New vaper needs REO advice, what to get with NO REBUILDING involved

I'd second the cartos. Boge LR 2.0 are very forgiving and will let you squonk without overflowing into your mouth. When the draw gets tight it's time to switch to a new carto. Just remember to prime them before you fire the cartos, otherwise you'll get the most terrible taste in your mouth and the carto becomes unusuable (burnt). Check out some of the videos on youtube on carto priming (just search for the carto condom method). I know you can get away with just dripping the filler, but this way you'll be certain.

...I don't know... as easy as the RM2 is to build, and for so much better flavor...I have to say 10 minuets of videos and you can be building like a champ, then you can move to micro-coils

Personally I never liked the taste cartos added. I'm an HH.357 fan. One of these atties lasts me at least 5 months on my Grand. They are more expensive and I should just buy a RM2, but I still have a couple that need to die before I do that.

Matt, you can get everything you need on two sites....the reosmods site and the RTDvapor site (for the batteries and the drip tip.) You'll have to go somewhere for the batteries anyway....and they have drip tips on that site. Get the REO Grand, some cartos (any of the ones he sells are good) and maybe a couple of atomizers from the reosmods site, then get 3 AW IMR 18650 batteries and a drip tip from RTD vapors and you're set. You'll need e-liquid........I guess you have that? Have you been vaping already using something else? If so, what? (If you don't mind my asking.)

I agree that the place to get those shorty cartos from is reosmods, but I have to say that for me the great attys from the sites I linked have performed better on my REOs than the ones I got from the reosmods site. I don't mean to complicate things, BUT it's enough of a difference that I had to note it. Maybe I just had poor luck with the ones I got from Rob's wonderful, addictive site. I also haven't seen enough of an improvement with the couple HH.357s I've had to justify the cost, but MANY disagree with me on that one.

I one of those that agree with you. I had a couple of 357s, and when I did everything right, and there was a full moon, and humidity was juust right..... they were a fantastic vape. In the end, though, they were just too temperamental for me to bother. I never knew what the next mouthful would be like. I'm exaggerating a bit, but not much (for me).

Others swear by them, so if OP's interested in going in that direction, then try them out.

I pretty much skipped over cartos and the like. I tried them for a minute in a U-DCT tank on my VAMO and did not care for them, went back to Vivi's and clearos before I moved on to Genesis style RBAs.. man how I wish I would have just skipped all the Genny silly business and gone straight to REO mods. Although I do now have a wealth of underwhelming Genny experiences that keep the greatness of bottom feeding firmly in perspective. Win win.

I wish I'd gotten a plastic battery case or two when I ordered my batteries.
also, will he have to remove the little white plastic thing from one end of the carto to get the drip tip in? bringing up just in case.....

I know I'm probably hijacking here, but that brought up a thought. I just started my niece and her husband on REO Minis....I gave them everything and got them going. The thing is, they never even tried cig-alikes.....so they don't know what they COULD have had....so they "like" their little "puffers".....but they don't even know enough to really appreciate what great little mods they are. I'm not saying they're unappreciative of my providing them....I mean they don't know how great they are because they never paid their dues. I know that everybody here says, "I wish I had started with a REO"....and saved all that money, mess, hassle, etc., but there's a fine line between avoiding all the newbie rites of passage and starting at the top, and being too much of a newbie to even understand how wonderful a REO really is. Hmmmmmm
