Hi all,

Just started on ecigs a few days ago and have decided I will never go back to regular cigs. My hands and clothes don't stink, my teeth are no longer being stained yellow and my head actually feels clear for once. My main problem is making this work for me financially.

I bought an njoy express kit from Walmart to try them out. Rechargeable Express Kits - NJOY The problem is there is not enough nicotine in them (1.8% iirc) to get a proper hit. I have to suck on it to even feel like I am smoking.

So I went to Walgreens and bought a Blu Diposable that has 24mg nicotine in it. That gave me a nice throat hit. But my Walgreens only sell the disposable blu - no kits. Online the blu kits are so expensive and then I read that they're not v. good but more importantly they don't have cartridges with nicotine levels as high as 24mg (goes up to 16mg only). Only the disposables seem to have that level. But, the disposables sell for $10 each which is more expensive than a pack of regular cigs so I can't keep buying them.

My question is, can I do anything with my already purchased njoy express kit? Like, are there generic cartridges that I can buy online that will fit the kit but with more nicotine in them say around 24mg? I really don't want to get into making my own or ordering a slew of equipment just yet. Kinda wanna buy something that works, and enjoy it for awhile. It's ok if it costs more - once it isn't costing me $10 a day like these Blu cigs. If I got it down to the price of my regular smokes per day I would be happy. Then maybe later I will look into doing more for myself.

I see mention of an Njoy Npro kit but I am unsure if this is the same thing that I bought or if what I have is useless in the vaping world. I would like to try to get some use out of it if possible. As it stands I can't smoke those cartriges that it came with since they're too light so it's just sitting there.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have any experience with the NJoy but wanted to welcome you to ECF. For about $40.00 you can get a great starter kit excluding juice. Juice would cost about $10 per 30 ml and should last a minimum of 1 week. The Kgo is a highly regarded 3.7 volt PV with two 1100 mah batteries- 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before recharge.
SLB KGO Starter Kit
Good Luck.

Get a KGO if you're not ready for a big device like the Lavatube or Provari. Stay away from the minis, battery life sucks and prefilled cartos get REALLY expensive quick. I started with Greensmoke, only stuck to that for less than a month, then moved on to a Lavatube and I'm in Vape Heaven....:)

Thanks for the welcome. That kit does look nice and from the sound of it would save me quite a bit of $ in the long run but I am nervous because I know so little about the technology that I am unsure what else I will need. Could I just buy this and some juice and I am done? Where is the nicotine and how do I know what level I am getting...is it in the juice? I have no idea what a shorty cone is but it's asking me if I want one or two of them. Does it require cleaning and mainteneance etc?

If I bought this and some juice today would I need anything else?

With a KGO, you can use empty cartomizers also available from their site (get extras!) and lots of other places. That kit comes with 2 batteries, get an extra one in case one dies on you. And juice, of course. Best places for juice (IMO): www.momandpopvaporstore.com and KickBassVapor E-Liquid, but there are tons of vendors out there that have decent juices. Get sample sizes (no more than 10 ml) to try and find "your" juice......... Good luck and Have Fun! :vapor:

Thanks for the welcome.
You're welcome.
I DIY my juice but many here order hardware from one vendor and juice from another.
I am nervous because I know so little about the technology that I am unsure what else I will need.
The DarkCityVapor Kit comes with everything but I would order an extra pack of
Smok Tech XL 510 Single Coil Cartomizer - 5 Pack They are perfect for the Kgo and are XL/ extra large and hold 1.8 ml of juice so less filling.
Could I just buy this and some juice and I am done?
Yes but as suggested buy an extra pack of crtomizers.
I have no idea what a shorty cone is but it's asking me if I want one or two of them.
They are basically for looks and sometimes prevent juice from dripping- one should be adequate.
When ordering the kit order the Smok Tech XL 1.7 Ohm Cartomizers so you will end up with 10 cartomizers ( 2 Packs)

Dont worry about the Shorty cone. another cartomizer that has a high reputation are the Boge 510 LR 2.0 ohm cartomizers. Also darkcityvapor has great juices.

Also get one Ego mega dual coil cartomizer. Will hold about 2.5 ml. Some of my friends use them exclusively on their kgo.

Because the Kgo is 3.7 volts you'll get more of a kick from it. How much did you smoke and what brand? I began on 36 but the standards seems to be either 18 mg or 24 mg. 36 mg is usually too strong for most.

What would be a good nicotine strength for the juices? The Blu disposables that I am using are 24mg but I wonder if I should go higher to assure myself a proper "hit" each time, or is that a non-issue since I am using a highly recommended kit?

