Some pictures, hoping for feedback!

Picture A: Wicked the way I've wicked every similar tank, including the extremely similar Goliath. Performs great without leaking during use, but juice seeps out the air holes right after I fill it. I don't think I'm using any less wick than petabread's image.

Picture B: Put in a ridiculous amount of wick. Channels are stuffed and the edges compressed a little after putting the tank on. Get dry hits eventually which is what I would expect from using this much wick. But it STILL weeped out the airholes right after filling.

Is it possible this isn't a wick issue? Some other trick to using a top fill tank without getting seepage from the air holes after a fill?
I'm sorry I'm late to the party! It definitely doesn't look like you're not using enough wick. I'll say this tho:

in A - definitely could use some trimming off the wicks. I'd say about 1/4 of the length. You only need enough to sit on that little shelf. I have very little wick in the actual channels. Having said that, I don't think that would cause you to have leaking. It's just advice.

In B - that method was the first one I tried, and whereas I didn't get any gurgling/leaking, I got nothing but burnt hits. Never got that one to work.

What VG/PG ratio are you using? I suppose that could be a factor. I use 90+VG. I could see thin liquid being an issue for someone. Other than that, Picture A looks good! Just a tad long.

That's the only thing I can think of for why some are experiencing leaking. I must have added juice to this thing over a dozen times already, rewicked once, and I have yet to have a drop leak, but I am using 70% VG juice. Only juice I'm getting outside the device is from coil spittle building up behind ring from all the vaping I'm doing on it. While the "32 air holes" is a bit of corporate ad speak BS, it's clear why they went with the swiss cheese AFC ring, and it's because with the coils sitting right there in front of a relative large oblong interior air hole that coil spittle would be flying all over the place with more standard AFC ring design.

Ok so I woke up this afternoon (night shifter), took out the build deck and crudely hauled the coils up off the deck by their wick tails. This raised the coils, compressed the wraps, and further stretched and thinned the wicking. I now get at least as much flavor as I get with my Lemo. With a little tact I could probably do better yet, but I hadn't had my coffee yet and I'm trying to hold off putting another build in until my 430 stainless gets here. But I'm starting to think that hanging them high is the way to go with this tank.

I love my Bellus p...... Everyone wants to have the perfect vape and pick apart what isn't so great about it....... For $20.00 why are people complaining? $20.00 well spent IMO. Sure there are things that could be better but again...... $20.00 well spent.

Great job UD. Even if your cheese grater AFC ring makes a tad bit of noise....... Keep making quality product please and thank you.

Problems and troubleshooting seem to make up a large portion of most threads, especially when a product is first released. It seems that every tank is fickle in its own way and figuring out how to make work for for me is an adventure.
The next part of my journey is figuring out how to get the most out of the tank.

The thing that puzzles me is that the consumer is left to figure a lot out themselves with minimum instruction from the manufacturer. They designed it, tested it. Surely they could provide videos and diagrams showing optimum set up based on there design. Instead we are all left to support each other and figure the quirks out. I know we all have varied set ups we like, but if they gave a baseline set up that works, we could adapt to our liking.

I'm not just talking about UD, it seems to be a given that the consumer should know what to do with a product despite differing designs.

Yes! That's the part I like!
I admit I do too. When others were complaining of the Goliath v2, I had stripped it down, figured it out and enjoyed the little beauty.

It would just be nice to see something from the manufacturer to help less inquisitive/experimental.

Bellus just has to be as good as Goliath V2, which is excellent. Nobody's gonna convince me otherwise. (Already locked into the pre-order.)

Currently, my Belllus is the worst performing tank i own, and ive been stuck with it all day at work. Hopefully i can get better performance by raising the coil placement. Otherwise its going in the spare parts bin.

Seriously, this thing sucks right now.

Don't give up Hope.

It wouldn't surprise me if Some Member here comes out with a Video showing a Great way to Build/Wick this Bellus. And the Performance of your Bellus goes up Exponentially when you Try It.

I think with all New Hardware, there is a certain Learning Curve that has to Occur.

Also, the Bellus is louder than the G2. The airholes whistle through the cheese grater afc ring. It is much quieter with the afc ring removed, so the noise must be coming from the cheese graters.

What a shame. I had such high hopes for the Bellus. I would gladly trade it for a Goliath V2.

Interesting, I have the opposite experience- my Goliath 2 whistles unless it's wide open, my Bellus does not whistle at all.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions about the seeping after a refill. I've got it to the point where I can refill it with minimal seepage- but doing so requires more care and attention that I'd like, and a little more cotton than what I find optimal for the actual vaping of this thing (as the seepage is during filling only.)

I do like the side airflow- for me at least it produces less noise than the Goliath, and I also find coils gunk more slowly (which I think is a function of how much air is hitting how much surface area of the coil.)

However, after a few days of using the Bellus I'm going back to the Goliath v2. The pros outweight the cons, for me, though that doesn't seem to be a popular opinion.

I mostly wanted the Bellus as an upgrade to the G2 so I could top fill on the go, and not have to use a needle tip bottle. The amount of effort that takes negates the advantage though.

The airflow ring is too loose. I often find myself turning it accidentally with just the lightest touch, and that's a pain on the xvostick because I have to take the Bellus off the mod to adjust the airflow.

I don't like the snap on deck. Some seem to find it convenient, but I find it much harder to grip when trying to screw or unscrew it from my ohm-reader, and then I end up putting fingers all over my wick. To me, Goliath 2 wins again in this department.

My preordered one from 101vape arrived today, the one I've been using I got from Origin because 101 was taking too long and I didn't cancel theirs. I regret my impatience. I'll see if i can return /exchange it (unless someone in San Francisco who wants a Bellus wants to trade me something for a new-in-box one.) :)

A fair assessment (though I paid about $25 for mine.) I've really enjoyed my last two tanks, the UD Goblin and the UD Goliath- I felt each was better than the last. (And I still use my ancient Igo-W for flavor tasting!) For me the Bellus is a step sideways, or perhaps backwards from the Goliath and any complaining or disappointment on my part is because I was hoping to love it more than UD's previous offering. After all don't we all buy these new toys looking for an improvement over the old ones? I only need one tank at a time, so to me 'good for the value' is not a worthy investment if I don't prefer it to what I had before.

Live and learn with vaping. Now I'm curious about the Crius :)
