I have to admit, i didn't expected so many replies. I'm glad to hear about the health factor and the dentist's approval. I decided to up my budget to 100$ as i'm a believer of doing it right the first time and im really determined on switching to e-cigs whether i like them or not. Quite a few posted about their stories and if people who been smoking 2 packs a day for 20+ years then i shouldn't have too much problems. Since i spend 80-90$ a week in analogues, it wont take long til i break even and start saving money anyway so i'd say it's worth to up my budget.

As for the form factor, it was really only a preference and i could live with a nuclear powered pen til i completely quit my nicotine addiction. The 100$ though would have to include spare parts (like backup batteries and others if i need to) and the case. I really want a battery that can last me a day of use while being what some call a moderate smoker. If someone could point to a good website to order from (im in canada) it would nice as i dont have the 5 posts to ask the supplier list in the canada sub-forum.

Sorry for changing my budget, should've planed ahead.:(

Edit: How much ml of e-juice do you use in 1 day? Im looking at the GotVape starter kit and seems to have everything i want, but not sure if it's good.

No it is good you updated your budget, you will get what you really want now. GotVapes kit is good.

I would recommend The Vapor Room for your juice order. They have great taste and you get a free 15ml bottle as a first time customer, plus a 3ML sample bottle with every order as well. http://thevaporroom.net/salesfreestuff.html

If you like Tobacco flavors Mountain Oak Vapors has a special today on Black Forest for $4.99 15ml bottle - http://www.MountainOakVapors.com/dealoftheday.asp

Great way to get the most juice for your money.

This is true, I vape through about 5ml of my ADV (all day vape) per day. Maybe less if I'm playing around with other flavors.
Also if you're interested in the health aspects and what not a great show I've been following lately can be found at Vapers Place good group of guys over there that have a show every Wednesday night. Check back on some of the previous episodes for some great info and tests that are being done about the health benefits of switching over to ecigs. Also they have give-aways during the live show if you call in, some great starter kits and gift certificates for juice and stuff.

Your juice usage will vary, but always buy a bit more than you think you need. If you hit a flavor you really love, you are liable to vape it much more than normal. Anywhere from 3 to 5ML a day is probably the average. More than normal starting off of course.

Lots of good suggestions here, I hope it doesn't all get to confusing! I just want to add a couple notes, and I'll leave you alone with your decisions:

1) make sure you have at least two batteries. Most kits come with two. You don't want to be waiting to vape while you're recharging!

2) for initial purchase, I would stick with Canadian vendors. There (theoretically) shouldn't be a problem with ordering hardware across borders, but there is a small chance that juice would get turned away at the border. Even if everything comes through, I've read the occasional story on ECF where customs held things up. You would *most likely* be fine, but way take chances on your first order?

Yep also agree. After watching the USPS tracking for 2 weeks he'll understand another good reason to shop Cdn.

LOL- ummmmmm factor in the juice flavor quest, new shiny things, LR,SR, VV, and on and on....oh and did I mention the quest for the all day vape juice???:p

I agree with starting by deciding first if you want a unit that looks and feels like a fire-burner... or ...if you want/can handle a larger totally different and alien look and feel for the battery part. There is no right or wrong when you first start,(unless it's one of those "try me free" scam deals that are outrageously priced) as long as you want to switch to vaping, mentally you can make this work, and whatever works for YOU as an individual, is the right equipment. :2cool: Just make sure whatever device you choose, that you also get enough stuff for emergency backup plan B (spare battery, juice, cartos, etc). I suggest using the juice vendors that offer trial sizes and sampler packs until you find what you like, before ordering larger bottles - your taste buds will change, and you then may have sometimes "zombie tongue" periods, all part of the process, but that's better than the tar and carp from the fire sticks. Congrats on your decision to go forward in a better direction....YAY YOU! Best sale I know of right now is through electovape, they are extending their 50% off entire order sale to the end of this month I believe, at electovape.com just use code 50elec :)

I'l bump this thread as i still haven't settled on what i want to buy. Sorry if it took so long but 8 hours of overtime yesterday kind of killed my free time and i cant wait to hit the sack (most likely right after this post). I think i'm going to take the APVs/mid-size approach since i can choose exactly what i want and get something great right at the start. I know a lot of people like to upgrade their e-cig or try to be fancy and i respect that but my goal is to save as much as i can and eventually probably quit altogether so i dont want to have to upgrade. I looked at the new member forum and unfortunately there doesnt seem to have a lot of info on e-cig parts so that i can know exactly what tank is (im pretty sure i have a good idea tho) and make a more educated purchase.

