On Monday I should get at least one of my kits if not both. I am so ready to do this after reading how much everyone loves their devices. All the help I have recieved has made me even more impatient.

My packages are going coming from places close to me. One is coming from about 3 hours away, and the other I think is about 6 hours away.

I was excited I won from the prize patrol yesterday. Wonder if the prize patrol is through out the forum or just in the newbie section. When I won, I hadn't even really expected it. I had planned to offer what little input I had for another person. I should have waited to order my stuff....just a few hours later I won. That is ok cuz I know I am going to need more supplies.:)

I will still need help. I haven't found information on the condom or spin method for filling yet. I will have starter sets, but I don't know which cartomizers and cartridges work best with the Ego and Vapor King XL. And I somehow forgot the information I read about washing the cartos and carts.

Have you guys figured out how much you spend on average per day? My smokes were cheap - $4. I probably spent about $3 a day on smokes. So I might not save much money thus making any help very good for me. I don't want to spend more than I did with smokes. I will be happy to save my lungs even if I don't save as much money as I hope for.

@ alovingmommyof3. Once I got past buying all the hardware all I need is the occasional atty, carto's and juice. I go through an atty or two a month @ about $8 each and 60 to 80ml of juice @ $10/30ml. So my expenses are around $40 to $60 I would guess. Standard 510 cartomizers are pretty good on the eGo. LR atty's are my favorite and do great for dripping. Cart's are not worth it in my opinion since you have to fill so often, you might as well just drip and save the hassle and extra expense of carts. Congrat's on winning the prize, what did you win?

I have found that standard 510 cartos on the ego just don't cut it. The vapor production, flavor, and TH just aren't there for me. I would go with some LR cartos for the ego. You still have to take a slightly long draw(3-5 seconds)but you get a cloud instead of a poof. I got mine from Electro Nic Stix and love em.

banjo is right, after your initial hardware expenses it levels off a lot, unless you're a gadget collector. Once you settle on a good vape machine that works consistently for you, it's just juice and a few parts now and then. If you spent $3/day on smokes that's over $1000 a year. You should be turning a profit after a few months.

I won a 25 dollar gift certificate. It will help replenish items so I am glad. Thanks for the tips on attys. I hope to spend closer to the lower end of your range.

Dumb newbie question. LR = low resistance? I see that acronym and just guessed. I may need to try those.

I am a gadget collector! But I can't afford to be.

From my experience, in your first couple of months of vaping, you are going to spend way more than you did on smokes - hardware, spare parts, juices, etc.. Enjoy yourself, and don't be too concerned initially about the money. Just think of all the benefits you get by being smoke free....

Thank you for the encouragement. Unfortunately I have to worry about the money. I wish I didn't though. I am so glad for this forum though, it would have cost more without it!

Hey there Mom, Welcome to the forum. At $4 a day, you are either a very light smoker or you have access to cheap smokes! I was looking at a $10 a day habit, so I have saved over a thousand dollars so far. This forum is a great place to help you save money. Watch for the sales from the various suppliers. Join the Pay It Forward group and you can try out different juices just for the cost of postage. Like others have said, as long as you don't go crazy with equipment you'll be okay. I limited myself to $100 a month in the beginning and now get by on maybe $60. I vape a lot, so your costs may even be less. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Fortunately, you chose two really good PV's to start with. This alone will save you a lot of money and frustration. Here's a couple tips for saving a buck or two vaping:

*always look for a coupon whenever you place a new order. Just google the name of the company and the words 'coupon code', half the time (or more) there's an unadvertised coupon out there you can use to get a discount.

*consider DIY juice (mixing your own). You don't have to try it now, but just watch a video about it or something - I think the big savings is in DIY juice.

Have Fun!

I finally sat down last night and figured out what I have spent. Dang! lol I started vaping/ordering the week of 9/6/10. I have spent $500!!!!!!! But, I have not smoked even 1 analog. I have exactly 33 (1 pack + 13) cigs in my freezer for just in case. So I would have spent about $250 on analogs in this time to last til next payday. That makes me down $250. BUT I have also gave my sister my first 510 kit and she has almost quit analogs and that is priceless. :D
I'm not allowing myself (i.e. don't have any $$) to buy anything until next payday (2 weeks away). Then I am going to budget $75 a payday. hehe Yeah right. lol
