Asmo -- You probabley have seen this guy,RipTrippers,on Youtube. I'm posting this for you because it's a easy way to understand how to best build those coils.

Happy vaping Buddy :vapor:
~ Siri

Yup. His older videos show he was at one point a highly intelligent, and sane man. He now lays on the goober really thick for YT. I get it, it's about subs. Not blaming him. But that's where my slouching tiger, super, mega, nano, micro, helix, dragon coil- comment came from. I've watched a ton of his stuff as his level of detail is top notch, and his camera is crystal clear. There are so many video's I just cannot sit through on YT, from informative people - that shot their video of them winding a really small wire... with a potato.

I also like vaping with twisted 420. He drops the boy scout profanity ban they have going on in here, and I love people who treat an 18+ hobby like an 18+ hobby. His camera work is also good, he does a lot of clone reviews and builds. (While being likable, and funny)

Plus if you flip to his other channel you can watch them liquify a windshield or car door with a bass drop.

Anyway, I've watched nearly a hundred videos of coil builds so far. What I really need to understand is the size wire, and amount of turns - and how that correlates to resistance. I would like to build some coils for the VW stuff I have as WELL as powerful things in the RDA's on the mech. So like a 1.5-2ohm in the IGO-L for the VV3. And then maybe a basic 1 or 1.5 ohm dual on the helios. I just want to get my feet wet before I'm messing with sub ohm stuff. And then we'll see how low I want to go.

Asmo, your progress is awesome. Nothing like a good vape while building a good coil.

Since this is still in the New member sub, I do want to caution all new people. Even with mod background, Asmo spent a great deal of time learning the details and taking proper steps. (Just doing is very fast) Rebuilds on mech isn't something you want to approach lightly and highly recommend doing a thorough research.

Lastly, let's try to refrain from further discussion on advance build topics on this thread. There are other sub forums dedicated for that and plenty of veterans who can really help. It is a good thread showing how much one should learn before jumping into rebuildable. But if the topic starts move heavily into advance builds, moderator might have to move the thread to other sub forum.

Yeah not trying to push anything. Just figured it was my thread, so it was extremely, did I mention extremely? Convenient that people stuck around past "hi" and "welcome" to help me dig into a lot of this stuff. And it was all in one place where I could simply jump back in and read posts again.

I'm honestly not looking to start with anything crazy when the RDA's get here. I was asking about the wire and turns so I can build something reasonable and safe to start with. (Effective would be nice too).

Just to be clear, this isnt yet another newbie going straight to sub ohm stuff and dangerous set ups.

Glad to hear I did ok! It seemed like the largest thing I could really keep portable throughout my day that had some options and a little more power than something like a analog clone.

I'd really like some input on wattage? For now I think voltage I can muddle my way through by going by manufacturer recommendations. IE: This coil = X.Xohm set at X.X volts.

Wattage I'd gather is just like power? Translating to... heat @ the coil? Intensity, duration? A little clarification there would be helpful. Any kind of even basic illumination on the subject would be good. And I'll take a link if no one wants to type it out. :)

Anyway, here's the Innokin.

I spy an evo

It looks like you got a pretty decent list. I don't know how the protank mini performs, but the regular protank 2 ended up leaking and gurgling on me quite a bit. The stock coils also seemed to be very hit and miss, but it may have just been the ones that I got. I only had 7 out of 12 that actually worked for a decent amount of time, but they all broke down much sooner than I thought that they should. Istarted rebuilding them with 32ga kanthal and had some luck for a while. I have since just given up on them and went with a couple of rebuildables. My favorite right now is the Taifun GT, although that might be a little big for your setup.

Overall ithink you did very well, and anything you do to stay off analogs is a great step forward!

Got my nemesis clone last night.

You know. You see this stuff online and you think its all going to be the size of the innokin 134. This thing is tiny. In some of the smaller battery sizes its downright mini. But yeah, we kinda expected it to be the size of a mag lite. Idk why?

