I am in the habit of keeping 2 cartos loaded. In the morning I use 18-24mg. At work usually the same since I go out on short smoke breaks just as I did when smoking analogues. In the evening I have a XL size carto loaded with 8mg because when I'm sitting around not doing much, like reading ECF, I tend to vape quite a bit. I found out pretty quick I need less nic or I need to pace myself better. I can always take a few hits off the stronger one if I want.

So far I have found with the 8mg, you lose much of the throat hit. But it still has a good flavor.

I had a discussion with the doctor about this. The way he explained it to me, something about cigarettes inhibits whatever it is that causes ulcerative colitis in a person who would otherwise develop ulcerative colitis. If that makes sense.

I've never heard about people starting to smoke to get rid of it. That's interesting. From what I hear it's extremely painful. I know of someone who started smoking again after developing it and it did go away.

My daughter was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis a few years ago, and she had been (and still is) a smoker. The doctor asked her if she smoked, and when she said yes, he said that nicotine helps UC, but she should stop smoking....ALL doctors say this. When I asked about nicotine patches, he said they don't know why, but the patches did NOT help with UC, only smoking did. I just started vaping yesterday, and have not smoked an analog since. I know that's not very long, but vaping is satisfying my cravings. My daughter saw this and now wants to start vaping instead of smoking herself. I always had mixed feelings about her smoking because the UC was a horrible disease, but she's been symptom free for years now (has smoked all that time). I'm hoping the vaping for her will do the trick.

I'm the type of smoker who would stand outside in a blizzard by myself just to smoke. I'm thrilled that I don't even want one now.

Hello ECF community!
I'm a newbie and am loving this site. This is my first post. I made the terrible mistake of buying a 'Smoke for Life' kit when on a business trip in San Antonio and got ripped off. So newbies, if you run into a mall kiosk selling e-cigs, run in the opposite direction. Don't waste you money... don't get ripped off like I did. Seriously, it produced no vapor, tasted like crap and felt awkward to hold.

Luckily this site set me in the right direction. Thank you ECF for the valuable info!

I live in Canada so when I got home immediately set to researching my options. I'm glad to say that my 510 and I have developed a beautiful friendship. I decided to vape to eventually wean myself off of nicotine.

My question is this. How do you know gauge how much you're smoking? I keep getting carried away cause its such a pleasant experience, and there's no way I can tell the analog equivalent. Would you say that for a standard 510 vaping with 12mg juice, that 5 drags equals one analog smoke session?

There's no documented way to tell as of yet. I've heard every percentage in the book but we really don't know how much actually gets absorbed. All I can tell you from experience is to listen to your body. Headaches, nausea, and dizziness are the first few symptoms of too much nic. If you experience any of these, cut your vaping or your mg down.
