I'm new... just started vaping 3 weeks ago. I bought my starter kit kr808 from SmokeTip because I was afraid I wouldn't like it and they offer a 30 day money back guarantee. I know I could have found cheaper, but the customer service was fantastic on answering my questions. Their cartomizers top off at 16mg, so I have bought those at higher levels and cheaper from other vendors.

Anyway, the two piece design is easy and has worked great for me. Analog free for the last two weeks. Best of luck in whichever design and vendor you decide on :)

Another vote here for the KR808. I smoked for 40 yrs, never planned nor wanted to quit .. from my first "drag" on my ecig I never wanted another analog. My first ecig was an eGo and it provided a fantastic vaping experience .. but as a woman I wanted something smaller, something that more closely resembled the size and look of a cigarette, not a cigar. That's when I bought my KR808 and I've been using it constantly for 8 wks and love it. I still have my eGo but plan to sell it because the KR808 is so easy to use and looks "good".

I dont care for pre-filled cartos, I fill my own with juices from TastyVapor and VaporsEtc. I started vaping at 36mg because I had smoked Marlboro Reds for 40 yrs, but after a few weeks I switched to dessert and fruit juices completely and am happy-happy. I bought all of my KR808 hardware from VaporsEtc and love the customer service that Ross gives. He has a 20% discount coupon going on right now .. the coupon code is LABOR, not sure when it ends as it is a labor day sale but it was still working earlier today. He ships super fast and stands behind what he sells.

Thanks again all!

Sounds like the majority has the KR808 vote with a manual battery for most success, possibly a 501 also. Perhaps next week when we get paid I will spring for an eGo as well for poops and giggles? Either way, sounds more promising hearing about E-Cigs from you folks, I'll let you know how it goes? Thanks to the ladies who responded especially because I will have her read this thread and hopefully it will reinstate her confidence in the tech from other women's points of view. : )

Do you recommend having a several batteries, as reading through the battery forum seems sometimes people have quite a few bad batteries?

I've never had a problem with bad batteries. I've got 4 for my 510 and 2 for the eGo and not one problem so far. But you will probably want at least 3 total, especially if she vapes heavily. I kept 3 in circulation because no. 1, I wanted to have at least one fully charged at all times, and no.2, I didn't want a battery to die on me leaving me only 1 to use. You will also want to get at least one backup atomizer, or an extra box of carto's whichever you are using. Also, keep at least a week's worth, preferably 2, of juice on hand at all times, this gives you time to order more if you start running low. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I don't want to have to go back to cig's for my nicotine.

I started with a Blu and then ordered Joye 520 starter from wordupecigs. I went with that, it's a mega 510, because I wanted analog look and feel, but got black cause I love the way they look. Jeffery is great and they make their own juice and have some pretty cool flavors. I've heard their analog flavors are very close to original. They are great and answering any questions and they won't encourage you to buy a lot of stuff they want you to be successful at dumping analogs. I was really impressed by them and now anxiously await the arrival of my new toy.

I started with the Smoke Tip and really was gung ho on it and even ordered 3 boxes of cartomizers! I still smoked the analogs while using it. :-( Ordered the 510 manual and have NOT gone back to analogs at all! When I get my charge card paid off from buying so many different juices, I plan to buy an Ego and am thankful the parts are interchangeable with the 510. I've also sent for an adapter, so I can use up those cartomizers on my 510. Best of luck to you, I LOVED smoking and had no plans of giving it up, but thankful for the ecig!
