Hello. I have been stealthing the forums for a few days finding information as I started vaping about five days ago.

A little into, I quit analogs last christmas day and have been smoke free ever since. However, some stressfull events in my life have been making things tough for me. One of which was withdrawing off of lexapro (still withdrawing, its god AWFUL) and almost went back to cigarettes. I had a few options to help mitigate the withdrawl symptoms as well as pain I suffer daily from a stomach condition no one can diagnose. I could start drinking....... hell no, not a good option. I could start taking RX drugs or something worse, no, not an option for me.

Several times, I went to the local store and had a pack of cigs in my hand, but put them back, three different times. The last time, I came home and saw my husband's pack of Blu's sitting on the kitchen counter. I got these for him, and urged him to get them hoping he would quit cigs, or at least cut down (he has cut down). I went for it.

So I am using his pack (much to his annoyance because he'd like to use it lol!!), and it has saved me from horrible withdrawal symptoms without an avenue of reprieve. I didn't have to turn to much worse things, OR cigarettes, or even worse, return to the damaging RX medication I am withdrawing from.

In short, vaping is saving me from untold misery.

I told my daughters about it, and the older one is not "thrilled" thinking it is a step back from completely quitting smoking, but realizes, I am suffering here and sometimes it is "any port in a storm". My younger daughter casually states, "As long as it makes you feel better, and you do NOT go back to regular cigarettes, I can deal". My husband is thrilled about my pleasant mood and ability to tollerate whats going on.

So here I am, Hi.

Hi. :)

I quit smoking almost 3 weeks ago by vaping. I am addicted to nicotine, but I used cigarettes as a stress reliever. The more stressed I was, the more I smoked. I can tell you that if vaping helps you deal with the stress (and all the physical/mental crap that comes with it) then do it, especially if the feedback from your husband is you're easier to be around. Much better than taking multiple meds, IMHO. Happy Thanksgiving by the way.

Happy Thanksgiving! Sounds to me like you need your own pv. And I wouldn't get one like hubby's....get your own. I suggest getting either a Joye 510 or an eGo/Riva. Go shopping (on line) today or tomorrow....there are some good black friday deals going on on line. I have been vaping for 5 months....and those of us who have quit smoking by vaping KNOW you're not taking a step backwards by vaping. It makes sense, especially in your case, to lean on vaping while you get through these hard times. VaporJunction.com is having a 30% off black friday sale.....use the discount code: blackfriday

They have Rivas for regular $50 on sale for $35 right now with that discount code. Hard to find a better deal. Good luck. Think about how much vaping will help you get through the next few months....why wouldn't you do that for yourself? Be your own best friend. What would you tell a friend who was in your exact situation?? You'd probably offer to buy him/her a pv to help the situation. :) Do it. Good luck.

Happy Thanksgiving to you my vaping friend! Do you know of any killer deals on any larger battery mod ecigs? I just got the silver bullet and LOVE IT! I originally got the Blu cigs and those were a JOKE! I think my entire order was defective!!! My brother wasn't sold on it either after mentioning wanting to try it out. He tried my silver bullet and literaly went nuts!

your story and mine seem to mirror themselves quite a bit. i quit analogs in 2005 during hurricane wilma (right after katrina and it left south florida in the dark for 3 weeks). i was successful except for a few small hurdles when i smoked analogues on short vcacations when i was out with the girls and away from the husband.

i was on lexapro that whole time. i lost my job in may 09 and went back to grad school in sept 09. i decided to start smoking again just when out with my colleagues from school, and only once a week but it quickly turned into something more. i wanted to smoke all the time, thought i was doing well at not buying, and only smoking once or twice a week. i found out that i loved smoking itself though i hated the smell and the smoke etc.

i picked up vaping about 2 weeks ago and have a full brand new unopened pack of cigs in my car. i havent touched them and have had no desire (though i smoked an analog one night last week when my battery died and drinking... whoops. i hated it).

husband sees vaping as backsliding. and i am sure my family would too, if they knew. BUT, its keeping me from smoking, right? keep at it girl.

lexapro can be a ...... its a great drug when you use it and it works, but the withdrawals can be worse than the symptoms that led you to take it in the first place. i'm here to talk if you need a shoulder.

Thank you all for your welcoming comments! I am very happy to be here, I had no idea there was a HUGE vaping community/culture out there, and I'm happy to be part of it.

I forgot to add in my first post, I did order my own Blu, and as a matter of fact, ordered two more starter kits for two of my sisters for x-mas. They are hard core smokers, and one has COPD.... am hoping maybe this can help them.

I'm obviously new at vaping, but the blu is serving me quite well, at least for now...... I *have* eyeballed the silver bullet, and believe that may be in my future. Because of these forums and other info like youtube, I have ordered some blank carts from volcano, truly wicked e-juice and some drip tips lol. Extra batteries too for the blu, and atomizers. Been researching a lot, and I know the blu isn't the greatest, but its pretty equal I guess to a lot of other 510 kits out there. Again, lol what do I know?

Right now we call my husband's blu "my binkie" ROFL, will be happy to get my own, and experiment, and then move on to other models.