It was supposed to be an hcigar clone. But I grabbed it on eBay and I honestly just can't tell 100%. I watched some videos and it looks like the one Vape happy was selling. But it appears to look and work good. The button seemed mildly crunchy and that was supposed to indicate it wasn't an hcigar. But I disassembled the button and sorted out the secondary spring and its smooth and doesn't bind at all. So. Just waiting on my batteries and atomizers from a separate order.

She threaded her pink protank 3 onto it and I could already see where it was going. So I'll probably be getting another one soon, before mine gets commandeered.

Where is a good source for cotton?

Nice Neme Asmo -- Yeah they are small remember the belt buckle collection pic? It will be even smaller without the kick ring.
You can find cotton in the beauty section of Walmart, Rite Aid, ect. I use cotton balls (organic) I got a life time supply at Walgreens. :D

Latest round O' Vape mail. Bwahahahahhaha

My counter is getting full.

Here's my first coil. 32G on a 3/32 drill bit. Came to 1.5 ohms. Lit perfect from the center!

Stuffed with the cotton I boiled then baked in the toaster oven. (Ive already changed the way I stuff this. Curling one end under the coil and using less wick in the deck.

Battery (should have been batteries! >_< they shorted me! ) is charging for the nemesis so fired it on the VV3. It fires 1.5 ohm.

Got a Helios and aqua to play with now too. Figured I'd start on a single coil in the Igo.

Really .... hurt they shorted me my 18350!

ETA: Never doing 18MG+ in a dripper RDA again. I wanted to compare the menthol I use in the protank to the IGO. Same wattage. Single coil... What's the difference, right?

Yeah...

There's a difference FYI.

Hate to say I told ya soooooooo...lmao

Hears Asmo dumping everything but mod juices and RDA in a box..cling clang clung! :D

Actually, quite the contrary. I'm rocking the Vision Twist with the MPT2 today. The VV is at home. The mech mod made the trip just to see if it was feasible. It's not super practical with an Aqua on top and an 18650 in the tube. But I'm hesitant to use it a lot as I can't monitor battery voltage without a volt meter. And I don't 'know' yet when it's going to be at that point where it's low and - yeah. Too many "I don't know's". (I'm using a Sony 186500 VTC4) Which, does not seem to last super long? Although there were two of us pounding on that thing yesterday trying dozens of flavors in the RDA's.

Also, the VV3 will fire sub ohm 'single' coils. I'm sure with a limited output and at a severe strain to the unit. The 1.5 ohm single I wound in the IGO-L works VERY well on the VV3. It even works on the spinner! Now that's a nice pocket dripper! I was using it to test coils last night, and with a meter, and when the VV kept getting the same result, I stopped pulling out the meter. It fired a .7 dual coil in the helios. But wouldn't glow them. So I pre-fired it on the mech. It has no problem with the Aqua and the 1.8's that came in it.

I still like my mini protank 2 with my daily menthol blend. I like the tighter draw and the flavor. I put it in the IGO-L and nearly had to sit down. The convenience is just 100%. And it doesn't KILL me. I'm still learnin' and experimenting.

Honestly, the hotter lower ohm stuff isn't turning out to be much of my thing. The IGO-L with it's stock air hole is just killer for flavor. Single coil and all. The Helios (I ended up around 1 ohm in it after scrapping the sub) still just wanted to let a ton of air in and muted flavor. I had maybe a half of a hole or less open for each coil.

Another side note is that the Moon Mountain juices are good. Like, good good. The colorful backstory behind all the stuff makes you kinda go... uhm... are we 12? But their stuff is legit. First time every flavor I bought was good - period. Right out of the box. No steep. Just - bangin' immediately.

The pom lemonade one went right in the aqua. The watermelon mint one is equally fabulous. Again, they are all good. If you haven't tried any of their stuff. I would.

Quick question for you Siri. The 18650 battery still required me to take the trim ring and the smaller section of tube out to run it. Are these to use a kick AND a 18650 AND a fuse? I thought the full set of tubes would just be the 18650.
