New vamo can't read anything

5 attys, couple novas, all read 00. Each checks out fine on provaris.
reads batteries to the tenth exactly like its domestically produced brethren.

what 2 do?

Will the vendor allow you to replace it with a functioning unit? I hope they'll do that for you. That really sucks, man. I'd be ....... I love the Ohm check feature.

I'm sorry to read you are having trouble with your Brand New Vamo.
Try removing the batteries then reinserting with vivi attached and see what the reading is.
Which batteries are you using?

Sounds like you might have a center post problem with your Vamo.
You might want to look into the connection to see if it is lower than normal.
You can take a micro flat head screw driver and pry it up gently.

But make sure you speak with your vendor 1st and ask if you should try that or just return it.
I don't know what type of center pin the Vamo has and I wouldn't want you pulling the pin out completely.
