Hey all. I knew some folk who vaped and the concept intrigued me, so tried a freebie disposable that was nice, but way too weak (10mg), and kinda left it alone until someone in work was talking about it and I happened to get a spam mail with the bank holiday discount for Apollo and I thought "why not?". I didn't want to quit smoking, but the expense was getting horrific, so with the voucher, I worked out that I could spent two weeks of smoke budget and hopefully have it last a touch longer. :)

Anyway, opted for the Apollo Superior eGo CE4 kit, a few ejuices from them, and had a bit left over to get some sample sizes from elsewhere to give things a whirl. Bumped up to the 18mg given how wussy that disposable was.

All going good now, not missing ciggies other than the oddness of not lighting up and playing with it (although given how much lighter have always hated me, I can live with never using *them* again!) and really enjoying it.

My couple of downsides so far:

1. Of the two clearomisers in the kit, one started leaking into the battery inside of a day. I had a peek around - how I discovered this place, so swings and roundabouts - and saw this seems to be a common enough issue with the CE4s. Contacted Apollo and they're sending a replacement, and the other clearomiser is going aces, so can keep it up until I know enough to know which ones are better to buy for me; it's hard to be sure which 'fit' both the battery and my style when half the references are still gobbledy ..... :p

2. Not sure if it's me, or branding, but one of the ejuices I've tried seems to just choke me. I've gotten on well with a coffee, tobacco, strawberry/champagne, and a clove (I'm fickle and am enjoying sampling it up) but this one gingerbread one, no matter how much or little I inhale, I cough and wheeze like the dickens, just cannot even get to taste it it burns and chokes me so! Which is annoying, because I'm a ginger addict and really wanted it to work. Does that sound like an issue with the brand's version of flavouring, or maybe I need a weaker one for the flavour, or is it just a write off? Was only a sample size, 2ml, so not pushed about chucking it, but I did so want to like it!

Anyway, hi! And any advise on juices/clearomisers is much appreciated.

Welcome! Not much specific to say other than that I'm discovering flavors I didn't expect to like, I'm loving and vice versa. My favorite juice is butterscotch. So much so I went from a 6 ml try of it to ordering a 30 ml 24mg bottle and just ordered a 30 ml 12 mg to either vape lower nic at night or cut the 24 mg from time to time. I love chocolate and coffee flavors but haven't hit ones I'm fond of. Didn't expect to like cheesecake but I love it. Try what you can afford and from different vendors in smaller sizes to start - in case you hate it. Then reorder bigger of those you like. Good luck!

Hey welcome!
The gingerbread may have a higher pg level than vg, or no vg at all. Pg tends to be more harsh and gives more of a throat hit. Or you may have a mild allergy to an ingredient in the liquid ( which is doubtful, but you never know ) E-liquids taste and feel different with different voltage settings as well, a voltage with one.. may not work with the other.. so getting a variable voltage battery might help as well ( if you dont already have one - ego twist rocks ) congrats on your transition!

I recommend trying Johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com or pinkspotvapors, Johnson have great tobacco flavors and pinkspot are great all around. My all day vape is Johnsoncreek domestic.. its very smooth and actually tastes a little like the real thing. ( more of a pipe tobacco )

Can't advise on the ce4 thing, they always leaked on me when I first filled them up. I think they wicked too much, got less leaking as I vaped it and towards the bottom they would give me dry hits if I didn't twirl it. What's the use of such capasity if there is only a small sweet spot for no leaks and no dry hits. I use old ce2's actually (with great success)but with supplys dropping I too will be looking for a better option. Does the ginger juice have cinnamon. It can be a heck of a punch if it does. You may be able to buy some vg and smooth it out more, but otherwise it's probably best to chuck it instead of irritating you lungs and throat.

Ahh that makes sense. All mine so far are PG going by the labels, and all with the same base ingredients except for the oh so specific "flavourings" component (although quantities apart from nicotine aren't listed), so it might be a different balance in the quantities or something in the "flavourings" not playing nice with me, or just designed for a different voltage (as far as I know my eGo isn't variable). Will leave it aside for now, maybe try again if I have another voltage or a variable in the future; for now I'm sticking with the basic kit and think again once I know enough to realise if something would do me better. Cheers for the welcomes!

Gosh, Apollo...I avoid them like the plague.

You'll always come across liquids that are either just "not you" or are unvapeable for some peculiar reason.

I wouldn't worry too much. Find a few you like and stick with them.

I wonder if ecigwizard still do a ginger flavour?
I also have a feeling that the "free" decadent vapours e-liquid at vapefest was ginger infused too. There might be some of that around people are selling... not that I'd give them much for it.

(Some people bagged multiple bottles....cheeky gits...)

Liberty flights must do a ginger somewhere in their range. Might be worth a phone call.

What about cinnamon? or aniseed?

Juices are highly subjective. I'm not in the UK so I can't advise as to quality, reliable suppliers, but find a good one or two and order a ton of the smallest size you can. Find a few good ones and you're set. Or, if you have a B&M with a tasting bar, go sample. Its also a great way to meet fellow vapers.

As far as the clearomizers go, I have loved my mini protank and mini protank 2 (glass tanks). The drawback is price. The evod is a very similar system, uses the same head, but the tank is plastic and it's about 1/3 the cost.

Yeah, the ones from Apollo are great, but their juice selection is fairly limited.

Have popped in an order for a few of those Vapourtine minis, thanks djsvapour! Will see how they go (jasmine intrigues me muchly!).

Yeah, had been looking at the glass 'uns because the coffee is so far my fav, and I heard the dark ones kinda falcon punch the standard ones, so might be worth the investment if it'll save me replacing too often, just wasn't 100% on if they fit the eGo, and prefer spending my spare cash playing with the juice options than buying new batteries for the moment. :)
