I have take the hit on this one. Once again, I am sorry.

THe long and sordid story is that when I was doing my testing it did hold everything firmly. But the inserts were puckered up around the edges and didn't look good. So we sent them back to be remade. Twice.

When they finally came out right, nice and smooth, I quickly tested them with XL batts by putting them in and holding it upside down and shaking, and proclaimed them good. But I forgot to retest them with regular batts, and because we were running up fast on the Chinese New Years holiday, I didn't take the time to test it in use for a couple days like I had the earlier prototypes.

It turns out that the puckering on the earlier inserts tightened up the slots, which is why they held everything firmly in my earlier testing.

Once again, Mea Culpa. :(

And in the future, we will make all the slots just a bit narrower to fix these problems.

And hwyrunrz, you must be psychic!

Here's a little something I added as an extra insert if I want to brink some juices along as well

I just used excess packing material from a motor I ordered..Its a harder foam but a razor cuts very nicely..Instead of gluing I just cut it so it compressed itself in..it holds really good and takes the shape really well for some pretty jagged cuts I made..It also pulls right out and I can put the old one right back in..I might make a few more versions of this for 20mls etc..maybe add a pcc charger as well

It seems to me that the box was made for the XL batt and it makes sense that smaller batteries would fall out. I understand that minis with cartos attached fit as well.

While I am disappointed that the cartos do drop out, it's a minor inconvenience that I can live with.

When I put my manual batts in for the first time, I wasn't that attentive to positioning and found all of the batts DOA when I went to exchange one about 12 hours later. I'm assuming that the button must have become depressed and the LED drained them. I am more careful now.

What concerns me more is the idea that a mini manual witht he carto attached might be activated and cause a fire as it overheats. I might just have to test this theory over the weekend.

I like both mods and with 2 of these bad boys, (assuming one survives the fire test) I may just have to take up some of those ideas.

clever simage, liking the mods...also hwyrunrz, especially like the PCC/combo...now if I could only get the cartos to stay put in there!

dont get me wrong I really like my case in original condition but the mod I made really helps me out with adding bottles to the mix cause I really like having them because I vape about 5 carts a night so refilling helps quite a bit..(11 to 18mg)

I just cut the cart dividers out on one half. Without the divider, a normal battery fits perfect in that space, and the left over stubbies from where the divider once was give it the extra padding to keep the battery in place.

So one half of the case holds 8 carts, the other half holds 2 XL batteries and 2 normals.

I went and purchased a dart case... the link is below.. what I love is that when you open it .. it lays flat. Its long enough that you can keep a cart on your batteries.. and I am going to be modifying it with foam for added security BUT you can use it as is ... and the little flight pouches can hold the carts. :) I bought the solid black one ($12.80) but they have different styles - Check it out!

OR check out this soft case which would also be PREFECT - only $10!:

I'm pretty bummed about mine too. The foam seems like it's not sticking to the edges of the case properly which causes it to move around inside of the case. In effect, everything falls out when I open it. It's kind of embarrassing actually. I show my V4L stuff off a lot. People tell me that I'm so enthusiastic about it that I should sell them. I kinda feel like a turd when I open my case and everything is all jumbled inside.
Personally, I like the inserts in the older style of cases better. They don't seem to be as flexible as the foam does which makes everything stay put nicely.
On the brighter side. I found that sticking a few V4L business cards in the case will kind of help keep everything in it's place. It's a shame that we have to work around this issue though. I was really looking forward to having a good, safe place to store my XLs. Now I have that, but I have to make sure I don't drop them when I open the case.

Great job on all the mods guys!

I'm so jealous... I'm sitting here staring at my XL platinum case and imagining all of the possibilities... Only if I were mechanically inclined, but that's not the case (no pun intended).......... I wouldn't even begin to know where to find the foam needed to modify it, or what to do with the foam once I got it, like how to cut the holes and slots...

oh, well.... what could have been.