One Kgo battery will last you most of the day if not all day. When you order liquid check the PG and VG amounts in the liquid. More PG gives more throat hit and less vapor and VG gives more vapor with less throat hit. Most people use no more than 20 or 30% VG if they really like throat hit. Also you will be able to choose the nic strength of your liquid and most vendors do offer 24 mg so no worries there.

I started on a KGO clone called the Riva, with 18mg and 24mg and the 24mg does give a better throat hit to me. With the new kit you're going to be getting a lot more vapor, so you'll be getting more nicotine as well. If you've got the money you might want to try a bottle of 18mg and 24mg to see which you like better. Since you're getting more nic with each puff the 24mg may end up being too much for you.

If you can't afford both, though, I'd say to go with the 24mg since you can always vape less often to get your nic fix, instead of having to chain vape 18mg if you're not getting enough nic.

Welcome and Congrats on making the switch! You will find that everyone has a different opinion on batteries, cartomizers, and juice. My advice: Find a local vaping club in your area, attend a meet, and experience these devices and juices first hand. The kGo is a great start, and i agree with the recommendation.

Welcome to ECF, you're going to love it here!

Thank you everyone for your responses, I am gonna take the plunge and order.

On avergae I smoke 10-15 cigs per day sometimes a pack per day if i'm out that night. But I was the kind of person who could never be without cigarettes.

Going back to your earlier suggestion of SLB KGO Starter Kit

Should I get a cone? or not bother.

Also, how do I purchase extra cartomizers? On that page it says Cartomizer Options. Is that an "extra" cartomizers or am I simply choosing the ones I want in the kit? I want to say this is an extra, since the price goes up. Sorry, I want to be sure. There's also the option to add "Ego Mega Clear Dual Coil Cartomizer Flat TIp (+$2.80) "

Just tell me what I should have checked plz :p

I also agree with the kGo as being a great starter. If you get that kit, an extra box of 5 cartomizers and juice, you'll be set. 24mg should be strong enough. I quit a 40 year, 3 pack habit instantly with 24mg on a lot worse rig than the kGo. Get small bottles of a few flavors.

One extra thing I'd recommend. Remember, you can't mix flavors in a cartomizer. You don't want to waste a cartomizer on a flavor you might not even like and you'll probably spend some time trying a lot of flavors to find the ones you like best. So, get yourself a 2ohm atomizer or two and a drip tip. Then you can test you juice and not waste cartomizers. You can also use the drip tip on the cartomizers. It's a lot more comfortable and makes it a lot easier to "top off" your cartomizers, which you have to do regularly so they don't burn and get ruined. If you have a drip tip, you don't have to mess with pulling the rubber end plug off every time you add juice to your cartomizer to top it off.

Don't worry about the short cone. You would never need it unless you are dripping from atomizers (which I doubt you would be anytime soon). It comes with a large cone which is only for appearance (not necessary otherwise). I suggest getting one ego mega dual coil cartomizer to try out. Some of my friends switched from boge cartomizers to these because they hold alot of liquid and they love them. I personally use normal boges cartomizers and a tank setup on my mod.

Don't bother with the cone.
Check the box with the 1.7ohm Smoketech cartomizers.
Those will be the extras. They'll send you 5 more of them, for a total of 10.
Choose your drip tip color and your kGo color.
The eGo mega dual coil isn't that great. Skip it.
Wait until you find some juice that you really like before you bother filling up a big carto with it.
If you are going to be ordering more than a couple juices, how are you going to find out if they're worth devoting a cartomizer to? You need an atomizer. If you get 6 flavors and only like 2 of them, you'll have wasted 4 cartos out of your 10.
Add a 2ohm atomizer to your kit and you can test juice without trashing a cartomizer.

Leave all the boxes unchecked, then pick the Smoktech 1.7ohm XL cartos in black, then a black drip tip, and black batteries from the 3 drop down boxes.

If you're going to order multiple flavors and want to test them out before you devote a cartomizer to them go and add one of these to your cart, as well.

Then go here and pick a couple juices you think you may like in 5ml sizes to get you started. You could also go to this page and get a sample pack of 3 different 5ml bottles for $6.25.

All those are on the same site, so you'll save a bunch on shipping and get them all at the same time.

Head over to YouTube and look at PBusardo's tutorial on filling a cartomizer and then Dr. Vapor's video on how to drip an atomizer.

That should get you started down the road without too many hiccups.
