked before you vapored? just trying to find a common ratio of analog to nicotine mg

When I was buying my own (and they're around $8.00 a pack here) I tried not to smoke much and tried to keep it to a pack a day. Toward the end of my smoking career I was rolling my own and it was so much cheaper so I was smoking like there was no tomorrow. Over 2 packs a day probably. I felt horrible, the tobacco was so harsh I always had a cough and sore throat. But I only vaped to keep my Mom company. I had no intention of quitting at all. I just thought I'd cut down and keep her company.

We both quit!

I may not have had as many symptoms because I work out a lot, I run every morning (yes, I ran and smoked-I was an idiot) and go to the gym a lot. That might have helped me a little with physical symptoms of smoking although it was just a matter of time before it all caught up with me.

+1for the cpl nic levels...16 should be ok to start with especially as you will be hitting it a good bit in the beginning, but I would say to order some higher and some lower cartos/juice so you can either kill a craving, or vape to your hearts content! I was a 3/4-1 pack a day marb Ultra Light smoker and I started too low (ordered 6 thinking well, I only smoked Ultra lights) and needed to get some 16's and 11's. After 3+ weeks I am a pretty steady 11/12mg vaper, but I still grab a 16 now and again, and some days when I am really vaping a lot I only do 6. Even ordering too low of nic to start off, I havent had a single drag from an analog since opening my Bloog kit in the Post Ofc parking lot! And I smoked for 25+ years. I still have the almost full last pack of analogs somewhere.

Try a variety of flavors and find ones you love (you will be shocked at the flavors you end up loving) and keep it on hand...not only will you get and stay analog free, but you will actually enjoy doing it! Keep in mind your taste buds will be a little screwy for a while...seemed to come and go for the first couple weeks, but then it seemed all the sudden I could TASTE again! Sweet juices helped me in the beginning, so did 'extra flavor'...could taste them and tasted good and really kept me wanting to vape and forgetting all about analogs. Within 1 week my hack when I would lay down was gone and within 2 weeks I could feel the difference walking up a flight or two of stairs and in general felt unbelievably better by week 3!

Congrats on taking the step! You picked the best setup to do it with and will amaze yourself how easy quitting is! ECF is loaded with all the info you could ever need and a ton of great people to help making quitting/vaping awesome. Look, read, ask, and enjoy

i have the bloog maxx fusion and love it. one thing to look out for is the make sure you refill the cartos(which are great btw!) AFTER you take it off the battery so you dont get juice leaking into the battery. i killed one of my batts by overfilling while screwed on. i am little curious as to what made it cost $120? maybe you got more than 2 batts and/or pcc? i got a better price by not buying the kit, but instead picking two 102mm batts, charger and cartos and i think i paid $68.00 with shipping. a kit with those thing in it would have cost me more...odd.

I smoked a pack and a half of marlboro lights a day, twenty years on, 5 years off, and then 5 1/2 month on before starting with a Bloog. I use 6mg nic because I pretty much vape like I smoked, constantly. When I bought my pre-filled cartos, I ordered 11mg. That was a bit too high for me and chain vaping. Every once in a while I wish I had some 11mg juice to vape, but not often and mostly I'm happy to stick with the 6mg. What I have noticed is that I can go for hours now if I have to without vaping, whereas when I was smoking I'd get nic fits after about 30 minutes without smoking.

I bought a GoGo after a week of using the Bloog. I was having trouble getting good hits. I wish I had just skipped the GoGo and stuck with the Bloog, because I only used the GoGo for about a week. I finally got the hang of the Bloog and that's all I use. Yes, warm, smooth, tons of vapor, easy to hit (once you get the hang of it). My only recommendation would be to start buying blank cartos and juice and fill your own. Just remember to keep them wet and they'll last you forever. I have one that I've had going for 3 weeks. I'm just now starting to think about tossing it because of sanitary reasons.

Congratulations on your decision to quit and good luck with the Bloog. Just remember, stick with it. If it's frustrating at first, don't worry. You'll soon enough figure it out.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Bloog! :D

Be assured, you made a very wise choice. But listen to every one here.. educate yourself on how to fill and clean cartos (I have an amazingly easy "power wash with a turkey baster" method).. there's really no reason to buy prefilled (except for the great juice that isn't available for sale separately yet, but will be within a few weeks), these cartos do last forever.

I bought a little more than 100 prefilled.... Half are still sitting unused, almost half are sitting in a bowl waiting to be cleaned...

I've only been using between 5 and 10 cartos, refilling, for months now. Feel like I wasted a lot on cartos that I don't need.

Bloog also has an awesome sub forum, filled with nice people who are more than happy to answer any questions, and just chit chat about anything under the sun. Come join the family! Bloog Electronic Cigarette

If anyone else out there is interested, send me a PM and I can answer any questions and give you a 10% off code. ;)

As for one of your questions.. drink plenty of water and you should avoid most things people complain about (dry thoat and such). PG pulls moisture from your throat and lungs. I've also heard of people having wierd bathroom problems when not drinking enough water, but I can't give you any first hand info on that. What I DO still have problems with, is lots of big dry bugers when I wake up. Weird I know, but they won't go away. Just get rid of them in the morning, and I'm good till the next day.

Expect to feel a million times better in a few weeks.
