well, what cartomizer would you recommend? that will work with the eGo system if possible
if not, then what?

Sorry I wasn't able to answer before. I was at work and now I am home.(travel time and errands) But I think the others have been very helpful and had a lot of good ideas for you.

You know,I have never had any problems with the eGo-t's or the tanks. Now see, probably just jinxed myself,lol. I did double the flavor on some of my juice and it is tasty, but vapor is good. I must either hold my nose right or maybe I am just lucky to not have experienced the problems other have.

It was kinda funny though, because i was really upset, and my brother was chuckling because he wasnt having any problems at all, and i was having nothing but problems, then i came into his room a few days later to ask him if he had had any regular smokes, and he said, "no, but i'm thinking about it , because this thing just started leaking'...and i couldnt help but kill myself laughing...karma's a ..... aint it?

Yes it can be. I also use ce2 xl...and once in a while I will use the mega ego cartomizers(the ones you fill with a syring). Some of my flavors don't taste the same on different cartos so I don't stick with just one kind.

If you can figure out how to get the puncture plate out and fiddle with the wick, most of the time you can usually (not always) get the eGo-T to work well. That's too much for a lot of people and I can understand that. I didn't like the taste though. The LR atties are a lot better IMO.

Ok, that being said I think an ego style is probably your best bet.

The benefit of this model is you will have some options later such as lower resistance atomizers for more power. the only thing to decide now is Tank or standard atomizer kit. I have not tried the tank myself but the plus side of that one is it has an off option to keep the atomizer from firing in your pocket(hit button 5 times to turn the unit off). Either way you can switch to standard at any point just by ordering a standard cone and atomizers. The batteries are the same other than the "off" option on the Tank batt. I think it is 3.7 but dont quote me.

Also some people have reported that the original Tank design had wicking issues ( Problems getting the juice from the tank to the atomizer) A newer version has been released to iron out the kinks in the last couple of weeks so your going to want to look for Tank eGo's called "type B" these are the revised versions. The type A may be a lil cheaper but thats cuz they are being liquidated.

P.S. I like where your head is at with the Value before price atitude. Very smart. I often wonder how many people get turned of by vaping due to cheaping out and ending up with a poor opinion of it based on a crapy PV. Also factor in how much you pay for cigarettes. In Massachusetts where I live I was paying $8.30 a pack. My first PV cost me $80. So at a pack a day it paid itself off in less than 10 days.

well I just woke up from a random nap.....

I did pick up a unit today/yesterday.

I went with the regular eGo. I did this for 3 reasons.
1) I got the price lowered a little on the eGo by letting him know about the liberty flights deal
2) He recommended the eGo vs. the eGo T for a newb. I don't remember the exact reasoning/s but he seemed sincere about it. Maybe he had the "A" unit, and didn't want to get hassled about problems it may have?
3) I read about the A and B type, and had no way to tell which one is which, so, I heeded his advice.

so far so good..... I've only tried the cartridge method(stock) so far, and it seems good enough. But will definitely be experimenting to see what I like best with this unit.

I would have recommended the Ego-T also, less fuss. I know some people have had issues with theres but mine worked fine right out of the box. You can always buy an Ego-T atomizer and tanks later down the road if you want to give it a shot.

Just wanted to thank everybody for their input. THANKS

FYI- I still have my eGo(now a backup)... something is really starting to taste like cr@p on it. Gotta clean everything out.
I did pick up one of those SP2s, and am using a iGo Carto(mobile) in one, and a 510 Dual Coil carto(home) in the other.... so far so good.
