First of all, it's an editorial. It's not an article. And I'm rather shocked to see something like that come out of CSM as they're usually pretty good about researching facts and reporting the story in a factual manner. More so than agencies like CNN, NBC, etc.

It's a shame that the ability to comment on OpEds is non-existent on their site as I have a comment or two I'd like to make to their editorial staff.

I totally agree. CSM reporters and editors are typically fairly objective and reasonable.
