I like the new premium cartos a lot.. but I can't say I'm a fan of the new cases.

They're a nice idea, but I found the foam doesn't hold regular or shorty batteries securely. I mean.. not even close. They just fall right out and bounce around in the case. XL batteries do fit, but they are difficult to get out. Trying to squeeze the foam together to fit it to the battery feels like it will tear, or rip the foam from the case walls. Just trying to get an XL battery out of the case feels like it will tear, or rip the foam out.. moderate use likely will.

I got two of the cases. One black, one silver, they both exhibit the same characteristics.

Also they do require the condoms to hold carts securely.

The case itself is big and pretty heavy, but it's not too big or too heavy like I expected it to be, and the outside is ruberized, so it has a pretty nice feel.

Yeah, I got my XL case today too, and I'm a little disappointed. It's a good bit thicker than I was hoping it would be, and I'm seeing the same problem with the inserts. Smaller batteries fall right out, as do the carts if you don't have the condoms on them. Plus there's enough dead space between the inserts in the top and bottom when you close it that everything ends up falling out and rolling around.

I'm gonna give it a try tomorrow at work, keeping it in the cargo pocket of my pants (too thick for a regular pocket), but I have a feeling I may go back to keeping carts in the old case and keeping my XL batteries in a battery sock in my pocket (which I hate doing and why I wanted a case to accommodate the XL battery so badly).

It's hard to see, but on the top half, the upper battery is a normal sized battery. I had a hard time balancing it on there long enough to snap the picture. The bottom one is a shorty, which is the same, unless it has a carto on it, it seems to fit with the cart.

On the lower half, the XL battery (green) fits snugly, but is very difficult to remove because the inserts are so deep. The other battery (black) is normal, and that is just resting there unsecured. If flipped upside down that would fall right out.

The red cart without the condom is just resting there on the bottom, it's not secure. The condom carts are.

Mine won't arrived until tomorrow still but I was wondering if a total condom was needed on the bats to make fit or if little rings of the condom would be enough to hold the battery in? New bats are a little too breezy for a few of my carts so they have rings to adjust airflow. Perhaps they will be multifunction ;)

Yeah, sorry I didn't check the inserts with regular or shortie batts. That was a big oversight on my part. :(

But like Steve said, use the cart condoms on the battery ends and they will hold securely, and on our next order I will make all the slots narrower so both batteries and carts will stay snug without condoms.