I know about the batteries though lol, and i'm looking at the eGo C twist (i'm guessing it's those) as i heard great things about them. For a tank i also heard great things about the Vivi thingies, but they're quite a bit more expansive then the Stardust ones on Canvape. Im not completely sure about what other parts i need for an e-cig to work to its best without having any bling bling. so if anyone can enlighten me with a few links it would be greatly appreciated. I know i'll need wall/car chargers and probably a bottle with a needle along with a spare battery (what other spare parts are recommended to carry around?) but that's about it.

Sorry if this post is confusing because of bad sentence structure but i worked 24 hours and slept only 5 in the last 36 hours :S so i confuse myself too at this point lol. I plan on ordering this week-end to give me time to do a bit more search and hopefully get it next week. Not sure if i said it already but im getting a salary augmentation next week as well, i would really like to get another "augmentation" by not having to spend 80-90$ in cigarettes and keep that in my pockets.

It is good you know what you want. One thing though if you turn out to enjoy vaping, you can drop the nicotine level down to zero and use just every so often still. Just to enjoy it for the taste. Either way, getting off the cigarettes is the final goal.

I have a ViVi Nova myself and love it a lot. You will need the tank and some extra heads. My suggestions are to get the 2.5ohm heads for it, with the Twist you can get the higher ohms and up the voltage but you will sacrifice the battery life in exchange. The higher the voltage, the faster it will need to be recharged. If you don't plan on getting into this to deep a standard eGo style kit will be more than enough to get you where you want to be. The Twist is more for having the ability to change your voltage for different devices, not that it's not a good choice, just might be over kill to what you need. Let me switch to my laptop and I will post you some links.

I know about the batteries though lol, and i'm looking at the eGo C twist (i'm guessing it's those) as i heard great things about them.
Realize the 650 is about 3 1/2" and the 1000 is 5" long- add to that the Vivi and it's another 2 1/2". When I receive my Twists the 650 will be for out and about while the 1000 will be for home use.

For a tank i also heard great things about the Vivi thingies, but they're quite a bit more expansive then the Stardust ones on Canvape.
I've used both and the Vivi is a far superior system...well worth the extra $$
Im not completely sure about what other parts i need for an e-cig to work to its best without having any bling bling. so if anyone can enlighten me with a few links it would be greatly appreciated. I know i'll need wall/car chargers and probably a bottle with a needle along with a spare battery (what other spare parts are recommended to carry around?) but that's about it.
Juice bottles comes with a drip nozzle so no need for a needle but you'll also need:

atomizer- for testing new juices out- if the juice is foul tasting it's much easier to clean out.
510 Standard Resistance $4.49 Atomizer Black, Stainless & White

wall adapter
USB Wall Power Supply $4.95

usb charger- I would buy 2 to be safe as failure rate is high.
eGo USB Rapid USB Charger

Car charger- works with usb charger- well worth owning one in case of power failure IMO
USB Car Charger

Add to that some juice and you're good to go. Most new vapers begin at 18 or 24 mg.
Good Luck.

Alright well since the Twist is overkill and ill go with a regular eGo-c battery, then i might as well get the GotVapes kit as it has the eGo-C battery. Surprisingly enough the shipping is cheaper then on CanVape though i dont like the idea of ordering from US because of the time it sometimes takes and the surprise border fees i got before. I'll stick with the Stardust for now and see how it goes so i guess i should buy a few of these? I think that's the one used in the starter kit. So the Cartomizer's head is the only thing that needs regular replacement?

Yes that is all, just watch using Cinnamon juices on some plastic style tanks, it can cause them to crack. I do think that GotVapes setup is a great set for you to get and you can always get a ViVi Nova if you don't like the Stardust at all. Did you not find anything you liked at the Vaporus.com site? That was the only CA one that I have heard mentioned before in some online reviews.
