I know this is common sense, but I hadn't thought out it today, until I switched juices. Id been running my ITC hi vg juice, which is delicious but very thick, working well with short tails on the wicks. Tonight I swapped to some steam juice that is equally delicious, but much thinner, it's like 60/40 vg/pg, and I had a mess. I realized that longer tails to almost the bottom of the wells are needed for thinner juice, but will cause dry hits for thicker juice. Short fat tails just sitting on top of the wells works great for hi vg blends, but will flood and gurgle on thin juice. Just reiterating that you have to tune your wicks to your juice. Same with my aromamizer, but my mutation MT the same wicking works for 50/50 or Max vg. It doesn't care...

cool, i used them as dual coil. I totally need to get better as a coil guy. I usually take them in to the B&M nearby to have them built lol. I know, im a cheater. I am using it on a stingray mech and it is really working great. Can you explain a bit more about what you mean in regards to not leaving the cap off for too long or it will leak? Every time I top filled it leaked like crazy. Now I cant even get the top cap off, bottom fill for me i guess. Flavor really is great out of this one.
ur using a mech... without checking the resistance ? thats very scary... lol

Received my black bellus a few days ago. Unfortunately this is not a replacement RDTA for the Le magister. Lot's of airy mediocre flavor draw. Another one for the atty graveyard.
I really should stop reading this section of the forums because I have more than 20 atties collecting dust.
Try aromamizer, my first leak free rdta lol

Sorry to hear that. I've never even heard of that rta you listed, but I looked it up... Is it a tight draw, mtl tank? It's pricey! I like my Bellus, and a couple others I have, I think if it was only flavor my old nautilus are pretty good, but I enjoy the flavor I get from the Bellus and such, and the large amount of vapor... Did you try cutting the airflow way back and running single coil?? I had pretty intense flavor with that setup, but it was too restricted for my preference. If you don't like the Bellus I wouldn't recommend the aromamizer. It's even airier with less flavor, using equal builds to the Bellus.

Le magister is a tighter draw, has 3 air holes, the medium size one is a nice restricted direct lung hit. Clone is pretty cheap. I love it but I got tired of the 2ml capacity. I used a single 2.5mm nife48 coil in the Bellus. Tried the coil high up and low on the deck. Even with only one tiny air hole open I still get muted flavor.

Thanks @roxynoodle I have been lurking on this page a bit and finally bought one. This one is a definite winner :) I had the authentic Le Magister and this Bellus blows circles around it IMHO :) I have my first build it it machine oil and all and the Taste off my Ry4 is Phenomenal atm :) I will have to vape it some more to really see how she taste but I'm impressed so far :) It's one of my top atomizers and I have have it proudly sitting on top of my Releaux 200 :) Thanks again! Back to lurking :p

I went a different route tonight, 2mm Id coils, 24 ga 8 wraps spaced. Wicked it normal, left tails long enough to hit the bottom of the wells... With 2.5 mm Id coils if I hit the bottom of the wells, it pinches and its dry hits if I chain. This is perfect, .25 ohm, 40-50 watts, no gurgles, leaks, or dryness. Plus the 2mm Id coils open up the airflow a lot! Try it If you want to!!

That's interesting since I'm using 2mm coils also, and also am wicking to the bottoms of the channels. 2.5mm does give you a significantly bushier tail.

John, after playing with the wicking extensively following the fix, I'm convinced that long wicks will create leaks and allow juice to pass into the chamber directly, bypassing the wick.

The groove around the top of the wick channels is slightly deeper than the groove around the top of the deck, which can create a gap between the groove and the wick if the wick is too long. Is it possible this is why yours is wicking better?

Playing with the wick length I'm finding that cutting to precisely the depth of the wick groove gives me the best seal. After that it's balancing the wick density to get enough flow without flooding. In this way I'm able to get top filling to work well.

When I can find the macro lenses for my camera I'll post a pic.

Id be interested to see what your looking at... Mine, I'm convinced, is working perfect, and not getting any juice through anything but the wick. My wick density is seeming perfect with the thickness of the tail that is left after an appropriate sized wick for the 2mm coil. When I used 2.5, which most do, I had to wick it and carefully cut the tails to the top edge of the wick holes, or comb and thin the tails if I was going to tuck them in. it worked, but it was tedious. Now with the 2mm coils I can just wick it easy, without feeling like a surgeon performing bypass surgery. It just works better for me... I can say this thing is no longer tedious to wick, but I'll post if I have issues after I rewick. This was just a random idea to try some spaced 2 mm coils, maybe I got lucky, but it works so far... It also keeps up, I opened up the airflow and hit it with 65 watts, but I'm enjoying good lung hits and excellent flavor with 6 airholes open, 50 watts, on these .25 ohm 24 ga 8 spaced wraps.
@roxy, lmao at the "significant bushy tails"!!
I like it!
