Well I went to the mall to day to do some shopping around and I seen a e-cig booth I was wth is this? I figured hey I'll stop in and see whats going on with this e cig thing just to get some knowledge. Well I was talking with the guy for awhile and he goes wanna try it? I'm clueless and was like you can't smoke in here. He told me it was perfectly fine and so I tried it. It was pretty cool to do that and stuff. So now I want to get one because it is a lot safer seeming and is a cool gadget. So what would you recommend? Here was selling a bunch of different kinds and he said I should try the Blackjack. Whats your opinion on the Blackjack for a newbie like me?

Thanks James

You'll probaby over pay for it locally.

Really, you need to read the intro to e-cig/vaping posts at the top of this forum, and then start to break down what's going to work for you.

There are thousands of reviews/experience posts/opinions here, but if you dig, you will find the gold.....

Good luck in your efforts to eliminate analogs!

PS - I tried a two piece (Red Dragon) before I found these forums. The Red Dragon got shipped back (Money Back Guarantee), and I'm using a 510 from Totally Wicked, that I'm 150% happy with.

"Analogs" is forum-speak for traditional tobacco cigarettes. Since e cigs are considered by some to be "digital", the moniker "analog" just seemed to make sense.

Also, I agree to avoid the mall kiosk. Their products are over-priced and, in general, have a reputation for being unreliable.

Check out the new members' info as recommended earlier, and just pick one. You'll be glad you did! Good luck!

I'm looking at the Joye 510 right now, it seems like it is pretty good.

It's one of the recommended starter ones around here; before I bought, I lurked, learned, and decided on that as a first try too. Overall, I'm pleased with it; I haven't had an "analog" since the day after it arrived.

I bought mine from cignot.com (the "no box" reference might be a reference to their starter deal), but there might be better deals out there with various discounts from other online vendors as well. At minimum, get some extra juice with your starter pack; the five prefilled carts can go quickly, and you'll be left with nothing to vape. Good idea to get a variety of small bottles so you can try different flavors, learn what you like and don't like. Also probably a good idea to get a few extra atomizers (attys) and batteries, and/or a personal carrying case (a relatively slender cigarette-pack sized cig holder/charger unit) and/or a USB passthru (allows you to plug in directly to a USB port to vape - I use mine in the car with a cig-lighter adaptor, as well as at my work PC.)

This is just my experience, though, and it's early. Your mileage may vary.

to jruss91 and other ecig newbees. im 2 months into ecigs so let me say a few things. first the mall and the .... shops are overpriced and should be avoided. a good 510 kit with charger, 2 battery, 2 atomizer, and maybe some juice should run you 50-60$. people who smoke or vape heavy will find they need more battery time, i.e., they will need extra batteries. so far i love the vapor compared to traditional smoke. i hope new peeps dont get discouraged by bugs in the technology, as this is still a technology in its infantcy and progress is being made all the time to improve it.there are some very promising american made stuff out there that seems to outperform the chinese stuff that currently "owns" the industry. so be patient, learn all you can, and enjoy your vapes.

But, the starter kit should get you going.
A USB Passthru is a great investment, as it will keep you from using batt's while at home.

I get my juice from Johnson Creek, DIYFlavorShack & Ms T's.
My suggestion is to start w/ High NIC juice 30mg, and tone down from that if needed. Easier to go down, than fight the cravings, needing to go up immediately if you feel constantly feel the urge for an analog.

I started w/ the 30mg NIC juice after doing a lot of reading here, and it has completely killed the cravings for an analog. But, that's just my experience.
