That's really weird. If you're filling them the same way, with the same juice, they should be acting pretty much the same. I can't imagine what the switch could be doing that it wouldn't do to all of them.

Do you have access to a multimeter to check the resistance? The only thing I can think is that the burned tasting ones are deviating way low in their resistance. Smoketech cartos, IME, aren't as consistent with their resistance as Boges. They tend to vary +/- about 0.3ohms. Still, that shouldn't really be enough to make them taste burnt unless they're below even 1.4ohms, but it's the only thing short of being too dry that I can think of.

I assume you're getting plenty of vapor like the first one, except it's burnt tasting? The only explanation is the coil is burning too hot or the filler's too dry. I seriously doubt it's anything to do with the switch or it would affect all of them. Besides, the e-Power is unregulated. It can't give you any more voltage than the battery puts out.

This is one of those cases where it pays to have a meter around. You can find out what the difference is between that first carto and the others.

No, no access to a multimeter. I added a few edits to my post, too...the problematic cartomizers don't make much vape either. I know I've filled them well, they have juice dripping out out the threaded end and I have some juice in the air-hole so it makes a bit of a burbling noise. In other words I've kept filling and filling, thinking they are not full enough, until now thei're over full.

Edit: Actually on the first draw some seem fine, quite a bit of vape. Next draw the carts get hot to the touch and the vape tastes burnt. The filler is well saturated. I know this first one which is working perfect is not going to last me forever. The atty/carts that it came with seem to work fine, so I can always fall back on those, or even dripping right on the atty. It's for intermittent use anyway.

Man, I'm at a total loss. I'm not a huge Smoketech carto guy, but those are supposed to be the best of the lot.
It would be a lot easier to figure out if they weren't working at all.
Set them aside and see if the new switch has any effect. Maybe the one that's working is the real defective one and it's working when it shouldn't be because the switch is not working right.
Ehh...That would make more sense if your battery was regulated.....

O.K.. I know. I'm grasping at straws. Just out of ideas. What are the chances of getting 3 of 4 defects?
If it wasn't Smoketech, I'd say nearly nil. It sounds like they're just way too low of a resistance, but you can't confirm that without a meter.

I just spoke yesterday with a friend and he has the 1.7 cartos BUT the box they came in are NOT the same box I was getting. On the face of the white box in large black letters is the word SMOK. I filled a carto myself because he was getting burnt taste. Sure enough after a few vapes the carto got hot and the burnt taste happened. The ST that I buy are in a white box and have the lettering on the face of the box:
510 1.7+-2 ohms
Stainless Single Coil
Steel
The defective carto box says:
SMOK in large letters on the face of the box
On the box end tab:
510 1.7+-2 ohms
Stainless Single Coil
Steel
They are definitely not performing as they should and the diff in the box lettering is completely diff from anything I've ever ordered.

Glad it's not only me. Mine was a white box which had NO writing on it but on the end has 4 stickers on it -- "510", "1.7+-0.2ohm", "Black", "Single Coil". However the individual cartomizers are labeled CCV LR1.7 in small letters near the threads. I've got a new switch and 5 new carties on the way, I'll report how those look and work.

Hey Jb0nez I also used to chew and got off of it with my good ol pv. I also used tobaccoless chew I got from Walmart to help with the feeling of something in my lip. I slowly used the fake chew less and less until I didn't need anymore, the cool thing was it actually had (the name escapes me) but something in it that was good for your teeth and helped whiten them back up.

I started chewing when I was 13 and quit January of this year when I was 18. You can do it man! I had to start at high nicotine because of all the nicotine in chew but that's just me I was up to a can maybe more a day. The best of luck to you! I'm at 5 months dip free on the 14th

Oh and just another point of reference in troubleshooting -- the atty's work great.
I just got my havana flavor from americaneliquid, and wanted to try the havana, so broke out the last of my 5 cartomizers; same situtation with the other 3. I don't get it. To taste it I did do the drop right onto the atty technique, works fine. (Though I can't say that the Havana is all that great tasting -- nothing like a real Havana :)
Edit: Even using atty's with cartridges is ten times better than the 4/5 non-functional cartomizers :(

I'm not sure what Vapoor got a hold of, but the ones you have are almost certainly genuine Smoketechs. CCV has them specially inscribed with the company's intitials by Smoketech, whose products he sells a lot of. When you have something specially made for you like that, you won't get the same packaging that's used for normal retail sales. Smoketech also labels a lot of their stuff "Smok". It's the same company. I think that's what they even put on the Vmax. Just "Smok". Kind of like "Joye" and "Joyetech" are the same thing. I guess they're trying to save ink or something, lol.
