Only you can answer that question. Many ex-smokers start with 24mg even higher and then reduce the nicotine as they progress in vaping. I started out with 24mg and am now at 12-14mg. It really depends on the individual, how much they previously smoked, and the brand(s) they smoked. I think 16mg is probably a good starting point and you may find yourself adjusting your nic intake up or down as time goes on.

Hi!

I know someone who's a LOT more knowledgeable than I am will answer on this and I'll be watching to see what they say :)

I do know that we're each different in what will work for us. A friend of mine smoked the same as I did and she does great with 12mg of her menthol juice. I was smoking a pack of basically full flavors, the local shop started me on 18mg but that wasn't enough nic for me so I got a bottle of 24mg. The 24mg was to much lol. If I'm using the e juice me up calc correctly I can mix the 24 and 18 in equal amounts to get a 21mg. So if you do end up deciding you need more or less nic the juice can be adjusted to your wants/needs.

Thanks for the inputs, quick turn abound time.
FYI I have been experimenting reducing the 16mg juices with pure VG, so far its not bad.
My goal is to keep vaping because I enjoy it but I would like to end up vaping without any nicotine, just flavors.
This way if the government ever ban it or tax the hell out of it, I could make my own juices.

Mild does not always mean lower nicotine then a regular. It usually means a milder or laughter blend (just like light ones are even more light) or the filter was different to allow more air in to make it feel lighter - milder. Unless the pack said 'lower nicotine and gave you a mgs then you essentially were a pack a day smoker and mild does not mean anything in reference to the nic strength.

Every some smoked different, inhaled more or less, let more urn up then someone else and so on. All of this effects the nicotine blood levels. Same with vaping, even a lower strength is you vape constantly will give you a higher level of nico in you body then if you vape and put it down for 30 mins.

Rule of thumb based not to rightly on the nicotine patch is q24mgs for a pack or more a day smoker 12-18 for one who smokes less or really did have a lowered nicotine ciggy. Lower nicotine ciggies have the nicotine strength on them so check that out. If it does thats your starting pint always starting lower rather then higher. If the low nic ciggy was a 1.7 then start with 12mg not 18.

I usually advice getting 2 strength like and 18 and a 24 for a pack a day smoker of reg nic cigs. You can adjust between the two or settle on one strength what ever works for you. Some people find that the higher nic level is perfect in the morning when nic level is lower, and during stressful time but evenings and relaxing its too much and they feel a bit greenish and switch to 18 (or 12 and 18 - whatever works).

I also advice that when you get your two strengths to start zeroing in on what's best for you you get them in the same flavor so flavor. is not confusing you as to what strength is better. Once you know the mgs that work best - the gor crazy with flavors.

Best advice I can give you. Sorry if its not the easy "just get this" answer but with vaping it never is. We all are different, smoked different have different experience so we have to find what feels best to use. Just remember with nicotine that if you start feeling queasy, a bit lightheaded or bussed (or just like you did with that first cigarette) its your body telling you your nic level is getting on the high side so you might want to switch back off a bit, use the lower strength or not vape as much for a while and inhale less deeply for a bit and so on.

ANd on the other hand if your vaping and still craving that cig in the middle of avape session, most likely you nic level is on the low side and you need to switch to the high strength nic, take more draws and/or inhale a bit more deeply.

I smoked a half a pack of Marlboro menthols a day.

I started a few weeks ago with Halo 24mg juice and that barely does it for me. Wish I went to one of the places that has 36mg.

I can sit there and vape for hours and it doesn't over-buzz me. If I smoked a cigarette for hours I'm pretty sure I would fall over so I'm not sure but the nicotine delivery has to me different. Not sure if that has to do with the other stuff in cigarettes or what but I would get the highest content if I was you as it almost seems impossible to OD on the nicotine..at least for me.

The symptoms of too much nicotine are dizziness, nausea, vomiting and anxiety.

The symptoms of too little nicotine are anxiety, vaping a lot without feeling satisfied and irritability.

I started on 26mg, went down to 12mg, but I find I vape less with 18.

I also have some 32mg, but it's very harsh and I hardly use it unless I know I will have a hard time finding a way to vape that day.

Some people want to drop all the way down to 0 nic. It's an admirable goal, but possibly not one to rush into.

That makes sense to me I never thought about keeping a lot of different milligrams around the house for how irritated I am or how much anxiety I'm feeling at that Moment I will try that And getting to a 0 mg is exactly what I'm going for I started at 12 mg I then went up to 18 mg i then went up to 24 mg and am now back to 18 mg currently trying to work my way down But for now it keeps the bear away

Vaping is a very personal program. Most start at 18 or 24 mg. Some, like myself, began at 36 mg and others have started at 12 mg. Many of us have and use varying strengths of nic juice. Stronger for during the day and lower for in the evening so our sleep is not affected. Many of us also have a higher mg on hand for those stressful times.
Nic od= headaches, heart palpitations and nausea.
Too low of nic and constant chain vaping, nicotine needs not met, irritability...also have to understand with chain vaping dehydration risk rises greatly.
I've converted a very large number of people and the starting mg is all over the place. Most, after a period of time and regardless of the mg level they began at, seem to level off comfortably at 12 mg.
Myself I'm down to 2 mg X 15-20 ml per week. I have no problem switching to 8 mg if need be. Toughest level for me to break was the 10 mg barrier. Bottom line is although it's been a long journey I have been stress free all along the way.
One PAD convert began at zero nicotine and is now smoke free 5 months. He now vapes zero mg X 2 ml per week.
