Newbie mistake, but maybe not so bad.

So I made an attempt at doing research on ecigs last week, and came to the conclusion that Greensmoke would be my best bet. Of course, right after I made my order I found this forum.

My kit should come in on Monday or Tuesday-- and I suppose I could send it back, minus restocking fee and the cost of the 10 cartomizers. If I were to do this, I'd probably end up getting a 510 or a 808d1. But ... after fretting about this for a couple of days now, I'm thinking things aren't so bad, and I may just give Greensmoke the benefit of the doubt.

1. I did get it at 20% off-- so it only cost me ~$100. (I know, still expensive ...) But if I return it, I lose $20 for restocking and $34 for the cartos, leaving me with only $46.
2. It comes with a PT in addition to the 2 batteries. That's kinda cool.
3. The batteries are under warranty for a full year.

That warranty seems like a pretty good deal. My only real hang-up then was being locked into buying only Greensmoke cartos. But I can either get a d2 to d1 adaptor, or I can get some blank d2s from LeCig and fill them myself. So it aint so bad. (Oh yeah ... also no PCC with the GSs:()

But I'm just trying to be a glass-half-full kinda guy. I think if I had my druthers, I would have gotten a Bloog or a Volt. I like the smaller stuff-- my only experience before now was with a crummy little 401 from 7-11 and a fairly large manual and disposable square82. The square82 performed pretty well, but it didn't feel like I was smoking. The 401 felt better, even though the carts were already almost dry and there was little to no vapor AND they didn't have any nicotine. (BTW, I'm still a PAD with analogues.)

Anyway, I've already put in an order for some Boba's Bounty and some Snickerdoodle, so I'm well on my way to being a vaper. :)

I would not expect Boba's or any 100% VG juice to work well in a slim ecig's cartomizers.

Just FYI

Greensmoke is KR808D-2 aka E9, incompatble with KR808D-1 though leCig sells D2 to D1 adapter and vice versa.

And you can use cartos from Smokestik Hendu, Red Dragon, Vapure (if they still exist), Smoke 51 Duo, and I think South Beach Smoke, leCig D2 cartos. Not Bloogplanet (some the previous Bloog model was D2, the current one is D1).

Blank cartos at vaporkings.com and maybe leCig D2. Zero support for KR808D-2 from 3rd party carto makers.

Cheap generic parts at AZSMokeFree.com.

eJomby..........Welcome to ECF. Sounds like you will lose more by returning what you bought. Most of the stuff you bought you will get some use out of. If what you bought gets you closer to quitting analogs then it's $ well spent. I made my fair share of errors when I first started vaping.........2+ years later I consider those mistakes well worth the cost!

Good luck!

The problem is that Greensmoke is a KR808-2. Difficult to get parts for so your locked into buying from them.

I'd use it until with warranty runs out and send it back. In the meantime see what you like or don't like about the mini. You may find you want something with a bigger battery and you can get an ego for $30. If you really like the mini you can pick up a KR808 or a 510 that are less expensive (although still more expensive than an ego) and you'll have an easier time finding parts.

They do have a 45 day warranty I think. So it'll cost you $20 to use their kit for 45 days. Not bad. No way would I keep a kit that costs $50 for a battery.

Figured the carto's may be worth holding on to.......but I agree......There are far better products to invest in.

The OP needs to decide whether it's worth the re-stocking fee.

100% VG doesn't work well in ANY carto because of how thick it is. I wouldn't go higher than 50% VG in a carto, and even that's kind of pushing it.

I would read a little more into that one year warranty on the batteries. Many places will only allow you to return 5 batteries per year before they stop exchanging batteries. I'm not sure if GS has implemented this policy or not, but I'd make sure. The GS batteries aren't the best, so don't expect them to last very long. That I can say from personal experience. GS was the first e-cig that I bought and I returned them 2 weeks later.

I say send it back, take the financial hit, and spend that $46 over at E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings on either a Riva kit for $29.99 + some low resistance atomizers or the Joye ego kit for $39.99. I'm not shilling for Liberty Flights, but they have the cheapest ego/ego style kits that I can find. Make sure to click the 20% off in the top left corner of their website.

I have used VG in several type of the small cartomizers and 808 type batteries with great results.
Although a mix would give a better TH. Try it before you give up.
I had the same feelings after buying my first PV but now I do not regret it at all. I have moved on to an ego-t with tanks and the dual coil carts, but sometimes I still use my little Red Dragon for the feel. BTW your Red Dragon carts work on Greensmoke Batts. Hope you enjoy vaping as much as I do, and welcome to ECF.

Never used a Greensmoke, just heard of them. dormouse is right (what else is new? ;)) about Boba's, though. You run a high risk of damaging your batt if you vape with thicker (more VG) liquid on a slim PV. Do you know if your batts are manual or auto? Less chance of accidental leakage if they're manuals.

I'd take up dormouse's suggestion and get a D2-D1 adapter. The KR808D-1's are infinitely more versatile... Although in my experience a lot of smoke shops and gas stations will sell D2's and their accessories because they ARE less versatile and people will general be more brand loyal. Just open up as many possibilities for yourself as possible, right? V4L sells yummy flavors of pre-filled D1 cartos and Kick Bass and Vapor Bomb are great sites to try for juice as they allow you to choose from a broader selection of PG/VG mix, and the higher PG's will vape better in your PV.

Welcome to the forum and happy vaping!
